it dosnt matter what order you do the rituals in as long as you do the 4 rituals you will get the achievment
from the you can take the 4 gate worms into the rift to open the pack a punch machine
The key to this easter egg is doing everything by as early of a round as possible, this is because one of the later steps (running the flags) is quite difficult on later rounds.
4 people are needed, and it is a good idea that all be decent enough zombies players and familiar with the steps. I also reccomend you set the game to unranked before starting, this does not affect xp or anything, just means you dont show up on the world wide leaderboard. Doing this allows players who had disconnected to join in progress, because 4 people are needed for the final step, you cant finish unless everyone is in the game.
You want to get as much done as humanly possible on round 1, which is actually quite a bit. I reccomend you be very familiar with the map and the locations of everything before trying this.
Ifyou already know how to unlock pac- a- punch skip to step 2
There are 4 ritual spots around the map, being in junction (spawn) and footlight, waterfront and canal districts. Each player should pick a spot they will be unlocking on the first round (it doesn't have to be your character's spot).
First step: Unlocking pack a punch
To start, you want to kill all but 2 zombies on round 1, make sure they do not recieve any damage, as they will need to be alive for a long time. Have any player open the first door for 500 points.
The player assinged to junction is up to unlock the ritual room. The key here is making sure that you get everything you need to before your beast mode runs out. Go to the glowing purple orb in spawn close to quick revive. Turn around so your back is to it and facing the electrical box to the right of quick revive. Hold to turn into beast. Now you must act fast.
Zap the electrical box for quick revive with and turn right to melee the locked door. Head out of spawn, opening a locked box in the back of a truck with a melee as you do, have another character grab this. Now head as fast as you can out the unlocked 500 point door towards the crane. You will see an eelctrical box on the side of the crane, zap this with to unlock the ritual item. Turn around and look up towards spawn, you will see the glowing hook symbol, aim for it and grapple up with Run up the cat walk into Nero's ritual room nd through the door following the path until you get to n electrical box, zap this.
If done correctly you will have unlocked the ritual room and the piece. Have any player grab the fountain pen dropped by the crane and all 4 characters need to head up the stairs the back of spawn to the ritual room. Have the player place the fountain pen in the center of the room on the pedestal and begin the ritual when all four players are in the room (you can not leave or enter the room one it starts). A bunch of ghosts will spawn and your job is to just survive for about 20 seconds until the ritual is done, since it is round 1 you can knife these ghosts in 1 hit (they reward no points so don't waste ammo on them. As long as at least oner player is alive the ritual will continue. Once it is finished the ghosts will dissapear and a giant work thing will appear, have any player grab it. All players are rewarded 500 points each.
Now, the order you do the last three rituals in doesn't matter, but I'm saying the order I did them in, starting with canals.
So open the door to canals and its time for the person doing canals to step up to the plate. Right as you enter canals you will see the beast mode to use to your right.
Activate it and jump down into the canals from an opening in the fence right in front of you. Hed throught the canals hugging the right wall until you see a box behind a cage to your right, melee this. Continue forward a few feet, meleeing the locked door. Keep right, not going up the stairs, and you will see a glowing opening on the left wall with an electrical box inside, zap this. Now is a tricky part, you need to grapple up to the ritual spot. I found it besty to walk backwards towards where you entered the canals and looking up until you see the grapple icon light up. Grapple up there and quickly run down through the building exiting it and zapping the electrical box lowering the stairs.
Again, have someone grab the ritual piece (a police badge located in the box behind the bars) and everyone make their way into the newly unlocked building, up the second stairs and complete the ritual. After grabbing the gateworm a margwa will spawn, which is a new enemy to SofE. Stay away from the margwa as it has a slam attack that kills you instantly without juggernog. He is very slow at first but you need to get rid of him. Because no one has any weapons, it is a little tricky killing him with only pistols, but its not oo hard.To kill him, you have to shoot him a few times in all 3 of his heads, when they are vulnerable. You will see him occasionally open up his eye revealing a bright yellow target, shoot this a few times until iot explodes. After the first head explodes he becomes much faster, and you must do the same thing to the second, waiting for it to open. Once this is dead you have third head, and he is faster still. On early rounds margwas seem quite crazy to take out, but you will eventually get good at it, as you need to kill ALOT to complete this easter egg.
