Destroy all enemy ground targets and kill no allies with the rods.

How to unlock the They look like ants achievement in Call of Duty: Ghosts - Definitive Guide

You can get this achievement during the 17th mission called "Loki". As with every other misc. achievement in this game you can play the mission on the easiest difficulty setting and still get it!

At the end of this mission in space (sadly without the dog, missed opportunity by IW right there) you will take over the space station to support your troops on the ground.

When you are controlling the station you can use RT to fire up to three rods at a time. Their blast radius is marked with a circle on the ground (but at least to me it seems like the radius is slightly bigger than marked). Keep in mind that after the three rods hit the ground you can immediately fire three more. You can cover a big area by just spamming the rods. You don't have to destroy the helicopters only the marked ground units.

There will be three areas that you have to clear.

1. This is the easiest one as there are no allies you could hit. Just start at bottom left end of the enemy group and make your way through their lines spamming the rods using RT.

2. This time around there will be allies on the right side and on top. If you're being told over the com "that you should watch out where you are firing" it means you hit an ally and you should reload the last checkpoint.

Start at the bottom right with the units that are closest to your allies (the units with the blue marker). Take out this group with your three first rods from right to left. Now it's time to take care of the second group. Don't move up your fire area too much up or otherwise you'll kill your allies. Just make your way from the right to the left side again.

3. With this last batch of enemies your allies will be on the left side of the opposing forces.

Start on the top right and make your way to the left. Spam your rods and try to not miss any units.

*Note: Video was taken on the 360. I can replace it with a video taken on the One but I don't want to put two copies of each achievement on my YT channel. If somebody would rather see an Xbox One video let me know and I'll happily provide one for you. Thanks for reading*

Hmmm that sucks for you guys =(

If you find a way to unlock it please post here so I can put it into the solution. It might help out other people who are having similar problems.

I unfortunately can't help. Got it pretty much without any problems on both the 360 and X1.

Hope you can fix it without having to rely on a patch or something

It took me about 1,5-2h to get it. Maybe its bugged but eventually worked for me. Seems like during 3rd wave you won't be told you killed someone ("watch out..." blah blah) especially at the very end as it immediately progresses to next checkpoint (hit the train). Annoying as f...! Just be patient and you will get it boys.

I just got this on XB1. Already had it on XB360. Takes a while to pop afterwards, when they're looking at the train on the screen.

Not sure if some of the cheevos are glitched for some people, cant get the jungle stealth one to pop. :/

Took me about 30 minutes. Found a small glitch to fool the check point system. When you reach the computer to launch the rods. You will get a checkpoint. Save and quit. Come back and play through. If you screw up. Press the dash button. Then menu button, then quit ghosts altogether.

Launch ghosts again and it will bring you back into either loading the level straight away or the main menu, just resume game. You will now be set at the end of launching the rods. Simply reload checkpoint. You will now reload back at that checkpoint where you saved and quit right before you jump on the computer.

A lot faster then replaying the level over and over

My chevon popped right when Merrick says Hold on,

This worked for me on XOne, placed my rods in same places as in the video, but as soon as I heard Thomson check your fire I reloaded last checkpoint. As others have said the chievo popped a little later than in video.

Mine popped after they'd already pulled up the video monitor with the train on it. So be patient if you think you got it.

On the third stage, I also worked top left first, and then left to right. Snuck in a total of 9 shots in final stage.

not bugged... just have to take out EVERY enemy, which is surprisingly difficult. Be patient, and place each strike exactly where the video does. Do not waste time on the third section, spam missiles like there is no tomorrow because they cut you off quick. Also, could not get the save and quit "glitch" to work on the XB1. Could be just me, but The level only take like 7 minutes after you play it 5 times anyways so it's not a huge deal.

You can still spam the Rods AFTER the guy says "ground targets will clean up the rest". Just destroy the enemies before the ground troops do...

Everyone replying with “it’s not bugged, you just have to kill everything”, thank you for stating the obvious /sarcasm

It’s pretty easy to kill every thing, the bit I believe what was tripping me up was hitting friendlies (probably in part 2) with no comment like the one mentioned in the guide. This is probably because I killed them too quick and the next area’s dialogue cut in before the friendly fire one.

As the guide actually mentions, the AoE appears to be larger than the targeting circle. SO, if you’re killing everything and not popping, make sure to give the rods some extra buffer distance from the friendlies

I think what bugs the shit outta me with this one is that you don't know you've failed a decent amount of the time until you're already past the next checkpoint meaning you have to restart, granted its not a long level but its still frustrating.

On the first section you can fly under the latch that opens and come up from under it and fly in. Shoot the two that are in there and don't worry about the rest. It will push the destructive sequence. And save time on replaying this. Must be on recruit.

Its the 3rd lot of vehicles that are tricky,i was going right to left initially & 1 or 2 would always survive so i tried left to right spamming cn_RT in the top middle whilst being careful with the aim & this worked well. Also the save/quit at the start of this section is important so if you fail on the 3rd area you just presscn_guidethencn_start & select 'Quit' then give it 30 secs & load up the game & pick 'Resume game' from menu to start back at the starting point.

I don't think it's buggy, just hard. It took me about 30-45 minutes to get this and every time I failed there was a ground target still there highlighted in yellow. Sometimes I had to look around (move the drone camera) to see the one(s) remaining at the end of the run due to the position of the drone.

Some targets that were remaining I swear I put a rod right on them, but yet there they were. So, be sure to spam the target areas, which makes it harder to avoid your allies with the moving drone camera. It will take some practice.

