How to unlock the Best of the Best achievement in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered - Definitive Guide
This achievement will require you to beat the time of 15.1 seconds in the Ship Cargo training area during F.N.G..
This achievement will likely take a little bit of trial and error, but isn't too bad if you follow some tips. I recommend using the MP5 and taking a few runs to memorize the course first. It is important to know exactly what is around every corner for speed and accuracy; as you can get an accuracy bonus of up to 3 seconds off your time.
As for the strategy, repel, jump to the right and aim for the first two enemies. Sprint inside and grab the last enemy, sprint down the stairs killing the enemy at the bottom and load your flashbang. Turn the corner and throw the flash, preparing yourself by aiming down sights. Once it explodes, clear the enemies, sprint to the next room, and then hip fire the two enemies, loading your flash immediately after. Flash the last room, and walk backwards towards the exit as it explodes. Shoot the final two enemies through the small door gap and through the wall from outside, sprinting to the exit as possible. If done in under 18.1 seconds with a perfect accuracy bonus, the achievement will unlock.

I explain the steps to take for any average gamer to be able to obtain this achievement by following the steps provided.
Accuracy bonus is very important in this so make your best effort to only use one bullet on each enemy board to take crucial seconds off your final time. I'd use the MP5 for this.

To obtain, you need to turn around from the entrance to the area you run this in, on the other side of the road you will see an obstacle course, to the left of this a few meters there is a grenade course. Go into the pit and you will be tasked with throwing grenades into windows, once this is done, you will be asked to pick up a rifle with a grenade launcher under barrel attachment. Do so, replacing your USP with it, but run back to the hangar with the timed course.
By pressing you will pull out the grenade launcher, which can take out multiple targets with ease. With this equipped, I'll walk you through how I did it, as using this makes it much easier (note the achievement doesn't show up on the video because I recorded using the xbox DVR but you can see my time at the end is under 15.1 second mark).
First some general tips:
-You may want to consider raising your sensitivity to make running through corners faster,
- Because there is a small animation played before
throwing the flashbang, you can prime it before actually being in sight of a doorway you need to throw it through.
- If you mess up in anyway, just restart the checkpoint rather than finishing, it is much faster.
-You get an accuracy bonus of a maximum of 3 seconds if you are decently accurate with your shots. Using the grenade launcher on 3 targets in one shot will greatly help this.
-Enemies do not have health, so any damage, no matter how small will kill, a flashbang, while doing damage, does not kill.
Step by step
1. Make sure your M16 is equipped and you have the grenade launcher ready before you go down the rope, hold to jump down the rope and begin the timer.
2. As you are falling, make sure you are aiming as far right as you can, to make it easier when you land. Once you do sprint right for a split second, jump and turn into face the window. You want to shoot the grenade launcher about 2 feet in front of the doorway you will soon enter. This takes a fair amount of skill to pull off successfully but keep at it.
3. If you land this shot you will take out all 3 enemies in this room. Now head through the door on the right side of this room and switch to your MP5 as you do so. Go through a second door on your right once you enter this room and jump down the stairs, as soon as you land shooting a couple of hipfire shots to hit the guy at the bottom of the stairs.
4. Immediately after hitting this guy prime a flash, turn left 90 degrees and throw it through the open door. Run towards your flash but hang outside the door to the left until the flash goes off, so you don't blind yourself. As soon as goes off, run in here and shoot the two enemies, knowing where these enemies will pop is important so you waste no time trying to acquire them.
5. Run through the 2 doors to your left, as you enter this room, an enemy will pop up right in front of you shoot him as soon as he does, then quickly spin to your right, holding down the trigger as you do, hopefully killing the enemy at your 5 o'clock, make sure you do not hold the trigger for too long to ensure your accuracy bonus.
6. As soon as this is done prime a flash and throw it across to the adjacent room. Run after it, holding back to the left of the entrance again. As soon as it goes off, run forward and quickly shoot the two enemies in this room, heading out the door as you.
7. Sprint to the finish, if your accuracy was decent, you will get 3 seconds off your final time, so a time of 18.09 seconds or less will get you the achievement.
This is quite challenging, but having the grenade launcher available makes it much easier. Good luck!

I found the best way was start with the MP5 to take out the first 3 targets, I aimed down sight but hip firing works if you feel your shot is good enough, after that switch to the pistol and use that for every other target on the level. Hit everything with one shot of the pistol.
Sounds obvious but avoid getting stuck on any doorways, even a brief snag can be the difference between success and failure. Get use to the flash bang times, You can enter the third area as the flash goes off without getting blinded, which can save you some crucial waiting time, minute it "bangs" you can enter the room.
On the final 2 targets, flash them and start backing towards the finish. You can shoot them through the wooden walls once you've learned their positions. There are videos showing this like the one above.
- Keep running and shooting
- Shoot the targets with as few bullets as possible.

