Story-related.

After clearing the first gate, you will be in a cave. You will have to scan 5 more obelisks and destroy them with the Vanguard afterwards. After this area, you will be outside, and must scan 3 bigger obelisks. Once these 3 have been scanned, the bridge will extend and the trophy will pop.