Next up we have the waterfront district, where the guy assigned is up. As you enter the distrcit you will see the beast mode you will use. Activate it and continue forward through the district until you get to a locked door. Turn around and look up and you'll see a grapple spot. Grapple up there and smack the locked box. Now you must do a sick parkour jump towards the boxing gym, jumping over the locked door). Run towards the docks until you get to the boxing gym, smacking it open. Now, have someone grab the belt that fell when you hit the locked box, and go to the boxing gym to perform the ritual. Same thing, perform the ritual and have a player with no gateworm grab this one.
Next up, the final ritual is the footlight district.
This is the hardest one in my opinion. To start you must open both the 100o door into the district and the 1250 door further along. Enter the downtown area of the map and you'll see a beast mode right away. Activate it and run towards the burlesque, grappling up when you can, zapping the box when you land. Now look towards where you entered the area and you should see another grapple spot, grapple over here and go down the stairs. In front of you to the left of the mystery box spot there is a small wooden ramp, stand on top of that and make a leap towards another locked box on a ledge and smack it. Although this is all that is necessary, its smart to jump back and zap the box opening the stairs. Grab the ritual piece (hair piece) and have everyone enter the burlesque, doing the ritual and grabbing the gateworm. This spawns a margwa, so just kill it.
Now you need to make your way to the rift. Head back into canals and jump down into the canal, entering the locked door you opened a while back. Everyone needs to enter this area, where a number of ghosts will spawn, kill them. If you head to the side away from the stairs, the wall will fall apart and you can enter the pac a punch area. To get the pac a punch you must have 2 players place their gateworms on the pedestals to the right and left of where you enter, this will spawn these walls which will allow you to run across. Where the other players must place their gateworms. The wall running is unforutnately necessary for many parts of this easter egg, but it can be quite deadly. If two players collide on the wall they will both fall to their deaths, or often a zombie will jump across and hit you mid run, or a small lag spike can throw you off. Bascially try to avoid running these walls unless absolutely necessary. After placing the gateworms go up the table right as you enter the room and press activating the final ritual, same as the first ones, run around avoiding the ghosts for a few seconds. Once this ritual is complete pac a punch will become available and you will get the achievement.
This certainly seems convaluted just to unlock the pac a punch, but remember this is all done on round 1, the 500 points each for each ritual allows you to open the doors, as well as the 1500 points for each margwa killed. After you get the hang of doing this, it becomes sexcond nature, and the whole thing can be done in 5 or so minutes, but thats just the first step to the easrter egg.
Second step: train symbols
This is the only kind of sort of puzzle solvng part of the easter egg. There are 3 symbols hidden around the map, the only way you can get a sight on them is by taking the train to and from specific deatinations. This also can, and should, be done on round 1. You ned to eaither write down all three symbols, or just remeber them, I reccomend having 1 person hold the 2 zombies while the other take the train. So first you need to go to any train stop, doesn't matter which, there are three total one in each district. At the train stop you will see a map on the wall somehwere (its easy to spot) showing you the three train stops as well as three question marks, showing you the location of the symbols. You will not need more then 2 total train trips to get them all, you look at where the first symbol is and figure out what route to take. So say the trains at waterfront and you see a question mark to the right of the track going from waterfront, and the left of the track going to footlight. So you would take the train from waterfront to footlight, looking out the right window for the first symbol (they are quite obvious, usually through windows and glowing bright red, you only have a second to look at it though so pay attention) and then once you see that, look out the left window for the second symbol. There are about 6 different spots the symbols can show up, and they're different each time. So make sure you have these symbols written down or memorized for the next step.
Third step: zapping the symbols
Down in the rift there is this blank wall on the opposite side of the room from where the pac a punch opens. What you need to do is go into beast mode and look at this wall, a number of symbols will appear to you only in beastmode you need to zap the same symbols as you saw in the previous step. Pretty easy. But, we're still on round 1, and since no one has a beast mode left, you must end the round.