A few tips:
A higher sensitivity helps
At the end try to flash the two targets at door 6, walk out the door to the exit then kill the two targets through the wall, this saved me a lot of time in the end.
Accuracy counts a lot and can take off a total of 3 seconds to your time so make sure you don't miss often

This one is tough to beat, but you gotta beat IW's time of 15.1 seconds. If you're unsuccessful, keep practicing. If your accuracy is perfect, you'll win 3 seconds of time (mine was 17.95 with an accuracy of 3 seconds).
For example, If you set time of 18 seconds and it deducts 3 seconds, it'll be 15 seconds in total. Achievement/trophy pops if the time is less than 15.1 seconds.
Note to self, If you complete the cargo ship mockup in less than 19S, you'll pop the "New Squadron Record" achievement/trophy.
Another thing is that IW stands for "Infinity Ward."
The first thing to do is make a few practice runs through the course to make sure that you're aware of where all of the cardboard cutout enemies will be, as you can deduct up to 3 seconds off your final time with the accuracy bonus -- bringing down the time required to 18.1 seconds.
Strategy to get the best time:
Use the MP5 as your weapon (found at the top of the ladders). When you repel down, jump to the right when you hit the bottom. This might take some practice to time it right. Take out the first two enemies, sprint inside the door to the right, and take out the third enemy in that area.
Sprint down the stairs and kill the enemy at the bottom, prepare a flash grenade and toss it into the next room as you turn the corner. Hide behind the wall so you don't get flashed yourself, and then enter the room taking out the two enemies. Move through the door on the left, be careful not to get caught on anything so that it slows you down, and take out the two enemies in that room.
Prepare another flashbang, throw it through the next door on your left. As soon as you throw the flashbang, move to your right exit so that it doesn't blind you. Start walking backwards whilst still aiming your gun towards the room, shoot the one enemy you can see through the doorway, and aim slightly to the right to shoot the second enemy through the wall. Once the last enemy is down, turn around and sprint forwards towards the timer.
If at any point you mess up, pause the game and reload the last checkpoint. Anything less than an almost perfect run will mean your time is too high.
You can see a video of my run where I completed the course in 17.9 seconds and received a -3 seconds bonus to bring my time down to 14.9 seconds below:
Mission: F.N.G.
This may seem like an impossible time to beat when you first try the training course but with some practice and pointers it’s not that bad. I recommend watching the video as it’s easier to explain things like this when it’s along with a visual demonstration. Here are some extra pointers though:
- A high accuracy will knock off a maximum of 3 seconds from your time at the end of the run, but you don’t need perfect accuracy. In the video I used the pistol after the first section to help with accuracy but you can use the MP5 SMG all the way (which you may find easier) and still get the full 3 second bonus.
- Turn up your sensitivity a little because the default setting causes it to take a while to move your aim between targets while aiming down sight.
- Although I didn’t do this during the video a lot of people run to the right at the start and line up the first 2 targets so they can shoot through both of them.
- To save time, be sure to press to start the flashbang throwing process before you get to the door you need to throw it through because it takes a couple of seconds for the animation to play out.
- When you throw the final flashbang move backwards out of the door leading to the end while you wait for the flashbang to explode and shoot the final 2 targets through the wall as you edge backward toward the finish. You can even run out for a split second while the flashbang is going off then turn and shoot the targets. And shooting them through the wall is probably easier with the MP5 despite the fact that I used the pistol in the video.
There is an accuracy bonus that will take time off your final time which will help!
Slide down the rope with your MP5, collateral the two targets, run through door, one shot into the target next to the door. Proceed down the stairs with one shot into the target at the bottom. Immediately pull out a flashbang for the next room.
Wait for the flash to go off and put the two shots into the two targets. Proceed into next room and put one shot into the target directly ahead of you and hipfire the target to the right. Immediately pull the flash grenade and flas the next room. DO NOT ENTER THE NEXT ROOM. While waiting for the flas to go off, exit the training building and shoot the targets through the wooden walls and proceed to the finish line!
Might need to take a few tries but the achievement will pop!
You can earn this Achievement and the New Squadron Record Achievements in the level F.N.G.
You must have a final time under 15.1 seconds.

To note, I did NOT use the grenade launcher at all nor did I switch to the pistol. I only used about one shot per target from the MP5 and primed the flashbangs before getting to the two rooms to toss them in.
I also HIGHLY recommend muting your TV set while doing this. Not only are the instructions from Price annoying and distracting, they also lag a bit behind your progress.
