How to unlock the Cold War Remedy achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Definitive Guide

Warning: You need to play in Classic as Achievements can't be unlocked if using modifiers. The Difficulty can be set as easy/casual.
Oly the person that picks up the winters howl will get this achievement, you will need to do this again for multiple people.

Teleporter Piece locations to access Pack a Punch:
- First piece in the Main Offices
- Second piece in the Morgue
- Third piece in the Panic Room (to access it you have to activate the defcon switches and then use the teleporter)

Assemble it in one of the buildable tables and then place it in the middle of the War room lower level.

Guide:

• You will need to obtain four codes throughout the map:
1 Go to the Deserted Hallway and shoot the portraits to the right of the George Washington name plate in the following order: Middle, Left, Right. Make sure you are using an explosive weapon to open up his nameplate to receive the 1st code;
2 Grab the key in the War Room outside of the panic room to open the drawer upstairs in the Main Office to obtain the 2nd code;
3 Go to the South Laboratories (across the target practice room) and throw a grenade in zombie spawn window over the teleporter piece to obtain the 3rd code;
4 Activate the defcon switches in this order: Upstairs across elevator, Server Room, Upstairs near elevator, Downstairs. Enter the teleporter to the panic room and interact with the static TV to get the 4th code.

• Input the numbers in the code terminal located in the War Room Lower Level in the order that is above this step (1,2,3,4). Once you input correctly the 4 codes the Pentagon Announcer will say that Project Skadi has been retrieved.

• Survive 3 waves without leaving Groom Lake until the barricade next to the Pack a Punch opens, interact with the case to unlock the achievement.

Might be worth mentioning that this EE can be done on casual/easy and still unlocks the achievement.

I hope this isn’t a stupid question... I’ve completed all parts of the Easter Egg except I am unable to remain in Groom lake. I keep getting teleported back to the map after a few seconds, thus not allowing me to complete the three rounds. Is there a fix for this? Is there something I’m missing?

@nwo135 i am aware of this issue, please stand by as i am looking to see if it is indeed a glitch or if Treyarch changed this step. Will let you know if i find any info.

I just got this achievement. It popped after I inputted the codes and went to groom lake. I did 2 to 3 rounds on there prior to get a pack a punch gun to get the George Washington code. I suggest doing it on normal so you can do the McNamara Easter egg door knock. Once Samantha yells at you get stink zombies in round one. Got close to 10k in points to open doors and grab a gun from the box

Just to add to this solution, you cannot get this with bots because all players must be at Groom Lake. It will teleport you out of the area early since the bots don't follow you.

Also you don’t need an explosive weapon to shoot the president portraits. Just any upgraded (pack a punch) weapon. Shoot the metal nameplates and not the actual pictures. The reason explosives work is because the explosive splash damage actually hits the nameplates so that’s why that works but again it’s not needed.

Another thing I can confirm is that you don't have to wait the 3 rounds after all these steps. I did the codes a few times wrong. Thought I did everything right but the case with the weapon wasn't there. I then went back, put in the 4 codes in the right order and went back there. And The barricades were still gone and the case with the wonderweapon spawnded. I hat the Winters Hawl equipped if anyone is wondering if that works. It does!

also worth a mention.... if you've assembled pack a punch machine before getting the 4th code, the teleporter will constantly be on the PaP area even after activating the defcom switches in correct order.
to combat this, just use the one of the elevators to a different area and those teleports should be able to get you into the panic room

Is there a known bug? Because I did all steps and I can't stay in Groom Lake because it's teleporting me away after a short time? Any help? I did this with 3 Bots and Easy, it should work since the codes worked too

Because the bots don't go with u you get teleported out. Do it solo or with a group

Should at least have noted to use the particular code when getting the teleporter part from the save room.

Would be worth mentioning that before you start you should bring the welling pistol to pack a punch for the required explosive weapon, and to make sure you have a grenade in your loadout. I had to restart because I didn't think about it.

With the portraits, all you have to do is get downed in the hallway with the pistol to make it pack a punched and shoot the NAMEPLATES in order of 1,3,2,4. This way you don't waste all that time and points to get it PaP'd. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I made sure to turn the power on before I shot them.

