How to unlock the Genius achievement in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - Definitive Guide

Can be done on the first mission after the tank encounter. Simply kill the rapelling enemies (4-5) then quickly run around the corner and toss a threat grenade with cn_LB. Then throw as many smart grenades as you can with cn_RB. You should hit 4 enemies that are running up the narrow staircase.

If this doesn't work for you, the video illustrates a point further in the lvl where it may be easier!

I recommend running all the way up to where the group of enemies are then boost jumping up in the air and throwing one down... that way you don't die before they die. wink

For me the best place was in the first mission (induction). About halfway you will be underground and having to run through a subway car. You will than see the enemy drop a smoke grenade and your squad leader will say to throw a threat grenade. Simply throw the threat grenade and you will see at least 5 enemies grouped together. Simply run in front of them (on recruit difficulty) and toss 1 smart grenade. If done properly the cheevo will pop. If it doesn't reload the checkpoint (you will start in the subway car just a few feet from the area). Be sure to run ahead of your squad as sometimes your fellow squad mates will kill some of the enemy troops.

Load Mission 9 (Crash) and play the Sky Opening (2 Minutes) after your landing and back to controll your Char, go forward to the Cargo Container and wait. At this Position spawns 2*4 Enemies and here is a Checkpoint. If the enemy spawn, toss the Smart Grenade and hope that they will fly right (is a little bit Lucky this Grenade Typ.. )
If you failed respectively the Grenade, reload the Checkpoint and try again.
The Video shows also as second at the same Position

Can be done in the very first scene of the very first mission. This could simply be your first achievement in this game.

Unfortunately I recorded with the console's DVR, thus the achievement notification doesn't appear. But it's an entirely legit solution.

An alternative method is near the beginning of the level Crash.

Although this is nowhere near impossible to unlock before this level, I just couldn't seem to get the achievement beforehand.

After bringing down the plane, you will be ambushed by a ton of enemies grouped together.

Throw a threat grenade (LB) to highlight and launch a smart grenade (RB)

I was struggling to get 4 enemies together but this level worked perfectly first time for me.

If you are struggling to get this, as I was, this level will guarantee you the achievement.

I did this on Mission traffic.
While standing on the bus and you get attacked by all the cars throw a smart grenade.
There are enough people inside the car i think :)

another super super easy way (the same place you can get the sonic achievement...) as soon as you come out of the pod, sprint past your squad, throw a threat grenade around the corner and then throw a smart grenade after it, it shoots up, and drops right at the entrance of the door wiping out all 4 bad guys in one go! reload the checkout a couple times to get the "loud enough for you" at the same point! boom!

I found a place that might be a little easier. Still on the first mission on Recruit, you'll come to a part where a smoke grenade is thrown and you're asked to throw a threat grenade. Do so, then quickly run up, and throw a smart grenade and back up. 6 guys will be coming down the stairs when the smoke grenade is thrown, and they'll be fairly close to each other, making for a real easy place to get this trophy.

I did this during the first mission on Recruit difficulty.

You will come to a street with lots of bars and restaurants. At the crossroads there is a bar on the left front corner with pink and white lettering above the door. Kill your way through the first floor (trying not to kill enemies in the windows upstairs) then run up the stairs. There will be a group of enemies across the room. I tossed two Smart grenades to be safe and the Trophy popped a few seconds later.

Mission 1: Induction

About halfway through this mission, you will reach a subway station and pass through a train. Once you go through the train, you will be told to throw a threat grenade. Throw one at the bottom of the stairs and it'll reveal about 6-7 enemies. Now simply throw a smart grenade ( on PS4, on PS3) at the group and it will kill 4 of them as the blast radius is fairly decent. If you mess up though and the trophy doesn't unlock, simply restart the checkpoint. For a visual walkthrough, refer to the video below.

This trophy/achievement can be achieved in Mission 3: Fission. When you go forward you will see some groups of multiple enemies. Use a threat tactical grenade to see how many enemies are standing close together.

Personally, I got it in the very first mission, somewhere in the middle, during a street battle (you leave the building, and there the enemy is shooting from a heavy machine gun mounted on the car. After turning right on this street, I got the achievement, I threw grenade in thick smoke)

Can be combined with the ThreatDetected / I see a threat achievement
After the soldiers began to descend on ropes, we sit down under the cover and wait for them all to descend! They stand in a bunch, so first we throw them a scan grenade (because on a veteran you’ll die like a fly), then you throw a simple one! Immediately after this, we run a little forward and complete the achievement I SEE A THREAT!!!

Mission 1. Everything is very simple, as soon as you are given control of the hero, according to the plot you will jump from the capsule, going to the first passage there will be 4 opponents, throw a sensor and wait until they all run into the passage, throw smart grenades and in your pocket. Simple, convenient, fast!!!
