How to unlock the All Pimped Out achievement in Burnout Paradise - Definitive Guide

After a number of events you complete during your run to upgrade your license, the game shows you a car and says that the car is now around Paradise City. Let's call those Burning Route cars.

What you need to do is take those cars down, similar to doing it on a Road Rage.

The way to make those kinds of cars spawn is simply by driving around. Eventually you'll see the car in the distance because it moves faster than normal traffic, and more irratic. If you successfully take it down, it becomes available for you in any junk yard (as the game tells you).

From that point, head to a junk yard and choose that car. Now, press the Back button, which takes you to the in-game map. From there, make sure you're looking at "Events". Select the type of events, which defaults at "All", and move it left or right, until you get the selection for "Burning Route".

From there, as long as you have a Burning Route car, your map should show one out of all the burning routes as a white star. Head to that one, which should also be labelled as a burning route for your specific car.

Simply win a burning route for each Burning Route car to unlock this achievement. A burning route is a single race from one point in Paradise City to another.

If you highlight the burning route in the map, it will tell you the starting and end points of the burning route before you go in. Once you learn the city, you'll be able to plan your course before even getting to the burning route.

Now, during your game, you'll want to do these burning routes as soon as you get their cars, because they count towards your license upgrade. By the time you upgrade to Burnout license, you'll have 8 Burning Route cars left to get.

After winning a burning route, you get an announcement that informs you that you have received a special version of that same Burning Route car in your junk yard. These special versions are simply for your own use, so enjoy them.

The only way to play burning routes is to use the cars that naturally get announced as entering the city and take them to their proper burning route event.

*EDIT* There should be 35 burning routes in Paradise City, and 1 burning route in the DLC island.

Good luck! You'll be doing this for most of the game.

If you'd like more information, leave a comment and I'll gladly help with info.

The Burnout Wiki states 1 Burning Route for Big Surf Island.

"1 Burning Route event for the Carson Dust Storm"

If you can provide information on the other 2 burning routes for the Island, I'll edit the solution to support it.

Shadow Enz explains what you've got to do perfectly, but I found not all cars had Burning Routes so having a list helped as I could see which did. I also ticked them off as I did them so I knew which I've got left to do. Here's a list of them all if you want to do the same:

1. 25 V16 Revenge
2. 500 GT
3. 616 Sport
4. Annihilator
5. Cavalry
6. Citizen
7. Fastback

11. Hawker
12. Hot Rod Coupe
13. Hydros Custom
14. Hyperion
15. Ikusa GT
16. Inferno Van
17. LM Classic
18. Manhattan
19. Mesquite
20. Opus

29. Tempesta
30. Thunder Custom
31. Touge Sport

Figured I would make a guide for this achievement for a few reasons: no guide at the time of me writting this had an owner who unlocked this achievement yet. Also this was my last achievement and I really struggled with my last 6 Burning Routes.

To engage in a Burning Route you'll have to use the specified car for that route. To easily find them on the map, display Events, show only Burning Routes, and you'll see your event with a Star symbol on it if you are using a car that has an event. There are confusing cars like Carbon cars (Carbon X12, ect.). All Carbon cars are special rewards for completing certain achievements and do not have any Burning Route events.

There are 35 Burning Routes thier symbol on the map looks like a bullseye target. Some are fairly easy, others are excruciatingly difficult. I'll rank them roughly from easiest to hardest #35 being the hardest IMO. I'll try to provide you with some tips and a display of information that should aid you in figuring out the quickest method to tackle these in and what to expect at a glance.

1 Ikusa GT (easy) Time: 1:38 Distance: 2.2 miles Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Ikusa Samurai.

2 Grand Marais (easy) Time: 1:06 Distance: 1.6 miles Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Grand Sicilian.

3 Cavalry (easy) Time: 1:40 Distance: 1.5 miles Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Oval Champ 69 (this car is Aggression type).

4 616 Sport (easy) Time: 1:30 Distance: 2.6 miles Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: 616 Arachno Sport.

5 R-Turbo Roadster (easy) Time: 1:33 Distance: 2.2 miles Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Burnout Roadster.

6 Pioneer (easy) Time: 1:56 Distance: 2.6 miles Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Pioneer Super Gator.

7 P12 (easy) Time: 2:37 Distance: 5.2 miles Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: P12 Track Package.

8 Reliable Custom (easy) Time: 2:03 Distance: 3.3 miles Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Reliable Special.

