How to unlock the The Longest Day achievement in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - Definitive Guide

I just finished the Infinite Warfare campaign on Veteran difficulty and I have to say that it isn't that hard.
I can't put down a whole guide, because you probably don't need it.
However, I can provide you guys with a few tips:

- Probably the most important tip, stay.... behind... cover! I am a very fast person and I like to rush things, trust me, you can not do that in this game. Take your time and take out all the enemies in each section one by one. They don't spawn infinitely. I used the NV4 Assault Rifle throughout the entire game. Equip the attachments that you prefer (I do advise equipping Extended Mags) and I liked the ELO sight. For your secondary weapon, take an energy weapon to take out robots with ease. I used the VOLK Assault Rifle.
In terms of equipment, Drones, the Portable Shield, Seeker Grenades and Shock Grenades are your best friends. Spam these as much as you can, because they WILL help you a lot. There are numerous places in the game where you can restock your equipment.

- When you do the Jackal missions, make sure your Jackal has the extra armor equipped. You will die pretty fast in your Jackal so use Flares frequently and always move (if you hover for to long, enemies will do the same and surround you and you will be dead within the blink of an eye.
Use resupply drones to replenish your rockets, they are very effective against enemy attack carriers.

Again, take things slow and enjoy the campaign and it's setting. Note, in order to get this achievement, you need to complete all of the 31 missions (main missions + side missions).

Enjoy the game, if you have any questions, suggestions or other feedback please write that down below! Good Luck smile

By the way if people are still trying to get the Personal Decorator achievement in Black Ops 3, I have a guide for that as well.

Thanks for the guide!

And another Special Ops fan! I loved that mode! I liked MW3's Spec Ops more (DLC missions + Survival). I hate the direction Zombies is going. Don't get me started on the bullshit Easter Eggs these days...

I hope the next Call Of Duty will be better, but knowing Sledgehammer, it probably won't be...

I'm glad my little tips were helpful. I agree with you, Zombies isn't fun anymore, it's becoming a struggle. The maps are bad, the game mode is getting way to complicated and the whole survival aspect is gone. It's only aboout Easter Eggs right now, which is a shame.
I certainly hope they will bring back Special Ops, because I loved it. My fingers are crossed Sledgehammer......

I don't think I have ever posted on this site, but your comment amount bringing back spec. ops. warrants it.

I absolutely agree. It challenged you to learn to play the game in a different way and was a blast to play co-op.

Zombies has it's place, but I've grown weary of the Easter eggs. It feels like they're trying too hard. Just let me shoot zombies.

Do you need to start a new campaign to unlock this? Or can you simply change the difficulty to Vet and replay the missions? I ask because I do not want to lose my weapon collector progress and some may appear on higher difficulties.

You can just do mission select and replay any missions on Veteran difficulty. Just make sure every mission get's marked as "completed on Veteran" after it's completion.

Like I said above, you need to complete every single mission on Veteran difficulty.

Spec ops was decent, can't say im too fussed about it returning though. Disagree about zombies getting harder though. This one is very easy compared to others.

DarkP Phantom I'm glad you like my guide. Yeah the Easter Egg achievements are the only ones left for me and I've tried it multiple times but it's very hard and time consuming. I'm not enjoying Zombies enough to force myself through all that hard work.

Black ops 2 zombies was the best in my opinion with town and maybe farm but after that it's like meh. Black ops 3 zombies was a big let down all they concentrate was the stupid Easter egg crap. Zombies for infinite warfare I think they did a good job with it. Big map easy to move around plus again with the Easter egg..... Like you said bring back where you can just try to survive for once again.

Can you select the side missions if you haven't completed them. I just beat the main story on veteran and didn't read guide until after. Thanks for any reply.

Yes, you can go to mission select in the main menu and complete them afterwards.

I am right there with you on the Spec Ops. Zombies was fun for WaW and Black Ops, but after that it just started getting played out. With Spec Ops you get the variety of different missions and difficulties and it was fun both single player and coop. Zombies just gets repetitive and is not a selling point for me on these games. heck the only reason I bought this one was for CoD 4.

SockGORE828 - Exactly, zombies was fun in WaW, BO1 and sometimes BO2 but after that it got terrible. Special Ops was amazing, tons of different side missions and objectives. I miss the good old days. Now they removed the only good MP map IW has, Genesis, duo to glitch abuse. I wish they had remastered MW2 but I guess that's just me.

I loved Spec Ops, so much more fun than Zombies and perfectly fit the setting of the MW games. Survival was great too, I loved that in MW3 and AW. Really hoped that was making a comeback with AW.

I'm only halfway through the campaign on Vet, just to add to your tips:
I don't like the shield one bit, I much prefer the hacking device. Works from cover and you can suicide charge the bot. Have taken out a number of large shielded bots with this method.

For the secondary weapon, I like the Erad. An SMG that doubles as a Shotgun for those special occasions.

MushaConvoy, I'm glad that we feel the same about Spec Ops. Infinite Warfare is an Infinity Ward game so I hoped it would finally make a return in IW. But unfortunately, we get Zombies......... again..........

