How to unlock the Ten K achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Definitive Guide

If you play on the "Recruit" difficulty, which is the easiest one in the game, then this achievement will probably be difficult to reach. Whereas this difficulty you have to worry about the amount of kills, head shots and such you obtain during the length of a mission, even on the default difficulty, you will obtain 10,000 points upon completion. It should be a breeze.

If you MUST play on the easiest difficulty, or just want to solidify your 10k, then attempt to finish a majority of the challenges on a given level. Each challenge, regardless of difficulty, is worth 2,000 points. Every mission (not sure about Strike Force) has a challenge to not die, which is 2,000. There is usually a challenge that revolves around the player obtaining some weapon in a stored location that requires the kit to access, so have that kit on!

You can replay any mission at any given time upon completion of the given mission. This achievement should be rather straightforward, so good luck hunting!

EDIT: According to a user, if you fail a Strike Force mission, a score of over 10k is still acceptable and counts toward the achievement.

I still got over 10k on strike force missions even though I failed them (on Hardened), just pointing that out.

Finish the main campaign missions (non strike force) on veteran,
for sure u will get 10,000+ points each mission and then once you finish the game go back and replay the strike force missions on easy, the reason is, strike force on veteran is a pain in the ass, you can do it on whatever difficulty you want to but on easy its a cakewalk.

kill the majority of the enemies in each map and you will get 10k easy. took me around 30 mins to finish all strike force missions on easy.

Ya you have to do strike force missions for this but you can replay them after the game is done.

Don't the Strike Force missions expire at a certain point and cannot be played?

Also, you can fail those and still get more than 10k on 'em

Dumb question...how to I access the Strike Force missions? My son did the campaign and I am cleaning up the achievements but he only did one Strike Force. I don't see how to get to them.

So do you have to do strike force for the achievement? I already beat the game on Vet but I restart the story (for Showdown and Good Karma) before I saw my scores :L

Here's how I earned the Ten K achievement:
1. Set difficulty to "Recruit". Why not make the achievement easy?
General play-throughs should net you 10,000 points or more.
This step alone may earn you the achievement.

2. Strike Force missions are required for earning 10K, but "FOB Spectre" is not. I've 100% confirmed this fact. I earned 10,000+ points in all missions and the achievement did not pop until I completed the Strike Force missions. I still have 9,000-something points in "FOB Spectre", so that mission is NOT necessary.

3. If you somehow didn't earn 10,000 points on a mission (see your career record to see your score), try some easy challenges to add to your points. One easy challenge for all story missions is finding all 3 pieces of intel. Another easy story mission challenge is not dying in a mission (it's on Recruit difficulty, c'mon).

The "Second Chance" Strike Force mission contains an easy challenge of killing 10 enemies while playing as Chloe/Karma. "Odysseus" has 2 easy challenges of hitting 20 enemies with your Combatant Suppression Knuckles and finding Mason's personal items in his bunk at the very beginning of the level. The "Achilles' Veil" mission has an easy challenge for shooting the flying quad drones (I believe 20 of them).

All this will definitely get you the 10,000 needed if you didn't initially. See each video's YouTube page for author credit. An error won't let me manually label the videos with proper credits.

I had 10K in EVERY mission except FOB and did not get the achievement until I replayed FOB and broke 10K. I think you are mistaken that it is not needed.

Sorry, you two. I still haven't bothered breaking 10K on FOB and I have the achievement. I don't know what to say. I'm puzzled.

9 years later but I also had to play FOB in order to get it to pop. I made sure that was the last one I did too but it didn't pop without! I guess you just got lucky MaxForce smile

You get points for the following actions:

  • Kills (10 points per kill)
  • Headshots (50 points per headshot)
  • Melee (100 points per melee kill)
  • Robot / Vehicle Kills (150 points per destruction)
  • Explosive (150 points per kill)
  • Stun (250 points per stunned enemy)
  • Difficulty (5000 points x difficulty level - 4 difficulties in total)
  • Challenges (2000 points per challenge)

You will automatically fulfill the requirements if you play on the second easist difficulty “Regular” or any higher difficulty. The 10,000 points have to be reached in every Story Mission & Strike Force Mission (16 missions in total). At the end of a Mission you will see your score. You can also go to mission select and press to see your career record with all your highscores of each Mission.

In the campaign, you can get scores for each mission. You cannot see while in the mission what score you currently have. You may only see it in the stats screen afterwards. To check which missions you have obtained the 10k, you can look in career stats. Below is a breakdown of the points.

  • Kill: 10
  • Melee Kill: 100
  • Headshot: 50
  • Kill by Explosion: 150
  • Vehicle or Robot Kill: 150
  • Stun: 250
  • Difficulty Levels: 5,000 Increase per Difficulty.
  • Challenges: 2,000

While playing through on Veteran difficulty, you will very likely triple or more most of scores for each level. This seems daunting at first, but it's extremely easy.

At the “Private” level you can earn up to 15,000. The main thing is to kill soldiers and equipment more often, and do not immediately run to complete the mission, because you will have enough time. Tested personally!

In all missions you need to score 10,000 points or more. These are story missions and strike force missions.

When completing the mission Karma , you need to make sure that Defalka grabs the girl. If you save her, then when you complete the game, and even if in all missions there is more than 10k, you will not receive a trophy. And the reason for this is that when saving the girl, the mission of the strike group SECOND CHANCES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE.

Tested by personal experience.

It is enough to complete all missions at the Hardened difficulty level - at the end of the mission you will receive a difficulty bonus of 15,000 and 100% receive this trophy. I myself went through everything on a veteran and at the end of each mission I was given a 25,000 bonus
