How to unlock the Hoarder achievement in Bulletstorm - Definitive Guide

What you are looking for here is trying to shoot for at least 10k per Echo. This is something that while you'll have to play the Echo once to see what works for you weapon wise, and also what the environment is, it can be done.

The thing I have to stress is you MUST change weapons as frequently as possible. Get as many skillshots out of a given gun as you can and when you see a new dropkit, change weapons. The Sniper has three skillshots that can be done fairly quickly if you're adept with it; namely: Premature- using a Charged Bullet and exploding it before it hits it's given target and killing them, Letterbomb: Hit a target with a Charged Bullet and then guide him into other enemies and of course, Hotshot, which is just getting a Headshot with the Sniper.

With the Flailgun you can get Skillshots without even having that gun equipped. When you see the Freaks with the Flails, just let one snare you, and then run into a group of enemies and you'll get Gangbang. Just make sure to jump into cover fast as soon as you take them out.

On Mini Bosses; Thump them. Or, Leash their head off because that way you get Bossed as well as Touchdown or Whiplash, I think it is.

My favorite Skillshot is a Fireworks and Flyswatter Combo. You fire a charged Pistol shot into a group of Enemies, let them be set on fire and then thump them into the Air. You should also get Afterburner on this combo as well so it's pretty sweet.

The Shotgun has skillshots that are easy to get as well; Slide into enemies and fire while sliding and if you hip aim it right you should get Torpedo as well as either Legless or Topless. Charging it can net you Burn and I would suggest using this in as big a clump of enemies as you can. Also, thump enemies and then Charge shot them while in the air for Acid Rain, or alternately, find one enemy and continually shoot them with the Shotgun for Juggler.

There are a lot of combination's to do this with and all of your points carry over. So you get 6k on Echo one, that'll count as an overall total, which is what this achievement is counting towards.

Good luck!

'Laaaaaaaate edit as many people have pointed out...'
You can use the 'new' maps to add to your point total, so if you get them you obviously don't need to be ace at the main game ones :)

Does the new DLC map count towards it also?

If you don't have the extra maps from the online code, this can be quite a challenge. However, they've mentioned new echo maps with future paid DLC, so if you intend to get that down the road for the achievements (unlike the current online code) then this achievement will be easier to get then.

probably me being stupid but can scores stack up over all the echoes or do you need to be able to get the x amount need in one go on one run through?

The scores stack up, and you can increase them from your initial score. So, essentially if you get 5k on one echo but you need 9k to get all three stars you can replay it and build off the 5k; but it won't act as a new echo if that makes sense. You'd get plus 4k for getting to 9k. And asking questions isn't being stupid

Also, to anyone who thinks this isn't helpful, i'd appreciate it if you said why on this solution so I can edit it and fix anything

Perhaps you should add into your guide to say that any1 who got the epic edition or who downloaded the online pass can also earn this one by playing the dlc maps. As of right now, that works, but I'd be quick about its only a matter of time before it gets patched.

good tips and pointers, up voted ya. Just add a note, as others have pointed out, the high score is accumulative (even if you die) of each play through you do.

Cheesrs.

Might want to add that if you have the Epic Edition and used the code for the bonus echo missions (the ones after the initial 14 that have + signs before it), they do count towards your 150,000 total. I was shy a bit after completing the first 14 and I just did a couple of the bonus echoes and was able to unlock the achievement.

Again this is if you bought the game and have Epic Edition to use the code for extra echoes.

The Epic Edition maps were life savers, had to do 2 of them to get it to pop. Really didn't feel like improving my old 3 star scores :/

For anyone slow to the Bulletstorm dance like me, the Echo maps you get with the purchase of the DLCs Gun Sonata and Blood Symphony count towards the total.

Fortunately you can earn more points by playing the new maps. You should update your solution, because this information is only here.

I can confirm that the + maps do count toward the 150 000 points, so you don't need to get 10 00 per echo if you have them. I have a few echoes that are only 1 star, but I have finished each one at least once and get this achievement.

My save got corrupted when they released the update for the gears 3 beta. So I'm having to redo the echo's. Now, my times are still on the leaderboards but I still have to unlock the echos as if I never played them. My question is since I'm replaying them, I've beaten my previous scores before my data got corrupted by getting 3 stars, why isn't my total score for the echo's going up when I get higher scores? I just got 3 stars on the first 10 echos and my score has not increased from 104055. Shouldn't it increase when I get a higher score or is the leaderboards just slow to update?

Some Tips to consider.
1. Get three stars in all the echoes - this will give a decent score to start with.

2. Get the 'Golden Idol' achievement (I was one move off when i got Hoarder) - this will show you the less common skillshots that can add a lot to an echo run.

3. Start with the higest scoring echos first. These will give way more than the 10.8k average required to get the 150k total. You could spend three hours trying to get 10k on Desert when really you only need 5-7k.
High scoring echos:
The Park - 20k
Mall - 18k level
The Club - 15k
Forbidden Zone - 15k
Collapsed Building - 15k
Spaceport - 14k
The above give a total of 97k leaving just 53k to find from the other 8 echoes. The scores are rough estimates but hte above echos are the ones to concentrate on.

4. Check the High Score tables and your position. If you are in the top 5k for a echo your not likely to claw a large amount of extra points from more runs. While if your 90k you know there are plenty of more points up for grabs.

5. Unique - The top unique skillshots will net you 500 points you want as many of these as possible.

6. If you run out of unique skillshots reuse the hi-scoring ones sch as 'X-Ray' 'Fertiliser' - 200 points for a repeat. I used X-ray a lot! It's eas to do and if you can get a headshot with it it will give a decent amount per kill.

7. Get drunk! Drinking some nom juice will add a bonus to every kill, 100 points i believe. Being poisoned also adds a bonus.

8. The time bonus isn't always required. Levels with large amounts of mobs (Such as mall) offer more points with a take your time and unique kill as much as possible than running through the level as fast as possible.

9. Fire Flies and news bots! Dont forget about these they add plenty of points!

Thats about all i got! Happy gaming!

As you play through the Echo maps you'll be accumulating a top score for each one. It's these scores that you need to add up that'll make your overall total!

So once you've made it through all Echo maps, look at your total scores for each, add them up and see where you're at with your total score! If it doesn't reach the target of 150,000 then go back into some of the maps and try and beat your current score.

To view you current total point in Echo, select the "Score" option at the top of the level select screen, and allow the leaderboards to load your total score. (No adding required). Also, if you have used the online pass that comes with new copies of bulletstorm, you unlock an extra 6 maps, that count toward this achievement and make it much easier. They are labelled with a "+" before their name.

If you aim for 3 Stars on each map you shouldn't have any problems obtaining this overall score when you get to the last map if not a little sooner!

In order to get this trophy your combined high score on every Echoes level that you've played must be over at least 150,000+ points. There's a chance that you'll unlock this while going for the Supernova trophy but it's not guarantee that you'll unlock both at the same time. If you fall short on the 150,000 points, then reload a Echoes mission that you think you can do better on.

Special Notes:
As stated in the roadmap, the Online Pass will make this even easier due to the fact that it gives players 6 extra Echoes to play. The DLC content pack will also give players 2 bonus Echoes to play as well.

The achievement will be given when you get 3 stars in the first 14 echoes, if there are not enough, there are other cards.