Yeah the Hacking Device and the Erad are both very effective as well. Just use what you are comfortable with. Good luck with the other half of the campaign ;)

Campaign beat :)

More tips:
Longbow + Thermal made the game extremely easy, especially the late mission on Earth. The final corridor section on the station I made liberal use of seekers and drones and hacking.

The only real trouble I had was on the final Jackal mission, kill a bunch of Ace pilots in an extremely limited time limit. For this mission, don't waste rockets on Aces (they never seem to run out of flares), use them to take out the regular enemies as even once you kill the aces and the place is going to burn, you still need to kill everyone before you can escape yourself. I finished with the timer dead on 0:00 as I hit the X button to launch, despite time being out, it still did the full escape animation thankfully.

Would love to see special ops come back. I also love the newer Zombies so I am going to be greedy and say I want 4 modes :) I have just finished the Zombies achievements and they were pretty tough but the god mode (if you don't mind using a glitch ) worked a treat and was working as of 16/12. Just have this left to do ! Will attempt it over xmas and thanks for the guide toast

Thank you for posting your guide but please edit out your community question as this encourages non-solution based posts. If you want to discuss anything about the game, please use the forum (tab at the top of the page) Thanks.

Probably because people don't care for Easter egg anymore because they need to have it where your trying to survive and not just focus on the Easter egg. Kinda like black ops 2 with town and farm or like black ops like assension and not just focus on the Easter egg.

Where does it say "completed on veteran" in mission select?

I'm playing each mission backward through the mission select list, and I just want to make sure I'm getting credit for each.

I don't think it actually says completed on veteran like the other cod does.

No problem. It should work if your beating the game on veteran backwards. Should count.

@ MushaConvoy
Finished the last Jackal mission with a minute left first try (on Veteran). Definitely doable.

This game is not a gem. It's the worst in the series without question. This achievement like many others didn't unlock for me.

What Devious Jedi said has worked for me for several campaign achievements.

- press Xbox button to bring up the menu
- go right 3 times so you're on "Game activity" section
- Go to official club
- navigate through the different tabs using lb/rb, my achievements so far have unlocked instantly upon going to the "Progress" tab

finally a good guide this time. the other guide must have got deleted.

i agree big time im glad im not the only one that thinks that. zombies is all about easter egg like you said. zombie for infinite warfare not half bad tho i have to say. easy to run around but still theres that damn easter egg you have to do or just survive just for fun.
i'll try a guide once i beat the game on veteran. thanks for the tip. glad to know its not to hard. there is some rough spots to get by but other than that its easy so far.

Use electric sniper loadout.
Use a guns with sight that identifies enemies.
Equip Shield to see where enemy are behind walls.
Jackel missions: stay to the outside of map, keep L trigger pressed to see inbound craft. Thin out the herd...
Dive bomb destroyers and shoot the top that shoots out lock on missiles.
Small enemy carriers: hover behind and below. and shoot the ass end. 2 missile shots and 6 cannon shots FTK.
Also kill all aces to progress.
Your welcome.

What's with all this stupid whining about EE in zombies? They've been around since WAW and there have been achievements for them since BOPs 1. If you don't like then, don't do them. No one is forcing you to do any of them and survival is not dependant on completing any of them. Hell, I don't even bother with the box nor wonder weapons on the default map it's so damn easy. There IS A FREE TRAP For f's sake!

Having just earned this trophy this morning, I thought I'd offer some invaluable tips to the rest of you that just got Infinite Warfare for the holidays. My recommendation: play through Infinite Warfare on an easier setting first, learning the lay of the levels and picking up any collectibles.

Then, use the mission select option to replay levels with all of your unlocked perks/upgrades. Even though Infinite Warfare's difficulty doesn't compare to the Call of Duty games from last generation, quicker health regeneration and extra lethal/tactical grenades will boost your survival chances.

I always equipped a shield and attack drones in my tactical slot. Drones actively seek out enemies, and the shield shows where your attackers are, even through walls. For the larger robots, shock and anti-grav grenades more than make up for the hacking device you don't need.

On the topic of loadouts, however, take a gun with a thermal scope. In some levels, it may be too dark or bright to identify enemies in the background, but a thermal sight has no trouble distinguishing friends from foes. Also, take one ballistic and one energy firearm to combat humans and bots, respectively.

You must complete all 31 missions in the game to earn this trophy, but I only died a handful of times in the six hours it took to finish Veteran.

I strongly recommend that you finish the side missions & a Recruit playthrough before attempting this.

The video linked is for the best possible loadouts in the game both for guns & your Jackal jet.

When fighting the C12 robots feel free to pickup rockets in place of your secondary gun

For the most part the hardest areas in the game are going to be fighting the C12s & while you're in zero gravity. If you're in zero gravity feel free to use your grappling hook to either camp behind any cover or rush ahead for a checkpoint.

Note that you have to finish both the main story & side missions.

This trophy is awarded for finishing all Single Player missions on Veteran difficulty. This includes all Main Missions and all Side Missions. If you finish all of the main missions without finishing all of the side missions you won't be able to continue with the side missions normally as there isn't any story continuation, so you will have to play the remaining side missions through missions select.

It is necessary to complete all tasks, including side ones.
