How to unlock the Salvation Lies Above achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Definitive Guide
Hi all,
It's been a while since I've written a solution, but here we are. This guide will include everything you need on your journey to completion.
Important: If you feel like spending points, Pack-a-Punch your weapons before obtaining any perks. There is a moment during the Easter Egg where you won't be able to use any of the locations so make this a priority. Recommended weapon set up: Assault Rifle (KN-57, ICR, Rampart or Peacekeeper) in combination with a Wonder Weapon (Thunder Gun, Tundra Gun or Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze).
When you're ready, start your game. Once loaded up, get about 6.000 points each and open up the map towards the lighthouse from the Lagoon (left-hand side of the spawn area). Don't forget to flip the power switch before leaving this area. When you arrive at the beach, open up the Lighthouse Station, proceed to the upper deck, open the door into the Lighthouse and make your way all the way to the top.
Collect the shield part in the spawn area (Docks) as well as in the Lagoon and Lighthouse, these are listed below (in spoiler tags in case you don't need them):
Craft the shield in the Lighthouse Station and pick one up. This location will be beneficial during the endgame step.
Note: Across from the Riot Shield, you can collect 500 points by holding on the George Romero glasses.
Before we move onto the Easter Egg steps, collect the blue rock to activate the Pack-a-Punch locations. This always spawns in the path from Lighthouse Station to Beach. Give it to The Hermit once you've activated two Power Switches.
We have now kicked off the easter egg run:
- Step 1: Challenge Totem #1 - Lighthouse Station (Copy/pasted from the solution by E Joshua Miller, go give him a thumbs up!)
- Step 2: Challenge Totem #2 - Forecastle (Again, copy/pasted from the solution by E Joshua Miller, go give him a thumbs up!)
Whilst you complete the first two steps, you can opt to get the kills required whilst going for Samantha's Music Box in the Facility. This needs to be collected during your Easter Egg run, and the sooner the better. Our group also did the steps to claim the free Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze, which is also needed for the Easter Egg.

- Step 3: The infamous dials
Return to Lighthouse Level 4 and collect the Dials reward from the Hermit's pulley. Navigate to Artifact Storage and interact with the 4 panels on the walls to place the Dials. Once placed, interact with each Dial until a ding noise is heard, repeat this for each of the 4 Dials. A dialogue will begin to play, and they will task you to find the Offering Three. Make sure your subtitles are enabled so you can keep track where to search.
- Step 4: Find us Offerings Three
Once the previous step is complete, dialogue from the Apothicon Blood will begin. A riddle will be given which hints toward the location of an object that must be obtained, all possible solutions are as follows. Repeat this process a total of 3 times.

- Step 5: Obtain the Seal of Duality
Note: You will need the Dynamite Bomb for this
Once all 3 Offerings are obtained, the Apothicon Blood will give a riddle hinting toward the location of the Seal of Duality, all possible solutions are as follows:
"Where humans suffer": Locate and melee the bulletin board found on the wall in Specimen Storage . Open the safe by building and placing a Dynamite Bomb on it
"Inside an icy hall": Locate and melee the wooden board found in Ice Grotto . Open the safe by building and placing a Dynamite Bomb on it
"Where Aether was gathered": Locate and melee the bulletin board found in Geological Processing . Open the safe by building and placing a Dynamite Bomb on it
"Where cages hang": Locate and melee the framed map found in the Boathouse . Open the safe by building and placing a Dynamite Bomb on it
- Step 5: The Orb Game #01
Navigate to Artifact Storage, interact with the barrel underneath the big red orb to place the Seal of Duality. The orb will now move around the room, shoot it (the Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze is recommended) to reveal a smaller orange orb which will leave the room, repeat this process a total of 3 times.
There will spawn 3 orange orbs in random locations on the map. Obtain and throw a Snowball at the orb without getting too close, if done correctly, the orb will be frozen, then shoot it with a bullet weapon to return it to Artifact Storage.
