In Lady Nightingale, take out all of Steiner's troops in the department store using only takedowns

How to unlock the Behind You achievement in Call of Duty: Vanguard - Definitive Guide

To get this achievement I would recommend doing this on Recruit difficulty. Reverting to last checkpoint does not void this either. Also you have to eliminate all the enemies with a Takedown. A Takedown is a special melee attack that prompts you to press cn_RSc when near an enemy. Using regular melee attacks will not count. Takedowns are easier to do in stealth as 99% of the time the prompt will appear. When things go loud it's a bit hit or miss if the prompt appears or not. I would also recommend wearing a headset and changing the Audio Mix to Headphones.

This takes place after you emerge from the destroyed rubble. On your left you will see an enemy crouch walk behind to use the takedown. After this move forward and two enemies will wonder into the area in front of you. Wait for the enemies to walk past and use a takedown on both of them. Keep going forward in the small building until you see a Mannequin sat on a small ledge next to a pillar. There will be an enemy walking towards you, hide behind the pillar and wait for him to go past, then use the takedown.

After this I would recommend going prone next to the counter in the middle and try and study the enemy movements as they are sporadic. One thing I noticed though is that if you eliminate an enemy in the open another solider will walk towards their body. I found that this helped a lot in the open snow section.

After climbing up a level you will go through a small crack in the wall. Around here you will get a checkpoint, there will be an enemy directly in front of you, this is a good area to farms kills for the Pop Goes The Nightingale achievement. Then I would recommend sticking to the right side of the room and eliminating the guard who's by the door. Turn left and there will be a guard who's facing away from you. By this point the last guard will be by the bookshelves on the right side.

After going up another level you will be ambushed by an enemy where he'll throw you through the floor. After this you will get a checkpoint, and will need to use a takedown on the sniper. You will need to do 2 takedowns on the sniper. After this you will go up against groups of 3-4 enemies at a time. Best advice for this section is that if they spot you, just restart checkpoint as the enemy movement is sporadic.

A little while later you will encounter some machinegun enemies, I think by this point they will automatically detect you, just keep running towards them and looking for the cn_RSc to do a takedown.

I tried looking for a weapon with a bayonet to see if that made takedowns easier, I couldn't find one though. Also I didn't really find any use for the distraction ability in this section.

This was an absolute nightmare. I had the sniper and the 2 heavies left, but the prompt to takedown the heavy only appears for a split second at a time. In the end they both run after you and hiding isn’t an option anymore (while also getting quickscoped by the sniper). I restarted from last checkpoint well over 100 times. I would takedown a heavy and then the game would bug out and melee the second one, making me need to restart again. 2 hours later and the achievement finally unlocked. Thanks for the guide though, especially in the beginning with the 6 guys in the snow that are very close together.

This is by far the most annoying achievement in the campaign.

Once you get to the section where you're automatically detected (you'll know because smoke will appear), it is up in the air whether or not you will be able to takedown an enemy when you run up to them. Nothing is more frustrating than running up to an enemy, not getting the prompt, then being beat to death and slowed down so you can't run away.

My tips:
1. On the top floor, there are smoke grenades in two boxes. Use these all the time as they're unlimited. If you throw them directly on an enemy, they will start coughing and this seemed to guarantee a takedown.
2. Don't restart a checkpoint if you're spotted. Just hide away for 10-15sec and you'll hear the music go from frantic and then back to calm. This lets you know the enemies have forgotten about you and you can go back out for stealth takedowns.
3. Make sure enemies don't kill each other because their own grenades will void the achievement. I had an enemy shotgun another and this may have voided the achievement. And make sure if you get a hit marker with a smoke grenade or even a melee that hits but doesn't kill, just reload the checkpoint. I had to do this mission all over again to unlock and its a pain to get back to the department store.
4. As far as takedowns, if you hide around a corner in a room you know the enemies are chasing you, you will most likely get the prompt when they run into the room. Also, if they're ducking in cover and you run up to them you'll likely get the prompt.

