How to unlock the Egg-stra Awakening! achievement in Call of Duty: Ghosts - Definitive Guide

For this achievement you must shoot all 4 hive locations located in the 4 new multiplayer maps that are a part of the Invasion DLC. You can quit the game once you shoot the hive and the notice pops up. These MUST be done in public matches.


[0:06] - Departed
[0:37] - Mutiny
[0:54] - Pharaoh
[1:26] - Favela
[1:43] - Scan an Obelisk in Awakening

After completing all 4 of these hives, you will need to go into an extinction game of Awakening and then scan an obelisk using the drill to unlock the achievement.

these cheivos are still attainable using the safeguard game mode if you play on xbox live solo you can keep quiting until it gives you the maps you need

For those that still need to do this and don't want to sit through public matches or worry about getting it randomly, on Squads - Wargame, you can challenge a friend in Squad Assault. If they set their HQ to one of the DLC maps, you will always have that map come up when you challenge them. You can then have them change it after getting the egg on that map, and cycle through until you've acquired all of them. For a good video with the locations, refer to MAKA91's awesome video.

Like in the previous two DLC's you must find the four eggs in the multiplayer maps and shoot them. Then enter the new extinction map and scan an obelisk and the achievement will unlock.

I got this achievement no problem on my 360 but when I went to do it on my ONE, every hive I shoot doesn't do a count or anything. Not sure what's going on here....anyone heard of this??

Just follow the video. After you shoot all the eggs, make sure to go into awakening and scan an obelisk and then you should get the achievement.

Yet another achievement from the predecessor chapters. Simply find the hives on each of the new maps (Pharaoh, Departed, Mutiny, and Favela) in a Xbox Live multiplayer matchmaking game, get credit by shooting all 4, and then successfully scan one obelisk in the Awakening Extinction map.

You must play a ranked match on each of the 4 new multiplayer maps: Pharaoh, Departed, Mutiny, and Favela. You will need to find a hidden hive on each of the new maps and shoot it. Once you’ve hit the hive on each map, play Awakening and scan any obelisk. The trophy will pop right after.

Here are the hive locations:
Pharoah – Go to the northern part of the map, the room on the right. There will be a chamber with fire covering the entrance on the north side of this room. Look way back towards the back right corner, and you should barely see the hive off in the distance.
Departed – This one is tricky. In the northeast corner of the map, there is a cemetery. On one of the shelves there is a vase that is coloured red and white. Go up to this wall, and you should see a prompt that will tell you to hold to breach. Do this and the wall will break and hive will be visible to shoot.
Mutiny – Go on the pirate ship, and near the middle you will see a black grating covering the floor. Face towards the east and lie down, looking into the grate. You should see the hive hidden under there, so shoot it!
Favela – Head to the eastern side of the map, then head south. You will see a mini-cemetery and there’s an iron gate behind it. Looking through the iron gate and to the left side, you should see the hive right there.

To earn this trophy, you will need to find the egg in Favela, Departed, Mutiny and Pharaoh. After you have found the 4 eggs in multiplayer, you must scan an obelisk in Awakening. After clearing out the area, you'll unlock this trophy/achievement and a bonus 10,000 EXP in Extinction. Note that you need to be in a public ranked lobby when you shoot the eggs on each of these maps.
