How to unlock the Blood Symphony achievement in Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition - Definitive Guide

The other solution is great if you want to play in very hard from the start. I recommend playing on normal first to enjoy the game and work on skillshots. Beating the game once unlocks overdrive mode. Then replay levels via chapter select on very easy, earning all skillshots. Each time you unlock all skillshots for a gun, you unlock infinite ammo for that gun in overdrive mode. I recommend doing all 131 skillshots, but at least finish all of the ones for the drill gun, the cannonball gun, the shotgun, and the flail gun. These are most important. I also used the pistol some too, so like I said, easier to just earn them all first.
Now pick overdrive mode from the main menu, and enable infinite ammo. In this mode, you can hold Y to bring up an old school weapon wheel. All weapons are unlocked, and if you did all skillshots, all have infinite ammo. This makes the game a blast, and if you have the duke nukem dlc then this mode becomes what Duke Nukem Forever should have been.
. *You should take note that the prologue is NOT included in overdrive mode, so you will have to pick it from chapter select of the regular campaign before or after completing overdrive mode.*
*Tips*
1. On top of having access to the weapon wheel, you can set two quick selects to the left and right of the d-pad. Set these as the drill gun and the shotgun.
2. The drill gun can kill all regular enemies with one shot, including the burnouts. Most of the time it will take off and kill a second one as well!
3. The shotgun's charge shot can decimate as many as 6 enemies at a time if they are bunched together. ALWAYS have a shot charged even if you are using another gun.
4. I used the drill gun for far away enemies and the shotgun for close enemies.
5. Use the charged shot of the cannonball gun on the fat mini bosses. This will break their armor, then pepper them with regular shots from that or the drill gun until they die.
6. The robot Dino section is a pain in the ass. Checkpoints suck, controls suck, and it gets stuck a lot. Be patient! Take cover and let your health regenerate. In the open section use the blown out section of building for cover. I had a hard time getting the Dino to shoot down the copters from any other spot.
7. Use the flail gun on the plant boss. 3-4 shots is enough to kill his first health bar, and one shot per sac/tenecle wad.
8. On the chain gun sections, hold RT and tap LT (with aim assist on) and your reticule will jump to enemies.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. Good lucktoast

Mine didn't pop as anticipated, but it did pop after replaying 7,1 on very easy via campaign chapter select.

I did my first play though on normal, then I replayed prologue on Very Hard, then did the rest of the campaign on Overkill Very Hard. No pops at the end of the campaign. I replayed the prologue on Very Hard, still no pop. Then I replayed 7,1 via Campaign chapter select on very easy, and then I got pops.

I used Xenoweaver's comment as a jumping off point. I had no problem with Stowaway on my first campaign play though, but I took a number of deaths on the final timed run of 7,1 during my Very Hard Overkill play through, so maybe that glitched something. It's not the shortest chapter, but you aren't penalized for running through a lot of the early encounters.

If I play game on easy and unlock overdrive mode. Will I get Very Hard Difficulty while playing overdrive mode?

I would assume so. I played on normal on regular campaign, unlocked overdrive mode, and picked very hard on overdrive mode. I recommend normal over easy so it's not as big of a jump in difficulty. Easy is REALLY easy. Also as stated in my guide, you have to pick the prologue from the regular campaign menu and beat it on very hard as well, since it's not included in overdrive mode.

Just do a getting the basics play through on whatever difficulty you choose I'd suggest normal or lower on campaign to unlock the overdrive mode. Then follow the instruction above. Start a New Game on Overdrive with unlimited ammo checked (if you want to ensure you have unlimited ammo load a chapter select on campaign where you had the weapon and complete the skillshots before getting a checkpoint and quitting to menu. This will unlock unlimited ammo in overdrive). Play overdrive spamming your favorite weapons on very hard and once you've finished, chapter select prologue on campaign on very hard to finish on the very hard playthrough.

This achievement and the stacked ones for the easier difficulties didn't unlock for me at first. I played the whole game on Very Hard from the get-go and even though I leashed the ramp at the end of Chapter 7: Act 1 in time the Stowaway achievement didn't unlock either.

I replayed the chapter on Very Easy and arrived at the ramp earlier and when the Stowaway achievement popped so did all the difficulty achievements as well. I don't know if it can happen in other chapters as well but for some reason the game didn't recognize me as having completed that chapter and act the first time around. So if you're having issues with the difficulty achievements not popping it's probably related to these kind of things.

I didn't notice I needed to select prologue on normal campaign like you said. I was assuming the achievement was messed up like a few of the others were for me. Good callout once I saw it.

Well, this was probably THE easiest "very hard" difficulty I've yet completed. Why? Because of Overkill Mode. If you want this run to be a true cakewalk, do it like me and...

1. Unlock Overkill Mode by finishing the campaign on Normal diffculty (not sure if beating it on lower difficulties, too, unlocks Overkill Mode, but I suppose it does).

2. Complete all skillshots for the Boneduster (the shotgun).

3. Start a new game on Overkill Mode (which lets you carry all weapons at once and grants you unlimited ammo for all weapons you've completed all skillshots for) on Very Hard difficulty and enable the Infinite Ammo option.

4. Blast your way through the entire run using the Boneduster's charged shot (yes, you have unlimited charged shots as well), which is incredibly powerful, has a range of about 100 feet, a huge spread and insta-kills all standard enemies and mini-bosses. A few mini-bosses may require a second blast, though.

