Hello there, ladies and gents. Today we are taking a look at the Witch Way achievement in Calico.
The description says that this unlocks for clearing the entrance to the Witching Woods, but the achievement is misleading and it does not actually unlock then. I'll run you through the Questline and what you need to do.
Below is a text explanation of how to achieve this, but if you are interested, there is a link at the bottom of the solution to a complete Video Achievement Walkthrough and a complete Text Achievement Walkthrough that you can follow start to finish in about 3 hours.
NOTE: The game is still rather glitchy, so its not a bad idea to make a Save right before finishing anything that will pop an Achievement so that you can reload if an Achievement doesn't pop correctly.
When you open up Golden Grove, you can meet Daisy, who lives to the SouthWest. When you chat with her, she'll mention the Giant Cat blocking the entrance to the Witching Woods. You need to return to Autumn, saying "Witching Woods", who will hatch a plan using a magical toy mouse that will be put into your Toy collection. You need to gather magic into this toy mouse and return to the Cat.
Autumn offers her magic to the toy mouse, and you then need to also find Estelle and Ash in Heart Village, Xin in Cutie City, and Lumi at her Onsen in Snowbell Mountains and tell them "Magic Mousey" to get them to fill the Cat Toy with Magic. Once done, return to the cat at the NorthWest edge of the Witching Woods, open your Toy Inventory and choose the Big Mousey Toy. Once selected, hit LB to lift the toy above your head and walk up to the Cat to trigger the credits. This opens up the Witching Woods, but the Achievement does not unlock here.
After the credits, you get dropped in front of Rosa. Talk to her to get a Flying Broom. Once the conversation is over, use the broom to find Mayor Kiva, and talk to her to turn in the Quest for opening up the entire island, where the 'Witch Way' achievement will finally pop!

Just a warning.
Pay attention to the other guide when it says to equip the mouse toy THEN walk up to the big cat to trigger the end of the quest/credits.
Every time I walked up to the big cat without the toy equipped, it would completely shut my Xbox off. Shoutout to the other actual guide because I was really worried and stumped about how to actually progress

I could KISS YOU. I had the game crash about 5 times and I tried resets and reinstalls. How did I not think to have the toy out. You are a game saver :)
Edit: Just touching the fuzzy cat again once in the woods still causes my game to crash. Keep a few metres away from the big guy if having the same problem.