9 Inferno Van (easy) Time: 1:15 Distance: 2.0 miles Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Inferno BRT Van.

10 Mesquite (easy) Time: 1:45 Distance: 2.1 miles Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Mesquite Custom.

12 GT 2400 (easy) Time: 2:01 Distance: 3.8 miles Boost Type: Speed. Sabotage GT 2400.

13 Vegas (easy) Time: 1:15 Distance: 1.5 miles Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Vegas Carnivale.

14 Hydros Custom (easy) Time: 1:32 Distance: 2.2 miles Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: Hydros Techno.

15 Spur (easy) Time: 2:22 Distance: 3.8 miles Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Hotspur.

16 Takedown 4X4 (easy) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Takedown Dirt Racer.

17 Touge Sport (easy) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Touge Criterion.
I love everything about this car.

18 Fastback (easy) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: Fastback Special.

19 Hyperion (easy) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Hyperion Rattler.

20 SI-7 (easy) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: Racing SI-7.

21 Manhattan (easy) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Manhattan Custom.

22 Opus (medium) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Opus XS.

23 Annihilator (medium) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Annihilator Phoenix.

24 X12 (medium) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: XS12.

25 Racing Oval Champ (medium) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: BRT Oval Champ.

26 GT Concept (medium) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: GT Flame.

27 Tempesta (medium) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: Tempesta GT.

28 Citizen (medium) Time: Distance: Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Civillian.

29 Thunder Custom (medium) Time: 2:13 Distance: 4.5 miles. Boost Type: Aggression. Unlocks: Thunder Shadow.
Wrecked 3 times, had 2 seconds to spare. Finished it on my 2nd try luckily.

30 Hot Rod Coupe (medium) Time: 1:52 Distance: 4.1 miles. Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Tribal Special.
Got lucky I guess because I got if on my 2nd try with 10 seconds to spare.

31 Uberschall 8 (medium-hard) Time: 1:30 Distance: 3.9 miles. Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: Uberschall Clear-View.
If I recall right if controls pretty terrible but it is fast. I wrecked once and still had r seconds to spare.

32 Hawker (medium-hard) Time: 2:48 Distance: 6.9 miles. Boost Type: Stunt. Unlocks: Hawker Solo.
This one can be hard for a few reasons, firstly its 6.9 miles long (the longest of the Burning Routes) but you have 2:48 to complete it and I saw a guy do it with about 30 seconds to spare, so your allotted ample crashing time and not needing to take all the shortcuts. Also this is a stunt car so you can't take the shortest route necesarily as you need tricks all over your route to keep up your boost meter. You should be boosting 90% of the time on this run. I tried it about 20 some times failing and succeeded with 15 seconds of excess time finally. The route I'd take would be lower docks area taking as many shortcuts as you can. Use the middle median lane on the wide open lanes of the docks. Then just keep hugging the exterior of the map till you get there. Lotta shortcuts and stunts to be had here.

33 25 V16 Revenge (hard) Time: 2:36 Distance: 5.6 miles. Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: Revenge Racer.
I crashed twice and had 1 second to spare on my successful run finally.

34 500 GT (very hard) Time: 2:36 Distance: 5.5 miles. Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: Racing 500 GT.
This route is tough because there's a lotta possible crashes and not much room for error and because this car controls terribly.

35 Racing WTR (very hard!) Time: 1:00 Distance: 2.9 miles. Boost Type: Speed. Unlocks: PCPD Special.
I don't know if time of day helps on this one but I set it to Constant and Sunrise. Spent almost 2 hours on it but finally got it with half a second to spare. It's the only Burning Route event to my knowledge that you have to do without crashing any! This car controls beautifully and is wicked fast but to slightest bump or rub against another car with crash you 95% of the time. I stayed in the right lane (not oncoming) and tapped the boost for a second at the start. Then when I got near my first cars I went for near missed while I held the boost. Got a 2nd boost bar used up before the Toll Booth. Slowed down there to take the yellow cone caution exit to the right. Landed 1 jump in the center billboard area for more boost. Then stayed in the right lane till the end.

For the Racing WTR it's a bit easier to stay in the oncoming lane which will give you guaranteed burnouts so you can hold boost. After you pass the toll booth you can stay left after entering the tunnel which has an exit ramp up to the main road. From here just drive straight into the finish line. A perfect race should get you in around 55 seconds.

Videos of ALL Burning Routes from the REMASTERED version of the game. If your having trouble with a Burning Route, find the car in the "Timestamps" spoiler. Then use the video to see what route to take.

Burning routes correspond to certain cars which you will earn through completing events and other things. There are a total of 35 burning routes, and you must complete all burning routes with all 35 burning route cars. Look at the burning route on the map to find out what car you need, choose that car and pull up to the event and hit & to start the race.
