Here's my full playthrough if you need any help surviving to the 12th wave.
I recommend going into the settings and turning the stick speed / sensitivity up so that way you can keep up with the faster moving enemies.

Word of warning.... If the game won't give you the expand crew upgrades this will take longer than 1/2 hour....

It just won't give me those. I can't believe my luck.

Another tip is to aim low. By default, the Crosshair is aimed at the top of the screen, making turning extremely difficult even with maximum sensitivity. By aiming low, the turning radius is significantly reduced.

It's also easier to lose one or two cakes, so you can reduce the areas to focus your shooting at.

Golden enemies are fast but only those that come straight at you are dangerous. The ones moving from left to right can be shot at later.

The brown enemies shooting bullets at you from wave 9 - you can't catch them in time, instead, focus on shooting down their bullets. These bullets are very fast and can end you in one attack.