Once all 3 orbs were returned to Artifact Storage, return there and freeze then shoot each of the orbs once more. Once complete, collect the Seal of Duality from below the red orb.
- Step 6: The Campfire dialogue #01
Navigate to the Sunken Path, interact with the campfire to place the Seal of Duality. Throw a Music Box onto the campfire. Allow the dialogue to play, then collect the Seal of Duality.
- Step 7: Obtain the fuse
We are on a trip to memory lane now! Return to Lighthouse Level 4 and obtain the Soapstones from the Hermit's pulley. Navigate to the Boathouse and place the Soapstones on the scorch marks found on the ground. Next, Activate the Boathouse trap, then collect the heated Soapstones once it is complete.
Without going in any water, navigate to Human Infusion and place a Soapstone in the control panel. Next, place the other Soapstone on the scorch marks on the ground in Decontamination. Finally, activate the Decontamination trap, then collect the cooled Soapstone and place it in the control panel in Human Infusion.
Collect the fuse from the center of the Human Infusion control panel after each Soapstone is placed. Navigate to Lighthouse Station and place the fuse in the power panel.
- Step 7: Power the fuse
Use the Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze to shoot a red battery found on the electrical towers near Facility Entrance and Loading Platform. You'll need more power, so we'll have to locate three generators found around the lighthouse, the loactions are listed below:
1. Lighthouse Station - Railing
2. Lighthouse Approach - MX9 wallbuy
3. Boathouse - Trap switch
Kill an Electric zombie near each of the generators to power it. Once complete, return to the Lighthouse Station and interact with the power panel to open the door and collect the Elemental Shard.
- Step 8: The Orb Game #02
Navigate to Artifact Storage, interact with the barrel underneath the big red orb to place the Seal of Duality. - Step 9: The Campfire dialogue #02
Navigate to the Sunken Path, interact with the campfire to place the Seal of Duality. Throw a Music Box onto the campfire. Allow the dialogue to play, then collect the Seal of Duality.
Navigate to Lighthouse Level 4 and give the Seal of Duality to the Hermit via the pulley. Survive the lockdown event, then collect the Seal of Duality from the Hermit's pulley. If you are playing in a group, having each member on a different level of the lighthouse is recommended not to get swarmed.
Locate the Pack-a-Punch Machine, as indicated by the Lighthouse, and insert the Seal of Duality into it. Kill Zombies nearby until the Seal of Duality is returned. Repeat this process for each of the 4 Pack-a-Punch locations. Use your Music Boxes or Monkey Bombs to your advantage and use this time to level up your specialist weapon. Once you are done, it's time for the final Orb Game.
- Step 11: The Orb Game #03
Return to Artifact Storage and place the Seal of Duality below the red orb. This time, the orange orb freezing and returning process will stay within the room. Once all orange orbs have been returned, collect the Seal of Duality and place it on the campfire in Sunken Path, throw a Music Box on to the campfire, then collect the Seal of Duality once the dialogue has completed.
User the flinger to navigate to the Golden Pack-a-Punch machine on the Iceberg and insert the Seal of Duality into it. Kill Zombies nearby until the Seal of Duality leaves the machine and forms a shield around the player as the map transforms.
Stay within the Seal of Duality shield as it moves throughout the map. When it stops moving, kill Zombies to charge it until it begins to move again. All water in the map has turned to lava, avoid it by jumping on the rocks within the lava.
At a certain point, the Seal of Duality will make it's way to the Facility. Wait to interact with the zipline until it moves across. You'll take a bit of damage, but you'll live.
Once the Seal of Duality has made its way to Human Infusion, it will stop moving and begin to shrink, survive within its shield until this process is complete. The Agarthan Device on the ground can now be claimed.
