How to unlock the Crashin' All Over The World achievement in Burnout Paradise - Definitive Guide

Obviously for each road you are wanting to get the highest value of damage by crashing into cars, vans, buses, and overhead road signs. Each of these has a different value with the smaller cars having the smallest value and the value getting bigger depending on the size of the vehicle.

Buses are the key to getting the high value as for each bus you hit you'll get a score multiplyer. You can do most showtime road rules with about 3 or 4 bus hits as long as you are plowing through the normal traffic.

One thing to watch out for when going for the buses is that if a bus appears on screen try not to let it go off screen by turning the camera as this can sometimes despawn the bus or other traffic for that matter.

Try not to bounce up hill as some hills need a good amount of momentum to get up and whilst your doing this you'll probably be bouncing over the traffic, so your boost bar will quickly go down.

Take it slowly and don't keep rattling the ground break button as you can get a lot of momentum from cars crashing into you, and if you are bouncing quite high your going to be missing most of the traffic anyway.

Try to crash into on coming traffic so that it keeps coming at you. You don't want to be going with the flow of traffic as you'll end up chasing it up the street sometimes.

I found enclosed tunnels were very easy to rack up the value as you generally rebounded off the ceiling of the tunnel, keeping you right on top of the traffic. The tunnel can be your normal tunnels or where the rail road runs above the road.

For ever yard you travel during the crash you will also get $100 so make sure you keep moving.

Thanks for the correction!

The Grand Marais/Grand Cicilian (Gangster Limo) is a good car to use for these events, as it has a very long body and a large boost bar.

I posted that comment awhile ago. I'm still going for this achievement. it's such a drag for me because I like the racing and the time road rules so much better. also I noticed. try to end a Showtime near a road you need to get the road rule. when you end, tons of cars are still around and if you leave them, they go away and it's a lot harder to get the points

If your going for the Criterion Elite achievement, you'll get this. Just check your map, highlight Road Rules for display & Showtime for type to see what roads you need to beat. Then find the road and press up on the D-Pad until you highlight Best Offline/Online Crash, then press both the LB & RB at the same time. Try to hit buses for multipliers. When you do get this achievement, you should also get the Kitano Carbon Hydros Custom.

For showtime, I found the smaller roads easy to beat if you start the showtime at the end of the small road and then continue onto a main road (more cars and buses), it still counts for the road you started on.

this game has been out for almost 10 years and the solutions on TA for it are terrible. Downvote me for saying that if you want, but the highest rated solution doesn't even tell you how to start the f-ing thing.

there are 2 semi-hidden event types in Burnout Paradise

'road rule showtime' is one of them

how to get this achievement

there are 64 roads in the game
each one has an "offline crash record" score
you have to beat all 64 scores to get the achievement
you must play the god awful hidden-for-no-reason 'showtime' mode to beat these scores

how to start and play showtime

while on any road, at any time press cn_LB+cn_RB
guide your wreck around with the left analog stick
you gain points for:
- touching other cars
- making other cars crash
- how much distance you travel
push cn_A to spend boost and make your car bounce into the air
the event ends when you run out of boost
you get a little boost for each car your wreck touches
you get a lot of boost for every 10 cars that get wrecked
there is no 'out of bounds', whatever score you earn is for whatever street you started the event on so you can bounce wherever you want.

how to beat the showtime scores

- use the biggest, fattest, widest car you can. I liked using the Pioneer/Super Gator

- busses give you a +1 multiplier to your score. If you see one, you want to hit it. Unless you are amazing at this mode, you will not be able to beat the scores without hitting a few busses.

because of that, getting this achievement is more luck based than skill based. It is extremely obnoxious.

how to tell if you've beaten a showtime score or not

two ways:

1: - press cn_back to show the map
- set display to 'road rules'
-set type to 'showtime'
- all of the roads you have not beaten will have red street signs

2: - while driving, press cn_up until you see 'best offline crash' at the top of the screen
- as you drive around, the street sign in the top center of the screen will either be red or gold
- RED means a road with an unbeaten offline score

Drive down any road and hit + together to enter showtime. You must beat the showtime score on that road to rule the road. Keep track of all the roads you have completed a showtime on from your map, by hitting back and changing the options to show showtime.
