How to unlock the Combat Recruit achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War - Definitive Guide

Because the other two solutions are not as helpful, I just want to state that I got this achievement only after doing both: "The Final Countdown" AND "Ashes to Ashes" missions. This simply requires you do both [Truth] and [Lie] versions of "Identity Crisis".

I hope this helps clarify.

Also, both of the above are really pretty short missions, especially 'Ashes to Ashes'.

@lel might be Xbox Live, I just had an achievement pop hours after I unlocked it.

This unlocked for me without having to play Ashes to Ashes.
