How to unlock the Bird on the Ground achievement in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered - Definitive Guide

This can easily be done on the mission ‘Heat’. There are RPG’s in the church tower towards the bottom of the hill, and at the gate leading to the field in front of the barn. There are 8 enemy helicopters in total in this mission: 5 when you are meant to man the minigun on the crashed helicopter, and 3 when you fall back to the farm at the top of the hill. Hitting any one of these helicopters with an RPG will net you this achievement.

Personally, I recommend pairing this achievement with the other ‘Heat’ mission specific achievements 'Flyswatter' and 'The Man in the High Tower'

Act 1 - "War Pig":

Take down the first few enemies and head to the right. There will be a bus in front of you, and a blue shipping container to the right of it. Head to the far right side of the container and grab an RPG-7 and the other as ammo. Directly above you will be two helicopters dropping off troops. Make sure you get fairly close, as the RPG is not very accurate at distance. Aim slightly above center mass of the closer helicopter and fire. Destroying one will pop the trophy!

I did this in the War Pig mission, Right at the start of the mission, there are a few guys with RPG's and a few helicopters that come into play a short time after that drop enemies off. Simply kill a RPG holder, loot his weapon, aim and fire at a helicopter. Should you miss, or if you die, reload the last checkpoint.


P.s. Only started the channel recently. any constructive points would be appreciated.

Here is a YouTube guide that I made.

You can earn this Achievement and the Reinforcement Denied Achievement at the same time on the level War Pig.

The reason is that this level has 3 helicopters that come in at once to drop rappelling enemies.

To earn the Achievement Reinforcement Denied you must kill 3 enemies who are rappelling off of a helicopter.

Try to get underneath the helicopter before firing your RPG.

This guide is for the "Flyswatter" trophy; however, in the second half of the video you can easily take down three different helicopters with RPGs. This is done in the fifteenth mission "Heat".

Mission: Heat

A single RPG rocket is usually enough to take down a chopper. You’ll automatically earn this while working on the Flyswatter trophy because to be able to take down all 8 helicopters in the Heat mission you’ll have to make use of an RPG. Although you may have already earned it earlier in the game depending on which method you used to earn the Reinforcement Denied trophy.
