Hello there, ladies and gents. Today we are looking at the Complete Kitchen achievement in Calico. This achievement unlocks for collecting all 21 Recipes in the game.
Below is a text explanation of how to achieve this, but if you are interested, there is a link at the bottom of the solution to a complete Video Achievement Walkthrough and a complete Text Achievement Walkthrough that you can follow start to finish in about 3 hours.
NOTE: The game is still rather glitchy, so its not a bad idea to make a Save right before finishing anything that will pop an Achievement so that you can reload if an Achievement doesn't pop correctly.
A few things to note for this achievement:
Most(11) of the Recipes are self-explanatory, coming from Quest progression.
Oliver and Estelle have 10 total Recipes that can be purchased from them. 4 of these(Cupcake, Croissant, Bagel and Donut) are always available and you need the last 3 of those for Quests. The other 6(Cake from Estelle and Cornet, Bread, Cheesecake, Muffin and Cream Puff from Oliver) are randomly available in their respective shop's inventories. However, shop inventory does not reset from time passing (at least it didn't for me). It only resets when you sleep in your bed.
This achievement gets tricky later on in the game, because Oliver runs ALL over the Island. He can be in every area of the map except for the Witching Woods. You can find him in Heart Village behind Estelle's Shop and sometimes in front of the Town Center, in Lumi's Onsen in Snowbell, next to Safeena in Cutie City, next to the Lighthouse in Clover Coast, and West of Daisy's house in Golden Grove. He tends to move to these places when you open them up and stay there until you open the next area. In the end game, he randomly goes to one of these locations.
Estelle's shop is always in Heart Village, but since Oliver can be all over the place, there's a few things to know beforehand to make your life easier.
One, Oliver has a secret base behind the Waterfall North of your Cafe. Walk outside and follow the river in front of your Cafe to the North to a waterfall that has a dresser inside. This dresser functions as Oliver's Shop, so even if he is traversing the entire Map, you can still shop at his dresser without chasing him everywhere.
Two(I have a video detailing this process, and I'll drop the link to it at the bottom of the solution)
Make Coffee and put it on display in your Cafe, as its the only thing Oliver has ever purchased from my Cafe(he also seems to have Bread as his favorite, so if you manage to purchase the Bread recipe from him, it may help to make it and put it in your Display Case). If you EVER see Oliver buy something in your Cafe, stop what you are doing and teleport to the Cafe. Oliver's AI is unique in that he does not leave your Cafe if you sleep while he is there. Meaning, since Shop inventories reset when you sleep, you can Shop with him, go upstairs and sleep which resets his inventory, and go back down to shop, repeating the process until you have all of his recipes. Obviously this requires a decent amount of beans, but any opportunity to catch him in your Cafe can lessen the grind later on.
Three, I don't recommend going out of your way to try to get these during your Story play. Check every time you return to Heart Village after sleeping, but otherwise the flying broom you get from Rosa after the credits roll at the end of the game makes it MUCH faster to get to the stores, saving a lot of time. Whenever you head into town or happen about Oliver, feel free to check for Recipes, but save the grinding until you get the flying broom. Here's how you go about grinding the random Recipes out:
Go to sleep at your Cafe, wake up and check your map. Fly to Estelle's shop and check for Cake, fly to Oliver(or his Dresser, depending on it he's in town or not) and check for his Recipes, then teleport back to the Cafe using the Potion and go to sleep, repeating the process until you have them all(obviously you can skip Estelle if you have Cake already or skip Oliver if you have all of his Recipes, too). The broom makes this infinitely easier than going out of your way to do it during the game.

I completed Autumn's Spa Day quest but she did not give me the scones recipe. am i screwed? will it ever show up later?
[UPDATE] I got the scones recipe after turning in Hocus Focus (the floating cat) with Autumn. A google search yielded this page of patch notes where they mention a fix for "...scone recipe inappropriately not being given by Hocus Focus."

Kept playing to turn in that quest and there it was. Just an FYI if anyone is following the guide and finds no scone recipe after SPA DAY.