As soon as the next round starts zap the symbols and turn around to smack this large crate containing a squid statue for the next step
Fourth step: filling the eggs
Once you zap the symbols the wall dissolves revealing 4 swords each with an egg in the hilt. All four players must go up to a sword and press x, grabbing an egg. It is a good idea to not kill any zombies for this next step, as you will be powering up these eggs by killing zombies, and you want as many as possible. There are 4 other locations of these statues around the map.
The three other locations of the statues are:
1. In the canal district hug the right wall until you get there after crossing a bridge.
2. In the footlight district: underneath where the perk is, pretty obious after walking in.
3. In the waterfront district: in the "burning room" walk past where the perk is.
Here's how to power up the eggs:
These statues must be opened in beast mode. After being opened, you can place your egg in its arm and any zombies killed will go into the egg powering it up. It takes 12 zombie kills near the egg to power it up, but, this must be done four times at each of the four areas, for each player. Although you cna have all four players place their eggs in the same statue, I reccomend each player goes to a seperate statue, powering up their egg until it is full and moving to another one. You want to get this done on as early of a roun as possible, at this point it is smart ot start hitting the box and buying perks. The best guns you will want to use later on are shotguns like the brecci or haymaker, and the raygun.
Once all 4 players have powered up their eggs at all 4 spots around the map, you must go back to where the eggs came from and hold picking up a sword. This swoird is quite effective even up to higher rounds.
Fifth step: upgrading the sword
This step is pretty easy, it just takes a while. All characters must go their respective ritual locations (the magician in spawn, the showgirl at the burlesque, the cop and the ruby rabbit, and the boxer at the boxing gym) You will see a ghosts standing over your ritual spot, go up to it and hold receiving the arch ovum, which all players need to power up, so how do you do that?
Ther are four red circles around the map. 1 just outside of spawn, 1 right by the entrance to the ruby rabbit, 1 just outside theburlesque and 1 just outside the boxing gym.
I recommend not attempting to try this until there are only a few zombies left on whatever round you are on. Have 1 guy running the zombies. The order doesn't matter, but if a player goes up to a red circle and presses (placing arch ovum) either 1, 2, or 3 margwas spawn. These are special margwas because 1: they only attack the person that put the ovum down, and 2: they do not give any points. however many margwas you spawn, they must all be killed, the other players cna shoot them as well but they will not be attacked by them. As long as there are no zombies around this is quite easy, at this point you should a pro at killing margwas. Once all the margwas are killed, the next player can place their egg. So all 4 players spawn and kill their margwas, and then end the round and do the same thing next round at a different circle. Each player can only place their arch ovum once per round. So after four rounds you all should be finished.
Now simply return to your characters ritual room and give the ghost your egg, they do some magic and return you with an upgraded sword.
Sixth step: running the flag
Once everybody has their upgraded swords, have any player go into nero's workshop (room above spawn) and head towards the bookshelf, theres an open book on the floor, go up to it and hold . Done.
The next step is borderline impossible unless you are well equipped. The best guns are shotguns and rayguns, the brecci being my favourite once it is upgraded. lil arnies (the new monkey bombs, but much better) are also pivotal, and you want as many people as possible with them. Conisder going a few rounds to get points if you do not have adequete weaponry and perks. I also highly suggest you buid the wonder weapon the apothican servant. I'm not going to tell you how to build it here, but look up a walkthrough. It shoots mini black holes that suck everyrthing around it into it.
Once you think you are ready, you need 1 person to head down to the rift, you will see a glowing purple flag there. The other three characters need to go to a specific spot depending on what route you want to take, you must do this step four times in each of the districts. The strategy is the same for all districts, just where you place the flag is different. Heres how you do waterfront:
the character in the rift needs to go up and hold x on the flag, they will put it on their backs. As soon as this happens, all zombies on the map disappear and a special type of round begins. The only enemies that will spawn are meatballs and parasites. and alot of them do spawn. As quickly as you can, you need to run up the stairs in rift and through the portal to waterfront. run out of the alley and you will see a glowing purple circle on the ground. Go up to it and hold , placing the flag down. Now the fun begins!