- Step 13: The Agarthan Device
Return to Lighthouse Level 4 and give the Seal of Duality to the Hermit via the pulley. As instructed, navigate to the Sun Deck and spectate the events taking place above the Lighthouse. An object will fall from the sky, you can now finally claim the Agarthan Device found on the Forecastle. Enjoy the cutscene and your achievement will unlock once the game ends.
I hope this solution provided all the help you needed during your Easter Egg run. There's obviously a ton more that can be done to increase your chance of being successful (free Tundra Gun, the Heat Pack, ...) but those aren't required for the Easter Egg so I left them out. - Elixers: Temporal Gift, Aftertaste, Nowhere But Here are great classics; if RNG has been in your favour, the following are helpful as well: Immolation Liquidation, Power Keg, Cache Back, Shields Up, Shopping Free, Near Death Experience (endgame), Refresh Mint, Phoenix Up (endgame)
- Talismans: these aren't required or needed, but starting with a level 2 or 3 specialist weapon might be helpful as well as starting with a free perk or assault rifle. Personally, I used the one to increase shield durability.
- Starting loadout: Strife or MOG12, Ragnarok DG-5 or Path of Sorrows, Wraith Fire grenades
Note: During your run, always kill Fire zombies with snowballs or the Tundra Gun (obtained by the Mystery Box) to obtain a dynamite part. I recommend opening up all the different paths with dynamite, and you'll also need a piece of dynamite during the Easter Egg. Lighthouse Station Totem Challenge 3 Method: Pick up, one at a time, the pee jars from Lighthouse Level 4, around where the Hermit drops the pulley. You CANNOT sprint, jump or drop off any area with the jar, or it will break, and you’ll have to pick it up again. You’ll still have your weapon out, so you can shoot. There won’t be a visual indicator that you have the jar, but there is an audio indicator (pee swishing around). Go down the stairs, and leave the Lighthouse to the right, and go through the Lighthouse Approach aka, the blue rock cave. Veer left once on the beach to the water, and press X once in the water to empty the pee jar (there will not be a prompt, but there will be an audio cue once you empty the pee jar and the counter on your screen will go up). Do this three times for solo/five times for quads, and claim your reward.
You should have enough points to open up the Beach area as well as the two ships. Do not forget to power on the Bridge whilst opening up all the way to the Forecastle. Before we proceed, it is important you have Pack-a-Punched your weapons. The next steps will render all the Pack-a-Punch locations useless and thus making the last step a lot harder than it should be.

Navigate to Lighthouse Level 4 and give the Seal of Duality to the Hermit via the pulley. Survive the lockdown event, then collect the Seal of Duality from the Hermit's pulley. Locate the Pack-a-Punch Machine, as indicated by the Lighthouse, and insert the Seal of Duality into it. Kill Zombies nearby until the Seal of Duality is returned. Repeat this process for each of the 4 Pack-a-Punch locations. Use your Music Boxes or Monkey Bombs to your advantage and use this time to level up your specialist weapon. Once you are done, it's time for the final Orb Game.
- Step 11: The Orb Game #03
Return to Artifact Storage and place the Seal of Duality below the red orb. This time, the orange orb freezing and returning process will stay within the room. Once all orange orbs have been returned, collect the Seal of Duality and place it on the campfire in Sunken Path, throw a Music Box on to the campfire, then collect the Seal of Duality once the dialogue has completed.
Before we proceed, purchase all your perks to increase survivability and obtain a fresh shield.
- Step 12: The Final Push
User the flinger to navigate to the Golden Pack-a-Punch machine on the Iceberg and insert the Seal of Duality into it. Kill Zombies nearby until the Seal of Duality leaves the machine and forms a shield around the player as the map transforms.
Stay within the Seal of Duality shield as it moves throughout the map. When it stops moving, kill Zombies to charge it until it begins to move again. All water in the map has turned to lava, avoid it by jumping on the rocks within the lava.
At a certain point, the Seal of Duality will make it's way to the Facility. Wait to interact with the zipline until it moves across. You'll take a bit of damage, but you'll live.
