How to unlock the Mayday Completionist achievement in Call of Duty: Ghosts - Definitive Guide

I put together a Solo strategy Video here. I found it to be a lot easier doing this Solo. I have done this numerous times with completing all the challenges, and just like the above guide there is a lot of luck involved. The one good thing about soloing is that there is no gun challenges. I also have found soloing on any map is a lot easier If you are trying to do the completionist, unless you have 3 other like minded people and if you do fallow the tips in the guide above mine. Also sorry about the sound quality in the video. I hope it helps.

Beat it. Other guys got the achievement. I didn't. I did more boss damage and more enemies in final boss than them both combined. Pretty frustrating.

First off I would like to give thanks to FilipJ FryLocke, ICookieCLOWN, and GoBlueFiddler13 for helping me complete this achievement. With that said here is a guide which contains minor spoilers to what we did in our session to get the achievement. To start have a party of 4 players with no relics on and everyone should have a mike. The loadouts we used were:

1. Medic, Pistol, Incindiary Ammo, Sleight Of Hand, Sentry, Riot Shield
2. Medic, Pistol, Incindiary Ammo, Armor, Sentry, Riot Shield
3. Weapon Specialist, Pistiol, Incindiary Ammo, Armor, Sentry, Riot Shield
4. Engineer, Pistol, Incindiary Ammo, Armor, IMS, Riot Shield

The reason for the incendiary ammo is because it works well against the Kraken and has a time based damage effect upon cryptids meaning after the cryptid gets hit it continues to take damage. While explosive ammo also has a time based damage effect you run the risk of getting a challenge to kill only the marked cryptids before others and using exploding ammo can make this difficult. Everyone should have armor except for one person as people seem to go down more often on this map and the boosters are for the people using LMGs. The IMS is quite effective for protecting the drill specifically and the sentry guns can protect players and the drill and finally the riot shields should be equipped and the placed on your back to avoid back damage. It is very important that you do not turn on any traps, weapons, turrets, or buy any sentrys or IMS’s until you know what the challenge is as you could need to spend money or kill with a certain weapon and as you are trying to do that your IMS is stealing your kills or you buy and LMG and the challenge is with an SMG meaning you just wasted $3000. As far as upgrading goes two people need to focus on ammo, two on armor, the weapon specialist should be maxed, one medic maxes out the class and the other medic goes to +3. By the end the boosters need to be maxed and everyone should have armor maxed as you will need it vs the Kraken. As far as the areas go here is what we did:

Area 1: Upon getting off the boat everyone should go and grab the sticky flare schematics which is to the right and up the stairs if you are standing on the boat you enter on. These should be crafted immediately as they will save you in challenges such as kill 10 enemies without taking damage, kill 25 enemies with a certain gun, and don’t take seeker damage (possibly the hardest challenge in Mayday). Once that is done grab any search boxes you can find and do the first hive before any doors so that you have a few skill points. The first hive is usually kill enemies with melee or keep shot accuracy above 50%. For the shot accuracy have one player shoot a single bullet at an enemy, easily done if one is on the drill and then everyone knife. Next do the doors in any order and then the next hive. Some challenges I have gotten were kill enemies while prone, so lay down by holding b and then kill enemies (turning the trap on and laying down counts as kills), kill from 65ft away, if you go in the area where you opened the door on the main level of the area and go as far back as possible and have one person directly opposite of you that is 65ft and you can easily see the drill. Then do the next door and then the hive. This hive requires you to cause the Krakens tentacle to retreat. Have one person the turret in the corner and everyone fire at the tentacle. This will bring you to the final door of the area where a Rhino will spawn. Easiest way we did it was have one person buy a riot shield and block the Rhino’s path and everyone else shoot.

