How to unlock the Throttled Survival achievement in Call of Duty: Ghosts - Definitive Guide

If you are playing Nightfall co-op, there is an easier way to get this achievement.

Go into custom match, invite everyone you are playing with, and make sure JOIN IN PROGRESS is allowed for the game.

Set up your loadout however you prefer and start the match. Play till the end of the facility, but BEFORE you start the final boss encounter, have whoever is NOT host quit out to lobby, equip the Small Wallet relic and rejoin the session in progress (I recommend no more than 2 people quit out and do this, so the fight will be a bit easier). Those people will spawn in with a pistol and some skill points. Spend the skill points on whatever you have that's most useful, run back to the facility, grab the Venom-X, buy an LMG if possible, then go kill the boss.

**NOTE** You can drop money for other players in Extinction by aiming at the ground while holding LT, then pressing and holding A for about 5 seconds.

The achievement will pop when the game ends, and you just saved yourself a lot of trouble instead of trying to run through all of Nightfall with a relic.

And in case it was not obvious, the host will NOT be able to do this trick because the host is the host. You'll end the game lol.

This still worked for me as of the first patch that fixed Onslaught bugs. If you have any issues with this solution, please leave a comment with what's going on.

The best way, maybe the only, to complete Nightfall with a relic is play it in co-op (4 players) with a good team, but I suggest no more than 1 player should use a relic.
There are a lot of enemies, phantoms, hunters and rhinos, so no way to use only the pistol or take more damage and do less damage, I completed it using Small wallet. (you can carry only 3000 credits and obtain less money killing aliens).
If your teammates provide you ammos and powerups, such as feral instinct or stamina, return the favor deploying armor, that's a must-have in this map (only 1000 credits but useful) and buy a good weapon, such as the Arx-160 (seems strange but I love Vector, because you have fast reloading and moving) and Sentry gun to protect the drill.
In my opinion, the perfect team is formed by 2 medics (I finished as a medic, using the relic), a weapon specialist (
his damage with weapons is fundamental against big enemies) and an engineer (drill and traps powered), using explosive ammos and sentry guns, the real key even if they are less powerful than in Point of impact.
Last tip: it's better do not use a relic if you are hunting to complete all challenges.
Hope this helps (and sorry for my enghlish, but I don't like translators)..

View "Survived Nightfall" for a good team set-up, I would recommend using it during a relic playthrough.

There are various ways to do this achievement. I would recommend doing this with a team of 4 people who have already beat Nightfall at least 1 previous time. Next, I would recommend having only two players using a relic at a time, and then switching and playing through a 2nd time. Having all four players with a relic could prove dangerous. If doing this with a good team of 4 players, two players should be able to use the "Take More Damage" relic while still being able to get through the level.

If you're doing this with a team of four players that will be taking turns getting the achievement, I would recommend that someone pairs the engineer class with "Smaller Wallet". After upgrading the engineer class to level 5, your wallet will hold $5000 which is still a good amount. You'll also be able to easily earn a good amount of money with traps and other kills. Another option when taking turns is that one player uses "Mortal" (No class selection). Based on the set-up in the screenshot above, it would probably be best if the ammo-supplying medic used this relic.

I do NOT recommend the "Pistol Only" relic for the Nightfall map because it is a lot harder than Point of Contact and is based more on offence than defence. The sentry has also been updated to reduce its power. Also, "Do Less Damage" isn't recommended either as you need as much fire power as possible.

Relics are select limitations from your loadouts that, while limiting certain things (i.e. inflicting damage, wallet size… etc), grant you additional in-game bonus points. In the overall game, the bonus they grant you upon the destruction of each hive is meagre in the greater scheme of the overall gameplay. Some Relic limitations can be ‘overridden’ using certain loadouts. For example, “Smaller Wallet” Relic limits your max amount of money to $3,000. That can be altered with a maxed out Engineer class, that allows you to carry up to $4,000 with the Relic equipped.

However, based on experience and user feedback it is best, in the case of this map, to use “Do Less Damage,” which slightly reduces the damage inflicted on enemies. This is washed out by having a full, 'Relic-less' teammate. Also, while not necessary unless you have a full team, you could use a maxed out “Weapon Specialist” that increases the bullet damage by 50%.