Once the Seal of Duality has made its way to Human Infusion, it will stop moving and begin to shrink, survive within its shield until this process is complete. The Agarthan Device on the ground can now be claimed.
- Step 13: The Agarthan Device
Return to Lighthouse Level 4 and give the Seal of Duality to the Hermit via the pulley. As instructed, navigate to the Sun Deck and spectate the events taking place above the Lighthouse. An object will fall from the sky, you can now finally claim the Agarthan Device found on the Forecastle. Enjoy the cutscene and your achievement will unlock once the game ends.
I hope this solution provided all the help you needed during your Easter Egg run. There's obviously a ton more that can be done to increase your chance of being successful (free Tundra Gun, the Heat Pack, ...) but those aren't required for the Easter Egg so I left them out. This is the main Easter Egg for Tag Der Toten. It will take around 90 to 120 minutes depending on teammates, map familiarity and a bit of luck, though in my opinion, this is one of the easier ones in the game. Keep in mind that this must be done on Normal difficulty or above.
Recommended Weapons: Any of the Wonder Weapons, Hellion Salvo w/ PHD Slider, MOG-12. Start with Strife with Stiletto Knife or MOG if you have them. Wraith Fire is most useful equipment, though you'll need to get a special grenade through the Easter Egg and you will also use snowballs a lot. Any Specialist will do, though level 3 Ragnaroks can revive people with full perks/
Recommended Perks: Stamin-Up, Bandolier Bandit, Dying Wish, Mule Kick. I also like Quick Revive and Winter's Wail.
Recommended Elixirs: Anywhere But Here, Temporal Gift, Stock Option, Aftertaste (if solo)/Nowhere But There (if co-op). The non-classic elixirs can be helpful if you have good ones but are not required.

Step 1: To progress the actual Easter Egg, you need to complete any two Totems around the map after giving him the blue rock from the cave. In my opinion, you should do the Lighthouse one to get a free self-revive each, the other one doesn't matter as much but the faster thawing from the beach totem is fairly useful. If you want to minimise the risk of crashing at the end, avoid doing any further totems. While you're doing the totems, you'll want to open as much as the map as you can including the dynamite paths, build the shield, obtain the Wunderwaffe from the box or the side-quest, though doing the side quest may increase the chance of crashing. You'll also need to obtain the Samantha Box from another side-quest, this one cannot be avoided.
Free Wunderwaffe: Find a large icicle with a key inside it either at the end of the cave at the Beach, near the door to the Lighthouse Station from Lighthouse Cove or above the door to Lighthouse Level 3. Take it to the end of the Forecastle of the boat and place it in the pot and wait a little while for the icicle to melt. When it’s melted, collect the key and head to Specimen Storage in the facility where you will find a small safe that you can now open. Kill zombies around it until the Vril Device is charged. Pick it up, give it to the Hermit and he'll give you a key for one of the locked boxes containing the Wunderwaffe.
Samantha Boxes: Find two keycards in the facility, one will be in Decontamination and the other in Specimen Storage. Once you have them place them in the slots in the machine next to the desk in the Security Lobby. Once the cards re-emerge, take them then place them into the slots either side of the giant vault in Human Infusion. Have all players head to the area then interact with the vault to start a lockdown, when it's over someone will be able to pick up the Samantha Boxes.
Step 2: Go to the top of the lighthouse and you’ll be given some dials. Head to the Artifact Storage area, in the room with the Cola perk are four circular slots, interact with each one to place in a dial, then keep interacting to turn them until you hear a ding.
Step 3: You'll need to find three offerings. You will be given a hint for each one as you find them, they are some kind of bone or body part. The hints are, in alphabetical order:
Step 6: Head to the Hermit and he'll give you two Soapstones. Head down to the Boathouse, if you keep an eye on the right as you descend the stairs you should see a charred part of the snow, place the stones here. Activate the lighthouse trap to set the stones on fire, pick them up again. Head straight for Human Infusion, on the left in the middle are two slots, interact with this to place one of the stones in the machine. In the door between Decontamination and Upper Catwalk is some icy residue on the floor, place the other soapstone here and activate the ice trap. When this is done, place this stone into the machine with the other one. You'll be able to pick up the fuse in the middle.
