How to unlock the Total Malfunction achievement in Bulletstorm - Definitive Guide

Hey Games, here is my video guide that will take you through both sets of collectibles, the Electro flies and the NewsBots as they appear in each level so you will be able to collect them in the order they appear.

Electro Flies - there is a total of 21 swarms you have to shoot and are they are blue.

Newsbots - there are 28 of these bots to destroy, they make noices and broadcast so listen out for them.

Also All collectibles can be collected Across Multiple playthroughs and on any Diffculty - Thanks to CTDMUDRUNNER for the added info...

Edit - Its been reported that certain NewsBots may not appear where they are supposed to and possible not show up at all, if you find this happen it has been suggested restarting the Checkpoint and researching. Thanks to Kornfan2007 for this info...

great guide. will be using this soon. should also stat that they dont all have to be on the same playthru and can change difficulty :-D

Could you add a note that if a bot is not there then restart checkpoint. Bot 16 was not there for me until I did a reload. Others reported same issue

Now that is how you do a collectibles guide. All types of collectibles for the whole game and in the order you encounter them. Awesome. Got everything on my first playthrough.

XCVii007r1 made a youtube video showing you ALL the Newsbots in Bulletstorm. All you have to do is blow up Newsbot by shooting or kicking and that will count as a Destroy. Does not need to be done in one playthrough.

My first robot isn't there in act 4 chapter three is it glitched?

This is a guide for both the Electro Flies and Newsbots.

Tip 1: In the chapter selection menu it will tell you how many of the Newsbots and Electro Flies you have gotten.

Tip 2: Once you unlock the shotgun you you can use the charge shot to take down a group of flies with 1 shot.

Newsbots are scattered throughout the whole Single Player Campaign and you should unlock the achievement in Act 7, Chapter 1. Simply kick or shoot them to destroy one. I suggest you kick them to save ammo. Kicking will get you hurt but your health will regenerate, so if there are enemies around leave it until last!

These are malfunctioning Newsbots that are scattered across the planet of Stygia. There are a total of 28 Newbots in the game that are asking you to shoot, kick, or thump them to death. For every one that you destroy you will earn 500 skillpoints and be one step closer to the Total Malfunction trophy. These are easy to find for they make a lot of noise that you'll become familiar with as you're playing. It you missed some of these Newbots while you were playing for the first time, then don't worry because you can use Chapter Select to go back and destroy the Newsbots that you missed. Not only that but Chapter Select also tells you the Chapter(s) that you missed them on. Use the following video for guides:

News bots are these buckets on wheels that you will meet throughout the game, they can sometimes be heard by the sound, something similar to interference, just go up to them and kick them 2-3 times, they also give you skill points.Total There are 28 of them, you will meet the first one in Act 2-1
