In the 2D portion of the game, while doing villager quests in The North, you'll first need to complete Rudy's quest to find a key. Rudy is located to the west off the main path entering the town. To help him, simply (slowly) follow him to a pile of metal without touching him. After finishing helping him, go back south where the metal pile was to find a key.
With the key in hand, head into town and hang a left at a row of four houses (the third being smaller than the rest). Walk up to the door of the final house on the end, and use the key from your inventory to unlock it. Enter to meet Phoney and unlock this achievement.