Chaos will ensue and theres not a lot of strategy beyond go crazy and throw everything you have. Spam out lil arnies and the apothicon servant because meatballs and parasites will be coming non- stop, they will all head towards the flag in an attempt to destroy it, perhaps more importantly then this is keeping an eye out for the shadow man. This guy is the purple dude you see around the map, and he's trying to destory the flag as well. His attack takes a while to charge, and it's pretty obvious when he's doing it, it only takes a few shots to make him stop, causing him to teleport away for a few seconds. If 4 or 5 meatballs hit it you will hear a loud glass breaking noise which means you failed, and the round will go back to normal. you must head back down to the rift grabbing the flag and starting over again. If the flag manages to last abot 30- 45 seconds you will hear a loud ding and you must go and hold x to pick up the flag, this also spawns a max ammo, which is extremely important you grab. If you head towards the boxing gym you will see the next spot to place the flag at the top of the stairs. So simply do the same thing, protecting the flag, don't shy on lil arnies. If you fail here you will need to do the first defend part again. Once this is done, you hear the ding and grab the flag, you arre basically done now, you must run the flag into the boxing gym where it will place itself automatically. Once it places itself it can't be destroyed so you're good to go. This whole thing must be done 3 more times, and its effectively the same thing each time. 2 defends and then bringing the flag to the ritual site.
Here are the locations for the flag spots (they are pretty obvious):
Junction: right beside the crane and a few feet towards spawn.
Canals: Immediately as you enter canals and hugging the right wall a ew meters towards the ritual.
Footlight: Right in front of the gobblegum machine, in the downtown area head 20 meters directly forward after entering the area.
Remember you need to do this step 4 total times, once in each area. This is probably the hardest step in the easter egg. I can not emphasize enough how important having multiple people with lil arnies and rayguns/ shotguns is.
Seventh step: fighting the shadow man
This step can be your downfall very quikly if you are not prepared for it. This all takes place in the pac- a- punch room and as soon as you begin it, you can not leave the area until it is completed or you die. So obviously make sure you are very prepared.
Once you finish the flag run you'll want to save a few zombies and start getting prepared. For this step the guns you're looking for are rayguns and LMGs, (though rayguns are best) from the box, obviously upgrading is smart. As in the previous step lil arnies are absolutely essential to this, the more the merrier.
So you're prepared to fight the shadowman. You want to head into the pap area and all four players need to hold on a pedestal where the gateworms were placed earlier. You'll see the ghosts you got the swords from are standing on the pedestals now. They all will begin shooting lasers at the shadowman, quickly destroying his shield. At this point zombies will begin spawning in and it becomes a sort of infinite round. Though the shadowman doesn't attack you there are quite a few zombies that continuously spawn. As well as soon as the final ghost is activated a max ammo will spawn in the middle of the room.
Fighting the shadowman is easy in theory, but it takes very quick actions. As soon as his shields are down you will want to get quite a few lil arnies out because you can't focus on the zombies while fighting him. So his shields go down and you need everybody to start shooting him, it only takes a few shots until he teleports somewhere else in the room, you have a very small amount of time to start shooting him again. The battle willl continue like this. Shoot him a bit and he teleports and you need to quickly shoot him again the amount of time you have to hit him is decreasing with each teleport, to a point where you have under a second to hit him. You're trying to slowly force him towards the table where you enter the room, and he starts teleporting nearer and nearer to it. You want have a player standing by the table ready to hold the very moment he appears over it, finishing the step You will almost certainly fail a number of times because you are not quick enough. The only real way to do this is basically memorizing his teleportation patterns, because most people won't have the reflexes to shoot him quick enough.
What you do if you do fail is very important, and it is what killed me multiple times while attemtping this. If you fail he will go back to the center of the room, and in order to fight him again you must hold on all the ghosts again. But, his death also spawns a margwa, it is very important that the margwa be killed before trying again. Because everytime you fail another margwa will spawn, and if you get too many there's nothing you can really do. So kill the margwa and try again, if you fail again kill the margwa. Everytime you start the fight again, a max ammo will spawn in the center of the room, grabbing this is very important to replensish lil arnies. This step will likely take you a while, but its really not that hard if you make sure to kill the margwa and grab the max ammo. You need lots of people with lil arnies because you will be downing alot, and its very difficult to pick a person up without them.