Area 2: Open the venom x door first which would be the door on the left as you enter the second hive area. After you have made sticky flares make the venom x weapon of your choice and there are more than enough tool boxes for everyone but it is not imperative that everyone has a weapon. Then the other door and then the first hive. This area is where you will start to see a lot of Rhino’s and seeders. Both need to be the top priority as far as kills go and at this point one person should have maxed out ammo, one with maxed out armor, and the weapon specialist should be almost done and someone should start to work on boosters. The next two hives shouldn’t be too tough just keep in mind any challenge with no damage or weapon requirements you can use your flares for, that’s why they are there and I suggest everyone know where the shotgun and sniper are in case you get a gun challenge as these are the likely guns. After the second hive there is a hive that requires you to sit in a room overlooking the hive and takes away the ability to repair the drill. The engineer should always be putting down the drill but here especially due to the fact that you cannot repair it. The challenge we got here was to have each player cause damage to enemies. Everyone should take out their pistol and spray fire a few rounds, this works especially well on hunters and should be easy, if not again use the flares. After this the final part of the area is another door. This is the only door with a challenge and can be quite tricky as they send at least two Rhino’s at you at the same time and tons of other cryptids. It’s a good idea to have an IMS right next to the drill here, we got the don’t let the drill drop below 50 health challenge here and the IMS really helped. After that make your way to the third area.

Area 3: There will be two hives outside and three inside here. Do the door outside first. At this point before starting any hives 2 people should have LMGs and the other two should have free weapon slots for gun challenges. Take note of the weapons around. One medic should be maxed out armor should be maxed or close to maxed for at least two people and boosters should be maxed. Keep note of who has flares and keep talking if you get a timed challenge reminding people of how much time there is left in the challenge. I cannot tell you guys how many times I have had people accidentally buy something because they forgot about the challenge, so keep reminding everyone even if it gets annoying, its free skill points. Once inside you are almost done keep reminding people of the challenges use flares for any challenge involving damage and make sure everyone that wants a venom x has one, you can also skip the door inside to make things go a little faster. Also I know someone is going to ask about the lepper challenge and I can say you are on an enclosed boat the map is relatively small and the lepper has been fixed so it doesn’t run as far away as possible you will find it in 30 seconds without feral no problem if you know what to look for (all white as big as a hunter and doesn’t attack) Finish the hives and the last thing before the Kraken is to defend four pipes as you release gas onto the boat. Forget about the bottom two pipes and focus on the top two. Have two players on each of the top two pipes and set up turrts IMS’s and everything you can to make sure that the pipes survive. They are outlined in green at full health and go to yellow, orange, red, and destroyed. You only need one pipe to survive to pass so throw a flare if you must and use the boosters and LMG’s to deal tons of damage.

Kraken: Before going into the Kraken pit stand just above it and survey the battlefield you will be on. The center has an area that looks like a destroyed hive and the four corners have turrets. From the current vantage point the far left and right corner turrets are your best friends as well as the middle. As the fight begins everyone should have an LMG. The weapons specialist will be on the turrets at all times constantly firing on the Kraken. The two medics should be shooting all the cryptids on the battlefield and the engineer should be shooting the kraken all while everyone is throwing down ammo, boosters, and armor. There are tons of enemies and money is not a problem as in nightfall so spend spend spend.Essentially the weak spot is the dot in the middle of the Krakens head this is where you aim. Eventually the Kraken will glow red, this means everyone should get to the center as it is the only safe area on the map where you wont get hurt and it keeps everyone together. If you have flares throw them now and then fire at the glowing dot on the Kraken’s head. This ensures that the cryptids won’t hurt you all while dealing massive damage to the Kraken. After about 25% health is drained the Kraken will go under the boat and to the other side of the ship, now just rinse and repeat the previous steps and continue until the Kraken is destroyed. This is a test of endurance not speed, the Kraken takes a lot to go down just make sure your medics are killing cryptids and reviving when needed and that your specialist and engineer are focusing on the Kraken, it will go down. This does require some luck too guys. We got the don’t damage from seekers on our way to area 3 and even with flares we still didn’t get it. It takes some patience a good amount of skill and communication and some dumb luck. Hope this helps.

If this was formatted, it'd read a lot easier.

Most of the other walkthroughs I looked at on this site read the same as mine did before. I separated the areas and the opening statement so you can see what areas you need to look at but just keep in mind that this is not meant to be read for the area but all together as you may only read one part and miss the something important from another part. Since it is random which challenges you get I made this guide in the order of what happened to us thats why it was originally not formatted so that people would read all of it.

