How to unlock the Survived Mayday achievement in Call of Duty: Ghosts - Definitive Guide

Hey guys, I'm going to do my best to help you nail this achievement. First off its not going to be easy. I highly suggest setting up a session here on TA and make sure the people joining have a basic knowledge of extinction.

Ok so you have your awesome team, next thing to do is chose classes and loadouts.

Classes
The easiest way for our team was to take TWO medics and TWO weapon specialists. The medic is crucial to max out for the team health regeneration (at least one medic should do this). The weapon specialists should obviously max out their class tree for the damage upgrades.

Loudouts
I highly suggest incendiary ammo because the explosive ammo blast radius has been reduced and the incendiary ammo does deal damage to every enemy over time if they run away.... Believe it or not it drops rhinos fast.

Three people should choose shields, and the last should choose team boosters.

I suggest everyone picks the vulture drone because the aliens can not jump on them and destroy them....trust me you don't want to baby sit sentry guns. Plus the Kraken will destroy those sentry's with his fuzzy screen attack

Every player should equip the riot shield!!! This is a must!

Upgrade system
Ok so we covered class and load out, next is the new teeth upgrade system. If anyone has 15 teeth they could upgrade the medic for the instant heal and revive upgrade OR the amazing weapon specialist extra damage and ammo ability. Both of these upgrades are AMAZING for this achievement, but NOT needed. We didn't have these when we unlocked completionist. Also if someone has 5 teeth and are dropping ammo they could upgrade the incendiary ammo for 5 teeth.

Challenge upgrade points
What to upgrade first with challenge points.
Again medics max out the medic tree.....team regen, weapon specialist max weapon specialist tree for damage.

You will need all three players dropping sheilds so max them out as well and three players at least should have maxed out ammo as well. Team boosters are not really necessary to max out, BUT they are critical for the boss so max them out by then. Also try to get the pistol up so you can carry two weapons! This is a must due to many weapon challenges. Try to dump any remaining points into your vulture drone and riot shield.

OK moving on....

Schematics
Every player should grab the first schematic called sticky flares and make them and SAVE AS MANY OF THEM AS POSSIBLE FOR THE BOSS AND OR THE NO DAMAGE CHALLENGE OR KILL 10 SEEKERS BEFOFE THEY EXPLODE CHALLENGE!!!

After all players have the 2 sticky flares allow ALL players to grab a venom x schematic and craft those for sticky situations and the final boss fight. There are more red boxes than you think....search the entire map when possible and open all doors for these boxes!

Its possible for everyone to have sticky flairs and all four people with a venom X!

Weapons
At least one weapon specialist will need an LSAT machine gun with any scope...preferably an acog or any scope with a zoom. Rapid fire and grip would also be great! I suggest three players grab a honey badger (assualt rifle) and for back up weapons one player should get a sniper rife, one player a SMG (mtar) and one player a shotgun....simply because there are many weapon challenges that pop up!

REMEMBER once the challenges are over and before you defend the green gas valves you can dump these weapons and buy new ones from the last area before the boss!!!!

Challenges
Most challenges are straight forward but I will go over some tougher ones.

Any challenges that require you to kill from a specific distance.....two people should go to one side of the map near the drill and the other two should run farther away but still in sight range of the drill....now each two man team will shoot the other teams enemies when the enemies have a white outline. Should be very easy to get this way.

Kill 10 seekers before they explode.... One person can toss a flare and the seekers will go to it, be sure to kill seekers as soon as you see them though and every player should put out their vulture drone. You may need to burn 2 flares for this unfortunately.

No damage taken challenge.
Again toss flares...send out one flare and all 4 players should seek high ground if possible and stay close together, all 4 players should put out the vulture drones as well and this is also the time to use that venom X as well. You may need to burn up to FOUR flares for this sadly.

