How to unlock the Batteries Not Included achievement in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - Definitive Guide
This can only be done in the same game that you completed the Easter egg on if you die before completing this achievement you'll have to re-do the Easter egg
To unlock this achievement you need to get a gun and put an arcane core onto it after that's done you want to get one of each of the elemental upgrades (you should know how to do that by now considering you completed the Easter egg) but we are doing them 1 at a time after you get 1 elemental upgrade on your gun and you have the crystal out of the gator alien things jaws you must go into the pack a punch room and place that element inside the machine that looks exactly like the one in the gator alien things jaws.
after you place whatever element you got first in there you must repeat the process for the other 3 after you do that you should notice that all of your exquisite stickers are now filled you must now run over to where the gator alien thing resides and inside his grilled out mouth you'll see a purple orb at the top of the machine purchase it for 2000 and boom you're done
As with any miscellaneous achievement in this game, good Fate and Fortune cards and Director's Cut help a ton, but are not necessary. Try not to kill zombies unnecessarily and get good at the arcade games as you'll need at least 600 tickets.
As this is a longer achievement this will be a longer guide...peep the spoiler for the quick and dirty.
Reference these numbers to the numbers within the guide*
THE ARCADE (2)
Get that money, son. You'll need at least 600 tickets, so at the end of the round save a few slow zombies and dive into some games.
Rings of Saturn Basketball is your best friend. "SWIIIIISH". You can max out at 120 tickets a turn if you are quick enough (Quickies/Speed Cola do help).
Zombie Zoom maxes out at 50 tickets for a win. The key is to tap the trigger rapidly instead of holding down the water gun spray.
Cryptid Attack nets you 100 tickets for a perfect score.
Black Hole is a bit random, but can give 50 tickets for a jackpot.
Get to the end of a round and keep a few slower zombies to make this easy on yourself. No sense rushing around at the start of a round possibly getting downed.
THE STEPS
1) Early rounds just open up the map to get power on. In each area, activate the power switch and then a teleporter terminal. After activating the terminal, hop into the newly powered portal. You will repeat this for every area:
- Journey Into Space (left side of map facing away from spawn) - power switch behind two paid doors. On the wall just before the bumper car area. Teleporter is behind the DJ booth (Between 4&6).
- Astrocade (after purchasing the Journey door, head right) - Once inside the arcade the switch and teleporter are immediately to the right (2).
- Triton (straight ahead from spawn) - head up the snowy entrance all the way to the gift shop where the teleporter resides. Up the ramp is the power switch behind a purchasable door (Between 8&10).
- Kepler (right side of map after leaving spawn) - Head left once up the ramp to see the teleporter. Buy the door leading up to patio to see the power switch (13).
2) Once all teleporters have been used, turn around and use the Projector Room Portal (17) to head to the Pack-a-Punch area. Inside, hold on the table with the tiny UFOs to send them flying into the map. Go ahead and pack your Kendall pistol when you can ($5000) and grab Bombstoppers (area 15, no explosive damage) and Tuff Nuff (area 4, extra health).
3) Head to any of the vendor carts around the map and purchase an Arcane Power core for your packed Kendall.
-Begin at any trap in the four areas (3,4,8 and 12) that has a UFO flying around and get 15-24 kills within ONE USE of the trap you want and the UFO's exhaust fire will change colors. Best thing is to start a round, horde up all you can, purchase the trap and then run them though.
-Once you've gotten the trap kills, the UFO will start flying around the area, follow it and kill zombies near it (with a weapon that has an Arcane Core) to charge it with souls.
-Once you've filled it with enough souls, the UFO will drop a tiny elemental orb. Hold to pick it up and put it on the weapon you're holding (as long as it has an Arcane Core).
4) Progress rounds until a large Brute spawns in (usually round 10). Take him to the Crocodile Teeth trap (be careful it closes automatically after you run under it) and run him through as it's closing. He will lift his hand to stop the jaw from clamping resulting in some broken teeth. Dispose of the Brute by spamming head shots to remove his helmet and again to kill him.
5) Purchase the gold teeth from the Astrocade prize counter and install them in the Crocodile trap by holding on the lower empty teeth. This will reveal a machine behind the Crocodiles tongue.
6) There are four panels on the machine that can be shot off once you've finished an elemental core upgrade (each panel corresponds to a specific core, so shoot them all after you picked up an orb).
7) After shooting the machine panel to reveal a colored gem, grab it and take it to the Projector Room and insert it into the same machine on the left side of the room. Repeat this entire process for all 4 colored orbs/gems.
8) Once you have placed the 4 elemental gems inside the Pack-a-Punch machine, a purple core will fly out of the Projector Room and fly to the top of the machine in the Crocodile's mouth. Run back to the trap with your Arcane Core equipped weapon and purchase the purple X-Quisite core for $2000 (and pop your achievement).
Much of the information needed can be found in the trophy guide for Rock On!
In my guide for this trophy I have detailed how to obtain each gem as well as the UFO trap steps.
Essentially the steps you need to complete are as follows:
- Turn on all 5 power switches
- Activate all 4 teleporters
- Enter Projector Room and hold on the table to the left of the soul jar to release UFOs
- Buy an Arcane Power Core (I found it easier to buy 2, and have 2 weapons equipped with it)
- Purchase Golden Teeth from Astrocade
- Wait for Brute to spawn in and get him to shatter the Crocodile trap's teeth
- Place golden teeth in Crocodile trap's mouth, machine will appear in mouth.
- Go to Journey into Space, Kepler, Triton, and Astrocade areas and complete the elemental upgrade piece for your weapon.
NOTE Only obtain 1 elemental effect at a time (2 if you have 2 weapons with Arcane Power Cores.)
- Obtain the corresponding gem in the Crocodile's mouth, and then head to the Projector room.
- Inside the Projector room is the same machine as in the Crocodile's mouth. Holding on it will take the elemental effect off your weapon and place it in the machine.
- Do this for all 4 elemental effects and all 4 gems. Once completed a coloured orb will move from the machine in the Projector Room to the Crocodile trap's mouth.
- Purchase Exquisite Core from Crocodile trap's mouth for $2000 to upgrade whichever weapon has an Arcane Power Core
As soon as you have purchased it, you will have your trophy.
--- This trophy took me around an hour to complete ---
NOTES
-You do not need to build any of the wonder weapon pistols for this trophy. You just need to collect the gems and place all 4 elemental upgrades in the Projector Room machine.
-When the game came out, you had to complete the main storyline easter egg before you could purchase the Exquisite Core. There was a patch for the game and this is no longer the case.
-The Exquisite Core is extremely underwhelming. The amount of work required for it just isn't worth the hassle (except for earning the trophy.) I wouldn't recommend attempting this while simultaneously working towards the main storyline easter egg.
Sometimes videos better clarify things, so here is a video I found.
This trophy is awarded for creating and then purchasing an Exquisite Core in the Zombies in Spaceland map. The Exquisite core is a special arcane core element that you can get by completing the other 4 Arcane Core elements, then placing the 4 Element types from your guns into the machine on the left side of the Pack a Punch room. This then makes a Purple core orb that appears in the machine in the Dinosaur Traps mouth and can be purchased for 2000 per Arcane Core you want it in per gun. This must be done in one game, but can be done at any time once you have the Pack a Punch room open and activate the UFOs from inside the room.
For a specific walkthrough on how to get each core type to use in the machine, see Sticker Collector.
