How to unlock the Our job's done! achievement in Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling - Definitive Guide

THIS IS CURRENTLY GLITCHED!

UPDATE 1.1 IS OUT! Update fixes achievement, loading up to the main menu will have it pop.

This is meant to unlock after popping your 29th out of 30 achievement. It is the “Platinum Trophy” equivalent for this game as seen here:

https://www.truetrophies.com/t303913/our-jobs-done-trophy

In game you will receive two achievement notifications, one for whatever your 29th achievement was and this will show up shortly after. Unfortunately the actual trigger for the achievement on Xbox is glitched so the maximum GS that can be obtained is 900/1000G. Edit: This should now pop upon getting the other achievements as of Update 1.1.

Devs have been notified about the glitched achievement and they’re looking into it. Once this (hopefully) gets patched I’ll update the solution. Edit: Devs listened to concerns and fixed the trigger!

That's disappointing, thankfully Hard mode is difficult enough that it's not likely I'll be hitting this any time soon anyhow. Glad the Devs are aware and working on a solution!

Can i ask if the BOSS machine is working in the game? Cos i didnt beat the 1st boss on hard mode and i know you are MEANT to be able to replay those battles via the machine thing but i read that also isnt working in the game on PS4 at least, is that the same on Xbox? Cos if so then every hard mode achievement is also missable..

@Iggsy I can’t confirm that myself unfortunately. I kept the Hard Mode medal on the entire game save two instances: for trying out the boss rush to get the two medals the scientist had and doing the cave of trials to get one of the medals after wave 40.

I did hear about this bug but didn’t want to chance it so I fought each boss on Hard.

@Officer Slug Yeah it can be a pain. I’m by no means a master of this game so I had a few methods to get through every fight on Hard.

Fighting:
I utilized a simple strategy though perhaps not the most effective of always starting with Kabbu and Heavy Strike. I’d have Vi do the spy log on the enemy and freeze the enemy with Leif. I’d follow up with a heavy strike, a heavy throw from Vi and another freeze if I could. I was able to chip away over half the health from some bosses before Leif couldn’t freeze them anymore. After that it’s a matter of constantly using Heavy Throw, using Leif primarily for items/Ice Rain is I had enough TP.

After I learned the Fly Drop ability or whatever it was called plus having enough TP, every fight went down this way. Spy with Leif if I needed it or go right to Vi. Heavy Throw from Vi, Ice Rain with Leif if I didn’t use him already then Fly Drop the enemy with Kabbu. It will do up to 11 damage to any enemy but it makes Vi unusable afterwards. I’d follow up with an Ice Rain, another fly drop. Enemies fell quick to this method.

Probably the most important thing about this strategy is that it doesn’t require some special combination of medals and knowing their weaknesses/strengths. To back this up you need a lot of items:

Items and Berries:

I stocked up on items like crazy. First and foremost I wanted as many berries as possible so I farmed out 500 berries which went right into the bank in the Ant Kingdom. With 500 berries that awards you a better membership and you get a 6% interest rate every half hour I believe. I went around adventuring, leaving the game on when I went to sleep (this game doesn’t pause when the controller shuts off so that helps) and before too long I hit the maximum of 10K berries in the bank. Pull out enough your wallet at 999 and by the time you ever need berries again it'll be at 10K again (unless you’re doing major shopping).

The following can be done in any order just note how much room you have to store items with the Ant carrying the huge bag and how many maximum you can carry:

With the berries you can easily purchase a ride to Metal Island. Talk to the Tangy Berry salesman and stock up on those. Go into the hotel and you can open a path back to the mines so you can skip the boat ride when you want to return. Go to the Golden Settlement and have the cook there turn your Tangy Berry into a Tangy Carpaccio. One Ingredient at a time until you’re filled with them. You’ll need to do his quest before he can do this.

Head to Defiant Root and if you’ve done Crisbee’s quest, buy Honey and transform each of them into Glazed Honey by cooking them alone. Then buy the Bag of Flour and cook that with the Glazed Honey to make a Crisbee Donut.

Finally head back to the Ant Kingdom and talk to Fry. He has a quest too and it’s basically cooking this item - Queen’s Dinner. Combining the Donut and Carpaccio will result in a meal that:

Restores 15HP to entire party
Gives 15 TP
Heals any status effect.

With ten of these you can handle just about any enemy healing up where needed. I would also make the Berry Smoothie (Tangy Berry + Dark Cherries) which gives 99TP (so basically a full refill) and the Miracle Shake (Magic Seed + Dark Cherries) which restores 6 HP to the whole party and revives anyone who is down. Being able to carry 15 items I would keep 9 Queens Dinners, 3 smoothies and 3 shakes. I didn’t use the shake that often until the final boss and the secret fight post game so you can have any number of whatever you feel is right.

To get dark cherries you’ll need access to the underground tavern (entrance is behind some grass next to the item store) and have advanced far enough in quests to gain entry. There’s a bug here who will sell dark cherries at 50 berries a piece.

Process to fill up on these items maybe takes 30 minutes or so, possibly longer but it’s worth it to beat just about any foe.

Good news! I know the devs have known about the bug for a bit now but we now have official confirmation that the achievements will be fixed in the upcoming 1.1 patch, which is coming as soon as next month. This was stated by one of the developers in the official discord server

@GoatND that sounds great but I don't see any mention of this achievement within that discord post. Just the issue with the Hard mode bosses via B.O.S.S. While I and at least one other have personally contacted the devs in regard to the "Platinum" here not popping, I hope that it's included in this Patch 1.1. Edit: I did reach out on the discord and heard from the same Maka that it should be fixed so...fingers crossed!