Any weapon challenge.... If you don't have the weapon required you can buy it if its available or run around and support the player that does have the weapon. It seems like at least two of these challenges will show up... So be prepared. Again flares would be helpful here as well as team boosters. Again up to 4 flares could be burned here unfortunately.

Boss fight
Ok so you made it to the boss with all challenges complete, take a breath and hold on to your ass!!! This is going to be a rough ride.

First things first, those amazing flares we discussed....ONLY toss them if the crap really hits the fan, such as two or more players down or if you get over run with seeder turret spam.

ALL FOUR PLAYERS WILL NEED TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHIP!!! This is your Alamo, this is your home, this is your house!!! Defend it!! The reason for this is simple, the kraken will heat the floor eventually and this is the only safe spot and its the best spot to get precise hits on the krakens orange head hole. Besides that medics heal others faster when close and IF anyone goes down you will all be somewhat close!

Now the weapon specialist with the LSAT will be the man doing most of the damage to the kraken, when the kraken's small head hole glows orange the weapon specialist (both of them if possible) will fire into that small head hole and deal MASSIVE damage.

While all of this is happening players must be dropping ammo and sheilds for other players or themselves, be sure to be vocal about going down or needing supplies! Also now is the time for team boosters so the two weapon specialists can reload faster and do more damage to the kraken! Two players should always be focused on the alien enemies and never the kraken, especially be on the lookout for seeders and kill them asap. Use the venom x if the crap hits the fan, and flares if absolutely needed.

During the fight be sure to equip riot shields for extra protection and vulture drones for assistance.

Eventually the kraken will switch sides....simply repeat the above processes.

If the aliens over run you then switch to ONE weapon specialist focusing on the kraken and three people on the aliens. The weapon specialists should also kill aliens while the kraken is NOT vulnerable.

Anyone not dropping supplies should drop extra cash for the people who are dropping the supplies.

Always try to have those vultures out!!

Good luck guys, please feel free to add tips in the comments as well as results.

I can't unlock this achievement. I have beat extinction 3 times on normal difficulty and still no achievement. Then I compare ghosts to a friend and it says 100% but I don't get the gamer score for it! If anyone knows how to fix it send me a msg

Story-related.

You will get this trophy once you finish the map by defeating the Kraken.

When you first get to the Kraken, he will spawn on the left side of the map. Go to the right side, and get into one of the turrets in the corners. You will then use the turrets to fend off the swarms of Cryptids that he sends after you, then afterwards use them to kill the Kraken.

The boss’ patterns are the same for the entire fight, he will send out a bunch of Cryptids to kill you while also trying to crush you with his tentacles. Then after that he will light up, and heat up the floor, which will damage you and can kill you. You must be standing on the hives on the floor or you will take damage. At this point, if you are in a turret, you won’t take damage since there’s a small hive at the base of each turret console. When you see him light up, shoot at the weak point on the top of his head to damage him. You may also want to place a Sentry or an IMS next to your turret so you have some extra protection.

After taking off about 1/4 of his health, he will send out an EMP, which will destroy any placed equipment and disallowing you from using abilities temporarily. To avoid taking damage from it, just hide behind a shipping crate, and you won’t be affected by it.

After the EMP, he will go under the ship and reappear on the other side. Then he will simply repeat the pattern until you defeat him.

Beating him will most likely take 4 rotations, maybe more depending on how much you damage him.

The Kraken itself only takes damage when it becomes possible. A voice behind the scenes tells us this. This happens at the moment when he removes the tentacles from the battlefield (and turns a little red). It is at this moment that all players need to fire at the red areas on his head. After receiving sufficient damage, he disappears from sight and already appears on the opposite side (we, accordingly, run to the place where he was before).

This is repeated 4 times.

Until the Kraken opens for defeat, the team needs to fight off small creptids.

If the Kraken released red smoke (heats the floor), then there is only one place on the deck that does not cause damage - its central part. This is where everyone needs to run.

The red smoke will remain until the team shoots the tentacle that this smoke is releasing (it will stand on the deck and glow red).