Also, I would note exactly WHEN you got the achievement so people know if they need to restart or not. You get it after the section you're seemingly always detected and kill the last sniper. "Objective Complete" for killing Steiner's soldiers will appear at the top. If the achievement doesn't IMMEDIATLEY pop then you'll have to restart the mission.

Note: As soon as you enter the department store and kill the 4 enemies that come in to your side on the left, don't go up before killing the 6 or so enemies out in the open snow. I skipped this on one attempt and I believe this also voids the achievement.

Good luck out there, this will likely take a few mind-numbing attempts. I'm just glad I can finally shoot a gun again.

One of the worst achievements I've ever done. Tip from me is when second Jäger Mörder will spawn and rush you then damage him with weapon so he could disappear, that way you can finish him with takedown when he'll be standing and sniping.

Smoke grenades work to stun enemies.

I also got seen and still managed to do it, just run around and eventually you’ll lose them and can keep going.

Just a bit of advice, if you're spotted just run around and when you come across an enemy, press the up button on the d-pad to flash the knife, it allows you to do a takedown regardless if they see you or not

The tip about pressing up to draw fire works great, but this will not unlock for me. Definitely only used takedowns, no other hits, no grenades, no smoke, not sure of the problem.

If you attack the soldier by mistake while trying for the takedown .Just having done the achievement myself i can confirm that missing the command takedown and doing a basic melee attack instead will not void the achievement as long it doesn't kill the enemy. So let say you miss on the big armored guys and they don't die from the melee no need to restart the checkpoint. I did it at least 7-8 times and that was even on the normal dudes as well.

ye na activision would need to pay me to do this achievement. i don't care about 100% in a game so for the time it would take to do this through trial and error and some luck i honestly couldn't care. also all activision have done is make it so i don't buy a cod game again. well done, thats actually impressive.

This achievement/trophy is *everything* that is wrong with the achievement/trophy design community. It's stupidly hard, has no means to track success or failure or the number of remaining enemies, the checkpoints seem to make no logical sense, and the control scheme fails to give you the option to take down an opponent at an unreasonably high rate. What's more, it does the #1 thing an achievement/trophy should never do: takes a fun thing to do in the game and makes it a tedious chore. Just awful.

I've done this 3 times now with no unlock. I don't get any hit markers on anyone. I don't swap, aim, or fire my weapon. I don't throw anything and I don't use the knife ability to draw attention. I always clear every enemy on the previous floors.

I managed to do this on the second go around by restarting the checkpoint any time someone shot their gun. I did this just in case one of them killed their own people, ruining the achievement. Popped no problem using this method.

The first time didn't work probably because I spent a LOT of time running around trying to avoid people once I was seen. Much easier just to keep reloading the checkpoint and doing it "perfectly".

Edit: I also never used a smoke grenade, just in case.

How did you manage a perfect run? The MG's always spawn aggro'd (they'll drop from above and stagger me when I finish taking down one of the regulars) and NEVER lose sight of me whether I use smokes or not.

This achievement is quickly becoming the worst achievement of all time for me.

No tracker.
Inconsistent AI sometimes seeing what must be 1 pixel of me behind a corner 20ft away when others I can brush into and not get caught.
No leeway for enemies taking out their own guys and no way to tell if they have done.
Weird, inconsistent checkpoints that often occur after you've made a mistake meaning you need to replay the whole mission again.
MG's always know where you are and the takedown prompt barely ever shows.

I can do a perfect run until the MG's show up and furthermore I've managed to luck my way into taking them down and dealt with the rest with no weapon pickups, no shots fired, no smokes, no hitmarkers but it just doesn't pop.

This achievement makes me think there should be a way to report a buggy achievement through the Xbox guide. I expect this from indie developers, not a AAA title.

I think the MG’s are what ruin the achievement by being aggro off the bat and shooting anything that moves (such as another enemy).