It will take you many tries but eventually you will kill the shadowman and move onto the final step.
Final step: Infinite beastmode
This step is pretty easy, it take some serious timing, but failing on it is unlikely.
After killing the shadowman the next step begins immediately. The good news is no more zombies will spawn. The bad news is only margwas will spawn, and it is an infinite round. You will quicvkly notice that your screen becomes infected with this red pulsating overlay. If you leave this it will kill you after about 30- 45 seconds. To cure it you must reach these bright white orbs floating all around the map. After curing it, it will infect you again not long after, so you'll want to be near one of these orbs when it does.
You may notice that the beast mode orbs are all turned off. In order to turn them on you must kill margwas near them. And after being used once it needs to be repowered by margwas. To start just kill as many margwas as you can, trying to power as many orbs as you can. At this point, if you go into beast mode, you can stay in it for a very long time, upwards of 10 minutes. But be warned, margwas will still attack you in beast mode, when usually they would not, if you get hit by a margwa your timer will go down by a large increment, so try to avoid them. Additionally, the red stuff on your screen still affects you in beast mode, and you must go to the white orbs to cure it.
This step requires very precise timing, and is quite diffiult because the map is littered with margwas and they continue to spawn. All 4 players are required, and each player has a seperate task to do.
I'm going to give each player a number to explain this better, here's where they all start:
Player 1 is in canals in the train station in human mode.
Player 2 is in junction in beast mode.
Player 3 is in the footlight district train station in beast mode
Player 4 is in the waterfront train station in beast mode.
Players 1,3 and 4 will be able to see this electrical box looking thing on the roof of their train station which can be zapped in beast mode, making the tracks all blue. These 3 players must zap their boxes at around the same time.
Player 1 has the important task of calling the train, the train must not be at canals to start.
Players 2, 3 and 4 are not doing anything until the train is called.
Okay so player 1 calls the train in human mode. He then quickly runs down the stairs and activates beast mode using the pedestal at the bottom of the stairs. Then, in beast mode, he runs back up to the train station. Now players 1,3 and 4 need to start zapping their boxes in beast mode. Once they are all zapped and the tracks are blue, their job is done.
Player 2 now needs to wait fore the train, in beast mode, in junction.
You will notice the ghsosts from the PAP room are standing around junction. There are only three though. What player 2 needs to do is zap all 4 ghosts as the train passes him overhead. The best vantage point to do this if you jump down to the water area where the crane is. You have about a 10 seond window. If you do manage to do all this right, the easter egg is done.
The challenge with this step is the margwas and red stuff, otherwise its not very difficult, it may take you a few tries.
So you zap the ghosts and the easter egg is complete! You get a cool cutscene which I won't spoil for you. And your reward!!!
A weird looking title .No achievement or anything for doing this very difficult easter egg (the hardest of them all in my opinion).
I'm always down to do this again so mesage me if you want another guy, and good luck!
hopefully this helps you guys out as it did take a lot of time to make and I was a thorough as possible.
You will also require the summoning key found in a box in the starting location
The 4 ritual locations can be found in each of the 4 districts.
Nero (The Magician)
Requires the Golden Fountain Pen
Found just outside starting area
Jessica (The Burlesque Dancer)
Requires Hair Piece
Found high up on ledge in box in Footlight district
Jack (The Cop)
Requires Detective Badge
Found in the canals in a sewer grate in Canals district
Floyd (The Boxer)
Requires Championship Belt
Found high up on ledge in a box in Waterfront district
Once you obtain the specific item, you are required to bring it to each of the 4 characters locations. Their respective locations will require you to enter beast mode and either smash a door open close to the area you found the item or use the grapple technique and use the electric shock to open doors/lower stairs.
From there you will be required to commence the ritual.
Many fire portals will appear as well as several wraiths that will slowly chase you around. You aren't required to kill any of them, you just need to survive about 30 seconds or so.
Once the ritual has finished, the wraiths will disappear and a Gate Worm will be hovering over the table, take it and move on to the next ritual.
I haven't done this with another person, but in solo you can carry all 4 Gate Worms at once. From what I've seen in other videos online you can only carry 1 Gate Worm at a time if there are two or more people in the game with you.