The Project Skadi prototype, otherwise known as the Winter's Howl, is the Wonder Weapon in Classified. While it is available from the mystery box, you must complete the quest which grants you a free version weapon for this achievement. You must bring along grenades or acid bombs as your equipment for one of the steps. You must obtain 4 codes hidden around the map and enter them into a machine in the War Room. The codes, in the order you must enter them can be found at:
 
  1. You must obtain a Pack-a-Punched Weapon (see later in the guide). In the hallway leading up to the elevator on the top floor are 4 portraits. You must shoot the nameplates in the order of Washington, Franklin, Hamilton, Lincoln. This will open up one of the nameplates, giving you the first code.
  2. Opposite the perk in the War Room is a box filled with keys, interact with it to pick one up. Interact with a desk in the middle of the Main Offices to open it up, revealing another code.
  3. Activate the DEFCON switches in the following order: Upper level furthest from elevator, Server Room, Other Upper Level, Lower Level. Teleport to the Panic Room and interact with the TV showing static on the left to find the third code.
  4. Near the door to the Weapon Testing area in the lab (the one further away from the elevator) is a window, throw a grenade or acid bomb behind the large machine and the last code should appear next to the window.
Now enter the four codes in order into the large machine in the War Room by shooting the digits to change them. Once all four are entered, activate the DEFCON switches again and teleport to Groom Lake. Stay here for two full rounds and part of the debris should clear. If you face the PaP machine, head to the now clear area on the left side to find a briefcase with the Winter’s Howl in it.

Pretty easy easter egg. If you have already had experience playing Zombie mode, then there will be no problems with it. The point of the Easter egg is to get the Winter's Wrath weapon. To obtain this weapon, you need to find out 4 four-digit codes and enter them in a certain order into the computer, which is located in the command post on the lower level.

1) Codes can be received in ANY order.
-The first code is on the nameplate next to the portrait of Washington in the hallway on the way to the elevator. You need to quickly blow up the portrait of Washington, then the portrait to the left of him and to the right of him. STRICTLY IN THIS ORDER. Center, left, right and next to it a code will appear. The easiest way to explode is with the Improved Starter Pistol. If it doesn’t work right away (this may happen), then spam until it works.



-To get the second code, you need to pick up the keys that hang OPPOSITE the perk in the Command Post below, where zombies are usually kept. Then you need to go to the Main Office and open the drawer in the table in the middle of the room, there will be a code



-The third code is located in the Laboratory in one of the zombie spawn windows. In the southern part of the Laboratory, next to the room where there is a workbench and a teleporter. The window looks like this (see photo). To find out the code, you need to throw grenades BEHIND the semicircular thing (what’s the name), which is located inside and sooner or later the code will appear a little to the right of the window.



- The last code is in the Vault. To get there you need to turn on 4 switches. 3 of them are located in the Command Post and one in the Server Room. It is necessary to switch strictly in a certain order. 1) Upper level command post, the one that is further from the elevator 2) Server room 3) Upper level command post, the one that is closer to the elevator 4) Lower level command post (there is only one there). A bust will appear in the teleporter, that’s where we need to go. As soon as we move into the shelter, to the left there will be a wall with TVs. We need the one with the interference, we approach and interact with it, it moves away and there will be the last code.





2) Now these codes need to be entered into the computer strictly in the order in which they are written in step 1. After each code you need to press . If everything is done correctly, the game itself will tell you about it.
3) You need to get to the location with the Improver and survive there for a full 3 rounds. After this, a passage will open next to the Improver, where there will be a case in which our treasured weapon will lie Pick it up and the trophy is yours. If you play as a party, only the one who picked up the weapon will receive the trophy.

You need to shoot not at portraits, but at nameplates. Not necessarily explosive, any upgraded weapon will do

I’ll add a little: 3 rounds in a location with an Improver can be done before the final stage. When I opened this location and saved 5000 to improve the starting pistol (to knock out the code from portraits), I just went through 3 waves there, and after I entered the codes and returned to this location, the box immediately became available

As an option, in general, you don’t even have to open the upgrader if you’re playing solo. Just let yourself be dropped - while you're lying there you'll have improved revolvers (if you took them initially).
Well, the upgrader can be opened on the first wave - see the hint for the Preemptive Strike trophy
