How to unlock the SP Prestige achievement in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - Definitive Guide

Honestly, this is one of the easiest COD games to beat veteran in. I recommend 2 play throughs. Once on recruit to get the intel, mission specific achievements, etc. And the second play through to get veteran, and any achievements you missed (such as fully upgrading the Exo suit).
The reason I say two play throughs is because by the time you beat the campaign on recruit you will A) know what to do and where to go and B) you will have your exo suit nearly maxed out. Just go to mission select, choose the first mission on veteran and begin.
I recommend (on your recruit play through) to get fast reload, more health, and more grenades upgraded as soon as possible, as they will make it so much easier to get it done.

i agree with this guy - easiest veteran campaign to date. some have been really hard but this just seemed ridiculously easy.. died a couple times in the whole campaign

This is way too easy. First cod campaign I have veteren'd, but I do not recommend the two replays. Just do it on veteran and spend mabye half an hour on mission select getting intel. Thats how I did it!

@sprti5 yea doing that is the fastest, however I cant stand mission select as I find it so boring. Me personally id rather play through twice than being bored through mission select. And while yes its still easy even without the exo upgrades, it will still save you a hell of trouble when you have more health, grenades, etc

On a side note: Ghosts and BO2 were very easy to get on veteran, I recommend giving those a try. In my opinion COD 2 and 3 were easy, MW1 and WaW were challenging, MW2 and Blackops had 1 mission that was a B-word but the rest were easy, and anything MW3, BO2, Ghosts, and AW were just way too easy...not that I'm complaining :)

I'm having an issue with this - Basically I have completed the campaign on veteran but for some reason when I go to mission select and look at the last mission in the game (Terminus) it says that I have only completed it on Hardened which is not true because I've completed it on veteran about 5 times but still the same thing keeps happening - Anyone got any ideas or could help me out? Would be much appreciated, like you said this game is pretty easy on veteran the most difficult thing for me is getting the achievement to pop!

@Tensity DeaN honestly I have no idea, I've never encountered such a bug. Are you sure you played on veteran. If so the only thing I could recommend is calling Microsoft and or sledgehammer

@Filip36365 Yea it was a really weird issue. I fixed it by playing through the entire campaign again on veteran and the achievement finally popped - Guess I must have had a corrupted save file along the way or something :/

@DoobyDude23 Yes, Call of duty achievements have always been stackable. Normally I wouldnt recommend intel on Veteran since it is easier to die and can get frustrating, however after 1 playthrough Veteran is much easier and if I remember correctly (someone please confirm) as soon as you pick it up it saves so even if you die it counts so it shouldnt give you too many problems.

@Tensity DeaN
same problem here, i have played on veteran from the first mission til the last one and i see every mission completed on veteran except the last one. The game says i have no completed yet. It's incredible.

I had the same issue where it said that the last mission was completed on Recruit although I did it on Vetrean 3 times...then I replayed Mission 14 on Veteran and the achievement for completing the campaign on Veteran unlocked straightaway at the end of the mission.

I knocked this out this morning and the achievements popped without delay. I'm sorry to hear that others have had problems with this. Once you get all the exo suit upgrades, it's actually laughable how easy AW is to beat on veteran. At best, I'm a mediocre CoD player, but I had only a couple of trouble spots. Even then, I only died a few times before advancing.

Im having the same issue with some of you. Completed the campaign on veteran but the last mission will only say I completed on hardened. Contacted Activison, did two resets, uninstalled reinstalled and tried again...and nothing. Ive played Terminus 7 dam times on veteran and no achievement. Activision advised to start a new game but that means I loose all my exo upgrades. I guesss this is an achievement Im not getting.

Ok, so the BS is happening to me now. I completed the game on veteran and no achievement. When I went to missions select, it showed I beat every board on Veteran except the last one, so I started that mission up, put it on Veteran, beat it and it still didn't pop. I checked again and it said only beaten on hardened. Started it again, made double sure it was on veteran, beat it again and STILL NO ACHIEVEMENT!!!

Easy peasy tbh. Did Veteran on my very first playthrough, died maybe ten times total. Absolute cake compared to CoD4 or WaW.

@Go On Thome It's because they got rid of infinite spawning so you can pick enemies off. Now add crazy jumps and more health and it's a cakewalk. BO2 was also easy

So the Hardened and Veteran achievements are stackable? I'm kinda following your advice on 2 playthroughs, but haven't collected any intel, gonna do that on veteran. My first playthrough on pretty much any game is just story and getting the hang of the game. Thanks for the tips wink

I had a similar issue to what has been explained above. I will outline how I resolved it in the hope it may help another.

Day one: played several missions on Veteran. Completed Armada and started on Throttle. Got part way through the level and turned it off as I was tired.

Day 2: Game starts at the start of Captured. I was confused as I knew I hadn't finished the prior mission. I Complete this level and the Final mission on Veteran for no achievement. I didn't bother trying to fix it at this time. I had things to do.

Day 3: I check the mission select screen. See Throttle (which I know I had not completed on Veteran) with Completed: Veteran under it. Captured said Completed: Rookie. I play Captured again. Finish the level, no Achievement. I bite the bullet and go back to Throttle. I finish this on Veteran and the achievement pops. problem solved. I check the mission select screen again, and it seems finishing this has now made the difficulty for Captured reflect its Veteran completion.

After this, I would recommend playing the mission prior to the one that says you have completed it on the lower difficulty.

Some people (myself included) have had issues with the achievement unlocking after completing all of the missions. Ultimately I got the achievement, but while I was waiting for it to unlock I made a video (below) to see if others had the same issues that I was having. There were and are still people struggling with this. Sometimes there is a lag period between beating all of the missions and actually getting the achievement. According to Activision, this is due to the large amounts of activity on the cloud servers and it takes a while for them to catch up.