My strategy is to complete the second ritual containing Juggernog in the area, just look for the glowing perk bottle that is red and go for that ritual second. I usually use a Kuda off the wall, get Jug and i'm pretty much safe to complete all rituals as long as I'm careful.
After the second ritual has been completed as well as the fourth, a Margwa will appear. Simply kill it and move on.
Once you have completed the 4th ritual, the trophy will pop.
Along the way you will also unlock the trophy From the Shadows
And if you complete the second and fourth ritual in one round, open Pack a Punch, or if its round 8 and you manage to kill 2 Margwas within a single round you will also unlock Margwa Party.
BONUS: TO PACK A PUNCH
At any point in this process you must open the Rift. There are 3 entrances, one in each locations near where you perform the rituals and collect the character items. Except Nero, the location at the beginning can only be opened once you have already entered the Rift and used beast mode to power open the door.
Go into the Rift and a wall will have glowing symbols on them, it will disappear once all rituals have been completed. Go to the four podiums, put each of the 4 Gate Worms in the podium and begin a fifth ritual (you should already have the trophy by now).
The last two podiums will require you to wall run. No perk needed, just run at the wall and do a wall run as you normally would via multiplayer.
Avoid the wraiths, have a quick convo with the Shadow Man, and then you can jam a weapon into the glowing blue portal at the back of the room.
Also, a Margwa will spawn when the shadowman disappears after the short conversation.
Here is a video by MrRoflWaffles showing you a guide
This is the trophy most thought would be the new Tower of Babble, from Black Ops 2. It's actually just the steps required to gain access to the Pack-a-Punch machine and can be done in the early rounds if you know what to do and have enough points. It requires you to complete all 4 rituals, which are done by using the Beast Form (hold on the purple flames around the map, each player can use one of these flames once per round) to knock down a box containing an item and open up a room containing an altar, then using that item on the altar to summon enemies. These enemies just chase you around the altar room for about a minute before dissipating, ending the ritual. Once all four rituals are complete, the trophy will pop.
Before you are you able to perform the rituals, you must first get the Summoning Key, which is in the box in the back of the truck right in front of you as you spawn. You'll have to smash the box open with while in Beast Form. This can easily be done in conjunction with the Fountain Pen, see below.
- Junction - Fountain Pen: Through the first gate at the start is a crane. Use the Beast Form in the spawning area to zap () the power box on the crane to drop a box containing the fountain pen. Then turn around and look up to see a grapple point, so grapple (), then go into the building and around to the power box to open the staircase. Use the fountain pen on the altar in this room.
- Footlight District - Toupee: In the area with the Black Lace Bourlesque, use the Beast Form to grapple behind the bourlesque sign and turn on a power box to open the bar. Then grapple across to the left, head around to where the Mystery Box in this area spawns and jump across to a ledge where the box sits. Hit it down with . Grab the toupee and perform the ritual in the bourlesque bar.
- Waterfront District - Belt: Open the gate directly past the Mystery Box to the Beast flame. Use it, then grapple the platform in front of you. Turn to your left to see another platform you can grapple up to and knock the box down to reveal the belt. Head down the stairs to the warehouse and smash open the door to get to the altar and perform the ritual.
- Canal District - Badge: Firstly, open the gate across the bridge. Use the Beast Form and grapple above into the Ruby Rabbit, then go down to zap the power box and make the altar room available. Then go into the sewers, smashing open the wooden door and wooden barrier on the grating to the right of it. Head all the way around to the left of the sewers to see a hole in the wall you can go into to zap a power box, opening the grating you smashed open previously to get the badge. Use the badge on the final altar and complete the ritual.
If you want to go to the Pack-a-Punch Machine, head into The Rift (go through the portals found behind the breakable wooden doors, one in each district), then walk up to the wall with symbols on the back - it will open if all rituals were performed. Place the Gate Worms from the rituals on each pedestal and a fifth ritual will begin, which opens up the Pack-a-Punch Machine.
Upon completion of 4, it will be possible to perform the 5th ritual, which will make it possible to improve any weapon.
All rituals must be performed in one game.