Step 7: This step is where you'll need the Wunderwaffe if you haven't already retrieved it! Head down to the bottom floor of the Lighthouse Station and place the fuse into the box next to the big metal door (if you played Call of the Dead, this is where the original crew were stuck). If you head to the top of the Lighthouse and look towards the Facility you'll see a pylon either side of it. If you zoom in with the Wunderwaffe scope you'll notice a red canister on each of them, you must shoot them both with the Wunderwaffe. Next you must charge three generators by killing electric zombies next to them. The locations are:
Step 8: Repeat the entirety of Step 5 with the orbs and campfire. If you'd like to Pack-a-Punch any weapons, do so now as you won't be able to after this point! Once this is done, give the Seal of Duality to the Hermit, all players must be present and interact with the pulley at the same time. You now must survive a lockdown of the Lighthouse until the Hermit is done and returns the Seal.
Step 9: You'll need to insert the Seal of Duality into a Pack-a-Punch machine and kill zombies near it until the Seal exits the machine. This will make the machines otherwise unavailable. You must repeat this for each regular Pack-a-Punch machine. The order is Beach, Lagoon, Sunken Path, Boathouse. When this is done, repeat Step 5 for a final time. On this occasion the smaller orbs won't leave the Artifact Storage. Grab any remaining perks you may want.
"Boss" Fight:
This isn't really a traditional boss fight, though it's the last fighting you'll do for this Easter Egg.

- "Lines berth" - Docks, to the left of the zipline up to Lighthouse.
- "Lungs close" - Lagoon, in the underwater path to Lighthouse Cove.
- "Madness sleeps" - Specimen Storage, on a bed in the room opposite power room.
- "Mountains throw" - Outer Walkway, behind facility flinger.
- "North is found" - Bridge, on compass opposite power.
- "One mysteries" - Lighthouse level 1, on the broken bit of stairs to the left of the box.
- "Power ends" - Human Infusion, right of power switch.
- "Preservation freezes" - Main Deck, in snow next to blue container.
- "Thirst dawns" - Stern, on the edge of the very end of the ship.
- "Aether was gathered" - Geological Processing, melee the board with drawings on it.
- "Cages hang" - Boathouse, melee the board with a map in the back room.
- "Humans suffer" - Specimen Storage, melee the board with diagrams on it.
- "Icy hall" - Ice Grotto, melee the board with drawings on it.

- When you're ready, use the Sun Deck Flinger to get to the Golden Pack-a-Punch. Insert the Seal of Duality into it and kill zombies until it floats into the air.
- A large dome will appear around the Seal, you must stay in this at all times or you'll take damage and eventually go down. All water is now lava, if you step in this you'll also take damage, though there will be platforms you can stand on in them. Follow the Seal. It'll stop a few times. Each time it starts moving again, you'll get a Max Ammo and Carpenter drop. The first time will be on the Main Deck, it’ll then head through Artifact Storage and towards the Lighthouse Cove, where it will stop again.
- It'll now go through to the beach area and up to Lighthouse Station, where it will stop once more.
- It'll now head up the lighthouse and to the Facility. You'll need to time the zipline correctly as the dome won't match your ziplining speed, you'll take damage either way but if you go too early you'll end up going down. The Seal will stop for a final time in Human Infusion. As you survive here, the dome will get smaller and smaller until it's finally over.
- When you can, grab the Seal and take it to the Hermit. Now head to the Sun Deck and look towards the Lighthouse to see a scene. Finally, an object will go flying down to the Stern of the deck, interact with it to get the cutscene. Keep in mind that there is a scene at the end that the host must control, simply walk forward until it ends.