Long story short, if you beat all of the missions and you don't get the achievement right away, just wait. It'll unlock eventually.

To get this trophy you need to have completed all 15 missions on the veteran difficulty.

*EDIT*

Look at the comments of this solution if you have trouble getting it.

I have played the entire story on Veteran, including the last level "Terminus". Of which I have played 3 times, 2 have been recorded and documented. I have even watched the credits to completion and still have not been given credit for beating said level or the 2 trophies for Hardened and Veteran. Please help me understand this?

Thanks for the intel. I looked it up a while ago and found that it was a server problem. Figured Activision would have patched it by now. But, I will try the uninstall method. Thanks again.

That sounds very odd.

Never was a problem for me. Is this maybe what you meant?

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/game/call-of-duty-advance...

Seems like you're pretty alone with this problem since not many things came up when googling it.

Something that should work (but be a pain in the ass) is to simply reinstall the game but obviously you'll need to redo everything. (Not 100% sure it'd work, something could be wrong with your disc as well.)

I had been having trouble with this trophy right up until yesterday.

I had been playing through the game on Veteran, saving and quitting each time I exited the game. When I completed Terminus, no trophies appeared. I tried the same level several times on different difficulty levels but no joy - the trophy still did not pop.

One possible solution I found on another site was to restart the second to last level, Captured, from the beginning and then carry on through to Terminus and complete the game. It was only when I did this that I realised I had never even played Captured despite the game marking it as complete on Veteran! I expected the trophies to pop once I had completed Captured but nothing happened even though I had now definitely completed all levels on Veteran. I had to carry on and complete Terminus (again) before the SP Prestige trophy appeared.

This trophy - along with "Hard Hitter" and "A New Era" trophies (for me at least) - popped on the results screen after the credits (which incidentally I read you had to sit through, i.e. don't press "skip", but I'm not entirely convinced you do) and the Irons "salute" screen.

One other thing I did notice when playing through Terminus the first time (i.e. before I had completed Captured) is that it would not allow you to skip the cut scene at the beginning whereas all the preceeding levels would. It was only when I re-started Captured and played through to the end I noticed I could now skip the first cut scene of Terminus. Something to bear in mind when you start the final level!

WARNING: There is a glitch that can cause your campaign progress to reset on you when you exit the game. There have only been a few reports of this happening so it isn't widespread, but it can happen. The glitch causes your player profile save to reset (this includes upgrades, intel and campaign progress). The cause of this glitch is unknown and we will update as we know more. To be safe, whenever you start the next mission save and quit, then back your save up. For more info, refer to the thread below:

WARNING! Campaign Progress Loss Possibility

To earn this trophy, you must complete the game on Veteran difficulty. Veteran is the hardest difficulty setting, and is unlocked at default, so you can play it immediately from the start. The difficulty is quite easy compared to previous Call of Duty titles. There's not as many enemies thrown at you unlike previous titles, and you have an exo suit throughout most levels that gives you a clear advantage. The Smart and Threat grenades are also very useful.

Advanced Warfare also introduces a new feature: Exo Upgrade System. This new feature lets you upgrade your exo suit by spending upgrade points earned by completing challenges, including max health. It's highly recommended that you collect all 45 pieces of Intel as well as complete the final challenge for total grenade kills in this playthrough. You can complete the final challenge for grenade kills as early as the second level, "Atlas" in the grenade training exercise. Keep replaying the training course and spam the button (PS3)/ button (PS4) because you have unlimited grenades. Completing all grenade kills challenges will also give you 8 upgrade points. This is extremely useful because you'll have major upgrades early on in the game. As for using your upgrade points, we highly recommend to use them on Reload, Quick Arm, and Armor as soon as you can.

  • Upgrade your exo as early as possible, it does help - Getting upgrade points early on in the game help drastically. As mentioned above in the second paragraph of this trophy description, you can complete the final grenade challenge in the second mission.
  • Move around, just don't rush - Don't just sit in an area expecting to make progress. Try to push forward as much as you can as your team mates push forward as well. This lets them have a better chance of killing off enemies.
  • Use your grenades! - Threat grenades are probably the most useful grenade in the game. Use them as often as possible. They're your own personal UAVs.
  • Take advantage of ammo crates - Ammo crates basically give you unlimited ammo, so use don't be afraid to use your grenades. Smart grenades help a lot as they seek out enemies for you, so you can just throw them in the air and aim your reticule where you want them to go.
  • Prone as often as you can - This can not only make it harder for enemies to hit you, but it also gives you cover as well as lets you regain health.

If you have already completed the game on a different difficulty and are now taking on the “Veteran”, then it is not necessary to complete the game completely from scratch. You can play while maintaining the previous upgrade of the exoskeleton and just complete the missing tests for full upgrade, without resorting to special boosting.

To do this, click “select task” in the main campaign menu. The list of mission selection below will say what max. difficulties: you completed each task, select the first episode, set the difficulty to “Veteran” and go ahead. You will still receive the trophy at the end of the game.

Start playing right away on Veteran, the game is not difficult, the main thing is to use cover and don’t get into trouble. I also advised using weapons with a Target Amplifier and a Diesel Locomotive. At some points in the game, they make the passage much easier.
The only difficulty you may have with completing the game is at the very beginning of the last mission, here is an excellent video guide .

I started playing on Veteran, but after finishing the campaign I didn’t receive a trophy for difficulty. It turns out that I completed 3 chapters on “Medium” O_o, which is very strange, because I remember that I didn’t change the difficulty and there was clearly no smell of medium difficulty there. Frustrated, I began to look for the remaining intelligence, and after I completed the last of these 3, the trophy dropped out.