What I meant by perfect was up until this point. I then stayed in the staircase once the MG guys showed up, and ran down to Takedown an enemy, ran back up the stairs, then ran down and Takedown another enemy etc etc. This worked for me because they kept funnelling into this area. I realize my experience will be different than others but this is how I unlocked the achievement.

Hopefully you get it soon!

I can confirm you can use smoke on the MG enemies to get close enough to them for the takedown. Just toss it at their feet to stagger them.

This achievement is hard. I’ve run though it four times and it didn’t seem to be working even when I was sure I only did all takedowns with no melee or bullets or grenade hits. Then I tried using the tip that if you whistle it distracts the normal guards and you can then immediately after do a take down every time even if they spot you and are shooting at you (for the normal guards, not the snipers and lmg ones) This allowed me to run through it quicker and it finally popped. The whistling made it way easier.

For the love of god, if you are not certain RELOAD YOUR CHECKPOINT. Last thing you wanna do is redo this entire thing.
Take your time, dont rush and try to do a quick left right look before you take someone down.

I did this on Veteran, which made me nearly go insane, but I forgot the people on th ebottom. Okay, no big deal, I can redo it on Easy, right? It was a bitch still on Recruit and it didn't pop. I don't know if going for the main sniper first was why or what, but I'm so livid I hate this game. The three achievements it has ruin it and it feels like fucking kids straight out of College designed the structure and level design. This game could have been so much more if it weren't for poor decision making on the Developer's end.

As if this achievement wasn't the most infuriating in CoD history - possibly even gaming history - it's now deciding to crash with alarming regularity anywhere from loading up this mission to in the middle of runs.

There's no set way to get this achievement and after 30+ hours of running this one mission I'm about to call it quits. I'd much rather it was unobtainable because I know some who've done this in 1/2 attempts with hitmarkers, disappearing MGs they've not had to deal with etc whilst many, including myself, have taken every precaution, spent countless hours on runs - some being flawless - and no pop.

As annoying as this achievement is, I was honestly fine with it. If you think about it, it fits with the story perfectly. Which is realistic gameplay which I like. Moments before the achieve takes place, your given the knife and Polina asks herself "What am I gonna do with this" Take out 45 guys in cqc I guess.

After checking YouTube there is an easy way to do this.
If you use the knife glint in front of standard enemies, you can use takedown 99% of the time easily!
I stood in front of about 5 enemies at once glinting then using takedown instantly on each one.
The only ones it doesn't work on are the heavy enemies (sniper/shotgun/LMG)

This technique makes it 10x easier!!

This was stressful as hell. I can confirm that I was able to toss a smoke at the MGers feet but I had to try and approach from their backside while they were staggered. Approaching from the front wouldn't give me the prompt. I didn't read these comments until most of my run was complete but using the stairwells/doorways was a good idea because i had 3 enemies that refused to forget me at the end.

This is an AWFUL achievement to unlock, probably the worst one i've unlocked in an COD. I highly recommend staying as stealthy as you can as trying to takedown enemies while in combat is highly unreliable and makes this become stressful. Try and stay away from the snipers sight as much as possible and try to form a path around the building so you can go up behind him.

I did this on veteran and didn’t find it difficult. I don’t remember fighting any of the heavy armor enemies, but there were two snipers which required two takedowns each to kill. After the second sniper I got the achievement. Just reload last checkpoint when needed.

A very very good tip for this which will be worth adding to the solution is that if you are right next to somebody and you use the distraction ability it will allow a takedown instantly even if they are shooting at you. This doesn’t work on heavy enemies however

The last part of of this guide is huge; I thought I was supposed to somehow get back into stealth when the machine gun guys showed up and it was absolutely impossible. But if you go into a vent and right back out and then just run straight at them, you can pretty much always do a takedown even though you’re not in stealth. Great guide! Pretty annoying but not as hard as it seems, especially with the distraction ability letting you get free takedowns on all normal enemies

Just want to clear something up for anyone going for this. You can shoot and melee enemies and get hit markers. Using the up on dpad distraction can be very useful as it allows you to get a quick takedowns and if you hide for long enough you can make enemy’s go back into search mode (very useful for first floor before you have distraction ability) I got this on my first try and I threw plenty of smokes and missed takedowns and melee’d enemy’s and still got it.

