How to unlock the Ultimate Team! achievement in Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling - Definitive Guide

Here is a strategy that made the fight a breeze. I tried this after finishing every other achievement so my party was fully leveled up and I also had a bunch of stat potions spread across the characters.

Minimum Requirements:

23 MP
At least 33 TP
Medals: Two Poison Attacker, two Power Exchange, Weak Stomach, First Plating, Strong Start
Items: Berry Smoothie (Dark cherries + Tangy Berry) and Mega-Rush™ (buy from Termite Kingdom juice store - first one as you enter)
Equip both Poison Attackers, both Power Exchanges, Weak Stomach, and First Plating on Leif. Equip Strong Start on Vi. I had Vi in front.

Turn 1
Vi: Use Mega-Rush™ on Leif.
Leif: Use ice rain three times (from turn relays) on Maki and Kina.

Turn 2
Vi: Use the Berry Smoothie.
Leif: Use ice rain twice on Maki and Kina.

Turn 3
Leif: Use ice rain on Maki.

Some other important equipped medals I had were:
3x TP plus (if you need them to reach 33 TP)
2x Antilon Jaws on Leif (ignore 1 Def for each)
Status Booster on Leif (higher status effect chance -> more freezes-> more damage

Yup this did it! Absolutely destroyed them with this even if I only had 1 Power Exchange equipped.

However I don't think Antilon Jaws help for this. At least going by the description of the medals, it only seems to work on the basic attack.

If you've not been using Ice Rain much before, you'll probably have to do this a few times, as the timing can be tight to hit both Maki and Kina with each attack.

OK, so this did work, but it still took 3-4 more turns and items to heal more TP after to finish Maki off, so there is some randomness, depending if the other two heal Maki inbetween the first few rounds.

Minor spoilers ahead as this achievement can only be obtained in the post-game.

After defeating the final boss and completing chapter seven, you should return to the Ant Kingdom. Check the request board next to the Sunset Inn and accept the quest titled "Confidential". To complete this quest, you'll need to head to the Far Grasslands and head one screen to the right if you're coming from the Ant Mines entrance or one screen to the left if you're coming from the main gate entrance. From here, you'll need to use Kabbu to destroy a huge boulder blocking a hidden path to the north.

Speak with Maki here and let him know that you're ready to go. You will then be ambushed by multiple waves of Leafbugs. After defeating them, Yin will turn into a moth and the quest will be complete. Maki will then inform Team Snakemouth that his team is looking for sparring partners and to drop by the Anthill Palace Bridge when they're up for it.

Upon beating Team Maki at the Anthill Palace Bridge, this achievement will be unlocked.

As the title suggests, this can be a difficult battle. Here are some tips and things I did to beat it:

- If you want to get a feel for the battle, you can do so with little to no consequence. Feel free to enter the battle unprepared and spy on everyone ahead of time to reveal their HP and defense stats. Upon losing, you will only be returned to the Anthill Palace Bridge with 1 HP per party member and will not have to reload a save.

- There is no need to do this battle with the "Hard Mode" medal equipped. In fact, I took it off. You will not receive any sort of extra award for beating this battle with it equipped (except extra EXP if you are not already the max rank), so it is meaningless and just makes the battle harder for no real reason.

- Stock up on items. This is the biggest thing. I recommend having already completed the "My Specialty", "I Wanna Get Better!", and "A Smiling Dish" quests as you will now have access to the "Queen's Dinner" recipe which recovers 15 HP and 15 TP to the entire party and cures all status effects. A good way to farm money to buy many tangy berries from Metal Island needed for the recipe is to complete the "Best Friend In The Fog!" quest and unlock access to the cave where Pinky the spider lives. Stock up on "Longleg Summoner" items purchased in a gumball machine at the top of the Wizard's Tower and speak with Rose the termite outside of the Termite City inn to be teleported to Pinky's cave. Feed the items to Pinky and she will spit out far more berries than it cost to buy the items. Rinse and repeat for infinite funds. Once you have enough Queen's Dinners and Magic Seeds, this fight should be much easier.

- This is up to preference, but since I had so many items and could heal and regain TP pretty much whenever, I took out Maki first as he was in the front and then his sister Kina. Be aware that Kina will get upset every time Maki is attacked and her attack will increase as a result. Once both Maki and Kina are defeated, Yin will simply flee the battle and it will be over. Yin can be a bit annoying in the meantime as she constantly increases her teammate's stats, but it should be more than manageable with enough items.