With an epic playthrought I've just unlocked it on SOLO!!
My loadout: weapon specialist, armor, piercing ammo, vulture and anti riot shield (I've also purchased with the teeth fast rehealing and 5‰ more damage.
Some tips for you: Absolutely you need to have always sticky flares and the orange venom-x.
At the end this map is not so difficult ( I've never managed to complete nightfall in solo).
Every time I've tried this, I found a locker key somewhere: do not use it before the final battle: I usually found a customised Lsat and didn't have the weapon challenges except the 15 pistol kills.

I find that explosive ammo does more damage and kills faster than any of the other types of ammo.

The strategy to defeat the Kraken in solo is:
At the start of the fight, the first thing to do is kill the wave of enemies that spawns (best way is use the vulture and the orange venom-x), when you notice that there aren't enemies on the battlefield, take the turret and start to hit the boss, but sometimes you have to check your position and eventually kill cryptids if they are going to attack (if you are using the turret while there is the red fog, you don't take damage). BE CAREFUL: an important thing is finish all the turret ammo, even if you don't see anybody, because if you don't finish them, when the kranen uses the "EMP" and after you have to use another time the same turret, you can use only the remaining bullets.
When the Kraken loses 25% healt and switches side, simply rinse and repeat the same strategy.
Another tip: try to reach the final battle with all 3 "lives".

yeah i def agree that it does kill faster and does more damage there is just one specific challenge to only kill marked cryptids and having explosive ammo can really mess that one up. Not saying it can't be done with explosive ammo I just wanted to point it out to people, I remember restarting a few times due to the explosions killing multiple cryptids.

This trophy is the hardest one in the DLC, but compared to the previous DLC Nightfall, it is much easier to do! You must complete every single challenge in one run of the map, then defeat the Kraken.

Getting this trophy is nothing new compared to previous installments.

You must complete all tasks and destroy the Kraken.

However, in this DLC they added the ability to collect additional items. This allows you to increase the chance of completing tasks, for example, requirements not to take damage from exploding aliens or destroy several enemies without receiving damage before.

The following crafted items help quite a bit in passing. Tesla Trap and Venoms.

Tesla traps come in 3 types. Regular, medium and large.

There is a little trick. Identical Tesla traps placed by the team in a closed circuit (3 or 4 pieces) generate additional ball lightning that fly across the battlefield and destroy enemies.

To get 100% identical Tesla traps you need to do the following (we get three large traps)

At the first location where the landing boat arrives, we do not collect long red boxes. In total, there are usually 18 boxes in two locations (before going up to the deck), so you can collect 6 items. Usually, when playing with four players, we collect the following 3 items. Venom and 3pcs. Tesla traps.

Now, how to get the same components for a large trap.

After completing the first part, the fight with the tentacle and access to the workbench with the Tesla-trap (and Hypno-trap) circuit, we don’t start collecting traps. First, we open the room with the third workbench, on which there is a diagram for Venom. This room is located on the left side of the exit to the next location. One player takes the Venom diagram and opens the first red box with components for it (this will always be a deactivated Venom) - install the element in the diagram. We find the next red box and open it. It will always be an organic battery , which is the element that is necessary to obtain a large Tesla trap . We do not install the element in our circuit (it will be taken by those who will collect Tesla traps). We open two more red boxes and only then, having found the fourth, we install the element (organic battery) on our Venom.

Having completed the collection of Venom (and having made it), you can take the circuit for the Tesla trap and assemble it. Venom will not disappear and will not interfere.

Three (or more) large Tesla traps installed in a closed circuit do not allow enemies to pass through (only a rhinoceros can break through, and even then not far), and also perfectly destroy enemies in a large perimeter around them. The most interesting feature is the generation of ball lightning, which does not disappear from the battlefield for a long time.

Traps can also be stretched in a line and formed into an impregnable barrier.

Typically, the life of a large Tesla trap is enough for two drillings.
