On chapter 3, while you are in the Hawkins Mansion and go upstairs for the first time, you will have a few doors to go into.
For this achievement, go into the second door on the right hand side (The first door is broke and you cannot get in)
In there, simply press and hold
& 
to go into investigation mode, complete it and achievement should unlock.

The achievement is not specifically for the boy's room investigation. You need to get all 3 memories for this to pop (source of fire, dinner table, and boy's room).

During Chapter 3, you’ll have to perform a few reconstructions scenes. The one in the child’s room will require you to inspect a few objects and this will net you the trophy. This is required to move forward with the story so this is unmissable.