The Boneduster's charged shot, however, did not work on the plant boss on act 4-2 for me. Therefore, I used a combination of the Peacemaker Carbine's standard rounds and the Flailgun's charged shot, which I also had unlimited ammo for.

If at any point (for the sniping section, for instance) you should need a different weapon, you will have a huge amount of skill points at your disposal, due to the constant "Burn" bonuses (for killing at least two enemies with one charged shot) you have been amassing.

Furthermore, as a little bonus on top of it, the Boneduster's charged shot is by far the most efficient way to blast Electroflies.

If you use Chapter Select to beat a run on Overkill Mode, don't panic upon not getting the achievement, as you cannot select the Prologue from the Overkill Mode menu. In order to obtain the achievement, you will have to replay the Prologue from the standard Campaign menu.

The best advice I can give is to not use too much ammo, or waste SP on upgrades you won't use.
Personally, I only unlocked charges on the Sniper, Pistol and the starting rifle, which I used frequently. One other you should deffinitely consider is the final weapons charge attack which lets you kill two, maybe three enemies at once. Thumper for the leash is recommended, but don't waste SP on upgrading it. Chain Gun is also useful for multiple kills.

During the actual game, try to use Trishka, Ishi and Serrano as bait and line up multikills. Unfortunately, on Very hard, there are several points this will be difficult, as the AI are about as smart as a New born baby.

Technical bits put the way the best skill shots for this mode are ones that require very little ammo to use.
E.g. in the Gardens, it's better to slam the baser (slow) enemies in to Cacti or feed them to the parasites.
In indoor areas, thump people in to the ceiling for "Flyswatter", use elecrtical cables as often as possible and vertigo is a great one. Hitting an enemy with the chain gun then kicking them off the map, in to Catci or even in to the water during The Marina sequence, also nets you the "Sadist" skill shot, make use of this.

The chain gun is also useful for 'area kills', aiming for the head, kicking them in to an enemy gets you three (possible four) skill shots at once.

Don't bother with collectibles, they can be earnt later in chapter select. Only hit the ones in the way of your mission path. Elctroflies are good for dispatching enemies, if the opportunity arises. You can also use the explosions of Newsbots to kill enemies, you'll habe to weaken an enemy first, but you'll get a skill shot and 500SP in one hit.

EDIT: at the end of the game, you unlock OVERKILL mode. This mode lets you use all weapons at once without having to changing them at a dropkit.
This should (as it lets you unlock other achievements) let you unlock the higher difficulty settings if you want to play on easy straight away.
Although, I would recommend doing all four of these achievements in one run and using OVERKILL to mop up missing achievements on Very Easy. Thanks to the SCHWARTZ 00 for reminding me of this.

EDIT: A friend of mine has confirmed you can also use 'Chapter Select' from a Very Easy play through and do the achievement a chapter at a time. The only bad thing is you will not get any bonus SP from the lower difficulties. Meaning if you do chapter select on Very Easy after completing you'll start with a bit of extra SP per chapter. Completing it on Very Easy and selecting Very Hard, will void this.

Would you recommend starting on very hard or easy mode first.

I think Overkill mode does work going back through to complete the achievements.
I'll add that on at the end, I forgot to include that part.
I went for legitimacy and just smashed out all four difficulty achievements first time round. Meaning I only had to put the game on Very easy to mop up the collectibles and currently the skill kills I'm missing.

Can anybody confirm whether or not you can get this in overkill mode?

Yes I can confirm that you can get it in overdrive mode with infinite ammo turned on. You do have to do the prologue from chapter select of the regular campaign though. I added a solution for those who want to earn the achievement in this mode.

Very Hard is the highest difficulty for Bulletstorm but it isn’t as hard as the name implies. This is especially true if you wait to complete the campaign in Overkill Mode with infinite ammo unlocked. This will allow you to breeze through everything using your favorite weapons, even from the very beginning of the game. The strongest two weapons are the drill gun (Penetrator) and the charged shot shotgun (Boneduster). I also used the Flailgun a lot because it’s my favorite and the charge shot is strong. Feel free to spam these to death, since you will have infinite ammo for them if you got all the skillshots in the regular campaign for these weapons. If you opt to use Overkill Mode, make sure to complete the prologue on Very Hard in the main campaign. This can either be done before or after your Overkill playthrough.

If you decide to go into Very Hard from the start, it’s not as hard as other shooters. Use generic knowledge such as taking it slow, conserving ammo, and using cover as best as possible. Keep enemies airborne with your leash and use the environment as much as possible for insta-kills. I like to position myself behind deadly cover such as a cactus or barbed wall and just kick and leash enemies into it. It conserves ammo and gets me on my way quicker. Bulletstorm also has very sticky aim so try aiming really fast to sort of lock onto enemies during parts like the train and helicopter rides. There’s really only one boss to worry about: The giant plant in act 4 chapter 2. Just make sure to keep sliding around the arena and take out the plant with either the charged Flailgun or auto rifle (Peacemaker).

If you have difficulty completing this difficulty, you can go on a lower one, a new mode will open where you will be given all the weapons at once and will be given the opportunity to turn on endless ammunition for the weapon on which you completed all the skill shots corresponding to it.
Don't forget to replay the prologue on this difficulty via "chapter selection", since this mode starts immediately from chapter 1.1 .

Chapters can be replayed in any order.
I went through it myself, starting with the prologue and then from the second chapter until the finale. After completing the first chapter, the trophy immediately dropped out.
Just go through the “Murder” mode again, otherwise you won’t see any weapons! You'll start from scratch!