It's funny; I thought Duck and Dive was easier than others made it out to be, and thought this was substantially worse. In my opinion, this is one of the worst designed achievements I've earned in a while.

In theory, I don't have a problem with an extended stealth section, I even found the first 2 floors sort of fun, but the AI is absolutely broken (bottom floor, grouped 2nd stage on final floor). Literally, the final stage has 3 groups of 2 snipers on the east balcony who - standing by eachother, cannot see you stabbing their friend in the throat. On the bottom floor, you may as well be waving a red flag. Then, other groups are hyper aware, irrespective of difficulty, and can see you in crawlspaces.

The killer is that no matter how well you do, the last 8-10 enemies go guns blazing no matter what you do. You cannot reliably takedown enemies during live fire, and running away from MG42's trying to takedown the last group even on recruit is irritating as you get swarmed and either hit by powerful bullets or slowed down by melee hits from others. What makes it EVEN worse that enemies can die from direct smoke grenade hits (happened countless times to me, not sure if its a glitch) and start launching grenades; if they take out one of their own, no achievement for you.

I've done harder achievements for sure, but this was badly designed and endlessly frustrating, and the AI design is hilariously bad.

Done this on my 2nd attempt. I stupidly didn't take into account the group of 5-6 guys on the ground floor in the courtyard in the beginning of this stealth chapter. Replayed and made sure these were dealt with.

This is easy to the point when the heavy units come into play, then it's chaotic. The ability worked on the regular units until they become aggrovated towards the end.

I found the smoke/takedown strat to be very inconsistent, to the point where the smoke would stagger the heavy units, but i'd not have the option to take down. Therefore this was absolete.

For me, which worked exceptionally well (thanks to one of the guys above), was to utilize the vents. Use them for cover then come out and takedown as they dispurse. Rinse and repeat.

I had 3 enemies left, 1 sniper and 2 of the MG enemies (1 actually had a shotgun instead of the MG) and the game wouldn't give me the takedown prompt on either of the MG guys so after about 30 minutes of trying I went after the sniper instead. Achievement unlocked after I killed the sniper with the other 2 enemies still alive. This is definitely the worst CoD campaign achievement that I have done, so much broken shit is working against you while doing this.

One of the most stupid achievements I have ever unlocked.
Good guide though. I would like to point out what one of the comments said, it helped me out a lot and got me through it in less than an hour.

Use up on the d pad right before attempting a takedown. In most of the enemies it seems to reset them for a second, so even if you are standing right in front of them and they know you are there, you can still do a takedown. This didn't work for every single enemy but it did work for a majority of them

Just unlocked it on Veteran. Took a full 2 hours and 100+ checkpoints loaded but I finally did it. The most difficult and annoying achievement in Call of Duty history. Every single Dev needs to be forced to sit down and unlock this achievement. No pay or breaks until it is unlocked. Either that or they are fired. Screw Sledgehammer Games. They produced the 4 shittiest CoDs ever made. They need to be never allowed to work on a CoD game ever again.

What an absolute garbage achievement... Took me 2 attempts and multiple hours.
First I was like "whatever this is easy if you do the whole thing stealthily". Little did I know that them becoming alert of you is scripted after a while. From then on, I was reloading checkpoints hundreds of times in like 10 second intervals.

One thing I can say is that hitting them with the gun is ok as long as they don't die from it.

I think what voided the achievement the first time around was one of them getting killed by a grenade that another one threw

Go up one of the stairs wait above for an enemy to chase u.
Jump down behind him.
Take him down
They're much slower turning around and and you're safe from the sniper.
And if the stairs got too hot. Run to the second one.
Hope I can help someone

Just an update, if anyone else is still struggling, I missed some guys during the very first part where the objective is to Ascend to Steiner. Dan the Whale's comment reminded me to check that I got all ten guys in that section. Great guide, great community. Thanks guys.

