How to unlock the Hoarder achievement in Bulletstorm - Definitive Guide
The thing I have to stress is you MUST change weapons as frequently as possible. Get as many skillshots out of a given gun as you can and when you see a new dropkit, change weapons. The Sniper has three skillshots that can be done fairly quickly if you're adept with it; namely: Premature- using a Charged Bullet and exploding it before it hits it's given target and killing them, Letterbomb: Hit a target with a Charged Bullet and then guide him into other enemies and of course, Hotshot, which is just getting a Headshot with the Sniper.
With the Flailgun you can get Skillshots without even having that gun equipped. When you see the Freaks with the Flails, just let one snare you, and then run into a group of enemies and you'll get Gangbang. Just make sure to jump into cover fast as soon as you take them out.
On Mini Bosses; Thump them. Or, Leash their head off because that way you get Bossed as well as Touchdown or Whiplash, I think it is.
My favorite Skillshot is a Fireworks and Flyswatter Combo. You fire a charged Pistol shot into a group of Enemies, let them be set on fire and then thump them into the Air. You should also get Afterburner on this combo as well so it's pretty sweet.
The Shotgun has skillshots that are easy to get as well; Slide into enemies and fire while sliding and if you hip aim it right you should get Torpedo as well as either Legless or Topless. Charging it can net you Burn and I would suggest using this in as big a clump of enemies as you can. Also, thump enemies and then Charge shot them while in the air for Acid Rain, or alternately, find one enemy and continually shoot them with the Shotgun for Juggler.
There are a lot of combination's to do this with and all of your points carry over. So you get 6k on Echo one, that'll count as an overall total, which is what this achievement is counting towards.
Good luck!
'Laaaaaaaate edit as many people have pointed out...'
You can use the 'new' maps to add to your point total, so if you get them you obviously don't need to be ace at the main game ones :)
1. Get three stars in all the echoes - this will give a decent score to start with.
2. Get the 'Golden Idol' achievement (I was one move off when i got Hoarder) - this will show you the less common skillshots that can add a lot to an echo run.
3. Start with the higest scoring echos first. These will give way more than the 10.8k average required to get the 150k total. You could spend three hours trying to get 10k on Desert when really you only need 5-7k.
High scoring echos:
The Park - 20k
Mall - 18k level
The Club - 15k
Forbidden Zone - 15k
Collapsed Building - 15k
Spaceport - 14k
The above give a total of 97k leaving just 53k to find from the other 8 echoes. The scores are rough estimates but hte above echos are the ones to concentrate on.
4. Check the High Score tables and your position. If you are in the top 5k for a echo your not likely to claw a large amount of extra points from more runs. While if your 90k you know there are plenty of more points up for grabs.
5. Unique - The top unique skillshots will net you 500 points you want as many of these as possible.
6. If you run out of unique skillshots reuse the hi-scoring ones sch as 'X-Ray' 'Fertiliser' - 200 points for a repeat. I used X-ray a lot! It's eas to do and if you can get a headshot with it it will give a decent amount per kill.
7. Get drunk! Drinking some nom juice will add a bonus to every kill, 100 points i believe. Being poisoned also adds a bonus.
8. The time bonus isn't always required. Levels with large amounts of mobs (Such as mall) offer more points with a take your time and unique kill as much as possible than running through the level as fast as possible.
9. Fire Flies and news bots! Dont forget about these they add plenty of points!
Thats about all i got! Happy gaming!
As you play through the Echo maps you'll be accumulating a top score for each one. It's these scores that you need to add up that'll make your overall total!
So once you've made it through all Echo maps, look at your total scores for each, add them up and see where you're at with your total score! If it doesn't reach the target of 150,000 then go back into some of the maps and try and beat your current score.
To view you current total point in Echo, select the "Score" option at the top of the level select screen, and allow the leaderboards to load your total score. (No adding required). Also, if you have used the online pass that comes with new copies of bulletstorm, you unlock an extra 6 maps, that count toward this achievement and make it much easier. They are labelled with a "+" before their name.
If you aim for 3 Stars on each map you shouldn't have any problems obtaining this overall score when you get to the last map if not a little sooner!
In order to get this trophy your combined high score on every Echoes level that you've played must be over at least 150,000+ points. There's a chance that you'll unlock this while going for the Supernova trophy but it's not guarantee that you'll unlock both at the same time. If you fall short on the 150,000 points, then reload a Echoes mission that you think you can do better on.
Special Notes:
As stated in the roadmap, the Online Pass will make this even easier due to the fact that it gives players 6 extra Echoes to play. The DLC content pack will also give players 2 bonus Echoes to play as well.