Also, the Xbox One cheevies seem to pop several seconds later for me then the equivalent Xbox 360 cheevies. For instance, this one (Xbox One) didn't pop until I was already zoomed into the monitor looking at the train carrying the Ghosts. On this video, for Xbox 360, it popped when the character was still looking at the monitor before focusing into the direct train feed. This makes it extra difficult for the Xbox One since you'll miss your chance to restart the checkpoint if you wait the extra time for the cheevie to pop and you didn't succeed. Don't wait for the cheevie unless you are sure you got all the targets. Again, just takes some practice.

My only other advice is to move from left to right and then down on the 3rd group of targets.

Sorry in advance for long winded comment.

Mission 17: Loki

Progress through the mission until you reach a control laptop where you take control of a remote drone that guides rod missiles. At this point you need to make sure to kill all the enemies (marked in red) and not kill any allies (marked in blue). Use 2-3 shots to take out the first group, and ensure that no enemies survive. Next, wait for the train to pass a little bit, and when the next group of enemies appears be careful so that the blast doesnt kill any of your troops near the tracks. After this group, more enemies will appear. Start with the group in the back and make your way around.

It can be very hard to tell if you killed one of your own allies. You can tell that you hit one if they say "Thompson, make sure your shots are on target!". At this point, restart the checkpoint immediately. Also restart if you missed an enemy.

The achievement will unlock when the camera goes back to the space station. If it doesn't, you have to restart the entire level.

Note: You don't have to take down enemy helicopters for this to count.

In the 17th mission, Loki, there will come a part where you have to control rods through a laptop in order to provide support to ground troops who are being overrun. To get this you must kill all the enemies (not including helicopters) and not kill teammates. The only way I know of to know if you hit your teammates is Merrick will say "watch your fire" or something along those lines. If you hear this, be sure to reload the checkpoint which will take you back to the start of launching the missiles, because as soon as you finish this section, before the achievement pop, you will hit a checkpoint. So if you did hit any of your pals, you will have to reply the entire mission to get back to this section. Also, if you take too long lining up your shots, the ground forces will be "overrun" and you will have to restart the checkpoint

Simply load up the campaign mission 'Loki' and proceed through the mission until you activate the console. You must be really careful and precise with your shooting, a general tip I tried to follow was start from your allies and aim at the targets closest to them first (making sure to not shoot any of the blue) and then finish off the remaining enemies, time is not your friend here so you must try and be quick and if you do not get everyone, revert to the last checkpoint. You can be unlucky with the final wave of enemies and hit a checkpoint before the blasts have occurred and this means you have to restart the mission if you do not kill everyone so beware of that (I had to restart 4/5 times).

I created this video to help:

Hope this helps.

Probably one of the harder trophies in game to earn, and it missable, thank heaven for chapter select, its available on the mission loki, when you go to the space station, after its destroyed, you have to fight a little and when you take hold of a small computer this is your moment. only advice i can give is try to use only 3 blasts on first two waves, shouldnt be a problem just keep trying and reload from last checkpoint, this shoukd give you about 6 or 7 shots on the third wave. if you hear something along the lines of watch your shots, just reload the checkpoint ( be quick or have to do whole mission again :-( - good luck people

Chapter Select: "Loki".

About halfway through the mission "Loki" you will have to take control of a station similar to the ODIN one in the first mission. Once you gain control of the missile launchers, you will have to shoot enemies on the ground with fuel rods. Enemies are marked with orange crosses, and allies are marked with light blue crosses. You have unlimited fuel rod strikes you can use so don't worry about running out of ammo. All you have to do is make sure you kill all the enemies on the ground (jets and helicopters do not count towards the trophy). Just make sure when you are firing you keep the circle marker away from the light blue crosses. The game will tell you if you have hit an ally and if you hear this immediately restart the checkpoint. Here is a video showing how to do it:

The trophy shouldn't be too difficult, but there is one hitch:
You not only need to avoid hitting your comrades, but also kill all your opponents using ODIN.
I’ll add on my own behalf that if you get hit by your own people, Merik will shout something like: Watch your fire! Have you heard this? Feel free to restart the checkpoint. Be careful, because after the last forces are destroyed, a new checkpoint will be activated and if you don’t get the trophy, you will have to restart the entire level!

In the Russian version of the game, during a bombing, if you hear “Thomson fire at the target,” you can immediately restart the control point, you hit your own.

There is a limit on salvos; the first two waves can be easily destroyed with three salvos each.

I’ll also add that the trophy falls after the third series of salvos and returning back into space to the loading screen on the monitor. Therefore, do not restart the mission after meeting the conditions, wait until you return to space. If you played something on PS5, and on it trophies fall instantly without delay, so on PS4 it makes sense to wait a little longer after returning to space.

I'll describe how to get the trophy as easily as possible - because... You will very often have to start the mission over again, then the difficulty will be set to Rookie. As soon as you land at the beginning of the level, move forward to the entrance to the space base: the script for the explosion of the fuel tanks will work and you won’t have to shoot everyone and wait for this script to work itself. Afterwards, you will be immediately thrown back to the “2nd phase” of this level, then go along the left side: due to the low difficulty you will be indestructible + the enemies, crazy from such insolence, will be an easy target for you.

Next there will be a “3rd phase” of the level in which we will receive the trophy - here I just want to give advice for the last blow by Odin (since the first two are not difficult at all) start hitting from left to right, this will make it easier to keep track of the destroyed equipment in outbreaks of explosions.
