How to unlock the Romantic achievement in Brotato - Definitive Guide
The gimmick with Romantic is to trigger the 'Charmed' buff, which will make the target mob fight for you for 8 seconds, then die.
You have a debuff with Curse, which will reduce your % Damage and Armor that increases by 1 at the end of a wave.
Loadout:
Equip high-speed weapons, ranged or melee, depending on your preference.
Stack Harvesting and %Attack Speed
Add %Damage and Armor, but not so much that you're one-shotting mobs.
Avoid Cursed items
Method:
Your legion of charmed mobs do most of the DPS here; your objective is to keep recruiting and gathering drops.
Stay mobile and avoid taking hits, as you may not have much armor.
Kite bosses and let your charmed allies do the main damage.
Alternate method:
Ignore the above and just go high damage. The debuff is not massive with this character so you can brute force this one quite easily.

This achievement isn't unlocking at all for me. Concerning.

This character isn't great. The "charm" gimmick didn't really do much in my experience. Enemies that were charmed just seemed to wander around aimlessly rather than helping. Otherwise, since this character starts with increased melee range, I went with a melee build, but there's no reason you can't do a ranged build. You're going to be fighting against losing damage and armor every five waves (or less), so keep pumping stats into damage and armor to keep up. Otherwise, treat it like any other character.