Just awful.

Brooo took a couple tries for me because I kept trying to stagger with my smoke the MGS but they wouldn’t, I found the best way to do this is just take it slow and remember where the containers of smokes are

Go up one of the stairs wait above for an enemy to chase u.
Jump down behind him.
Take him down
They're much slower turning around and and you're safe from the sniper.
And if the stairs got too hot. Run to the second one.
Hope I can help someone

This achievement is hard. I’ve run though it four times and it didn’t seem to be working even when I was sure I only did all takedowns with no melee or bullets or grenade hits. Then I tried using the tip that if you whistle it distracts the normal guards and you can then immediately after do a take down every time even if they spot you and are shooting at you (for the normal guards, not the snipers and lmg ones) This allowed me to run through it quicker and it finally popped. The whistling made it way easier.

I found the best way to cheese this achievement by basically goading the enemies into letting me Takedown them.

I "unlocked" this achievement twice and did not get credit. The trick that got it to work the third time around was to not damage the enemies in any way - if you get any hitmarkers, revert to last checkpoint. No smoke hitmarkers, no melee hitmarkers. If an enemy throws a grenade, there is the potential for another enemy to die by that grenade. Even if you can monitor the situation to make sure nobody dies, you should just immediately revert since you really don't want to risk the possibility that someone you never saw, dies.

The way to goad your enemies into letting you take them down is simple, and works like a charm for the final wave of enemies, including the LMG idiot who supernaturally knows your position. To minimize the risk of not damaging enemies, I would only smoke when I was stunned by a melee. You actually want as many enemies as possible fighting you. I know that sounds funny, but basically: you want them running at you.

Enabling a takedown in-combat basically requires you to goad an enemy into chasing you. It requires an enemy who is not "actively fighting" per se, rather someone who is "in transition". If this were CoD Competitive, this would be known as "finessing" the enemies - dipping, ducking, dodging, and diving to get your enemies to pursue you. As long as you catch your enemy chasing you (i.e. closing in on your position), if you pop out from around the corner sprinting at them, they can usually be taken down very reliably .

This can be done by abusing something as simple as a pillar, where the enemy is within arm's length on the other side of it, or a counter, where the enemy is on the other side (where you can reach out and tap them), and any Line of Sight (LoS) break. Any simple movement that requires the enemy to move to get to you appears to work, and I tested this many times. It's simple: Take down as many in stealth as you can, then when you inevitably are found, don't panic. Run at the enemy, get close, let them know you're there, and let them chase you somewhere. Run around the corner, then turn around and run back out to catch them chasing you (right before they're about to round the corner). If they're on the other side of the counter, mantle it, then mantle back, then mantle again. Keep mantling things, those are great for forcing the enemy to stance-change and make themselves vulnerable. Just toy with them and make them run around.

Now the tricky part is making sure you're actually going to take them down rather than melee them. What I did was I got close enough for the takedown prompt to appear, then backed up a tiny bit so I was out of melee range , then I initiated the Takedown so it would lunge. You basically want to get out of that arm's length where you can gun-butt them, but remain within the Takedown distance to lunge at them, eliminating the risk of an accidental gun-butt, which would force you to restart. The funny thing about taking down on enemy is that it puts other nearby enemies into a takedown-able state, since you become invincible while taking down an enemy. This seems to somehow "reset" the eligibility of the takedown and let everyone nearby be taken down, so you can just chain a bunch of takedowns and run through your enemies.

This does NOT work on the super-armor sniper guys . I wouldn't recommend following the trick where the other poster said to damage them with your gun to knock their helmet off, just follow the standard double-takedown on them. Remember: No damage, no hitmarkers, takedown only.

Thank you for this solution. The last 3 soliders went completely ballistic and chased me around as a group, making it quite cumbersome to sneak and stab any of them. This worked fine and that probably saved me from starting all over again.

I've done this 3 times now with no unlock. I don't get any hit markers on anyone. I don't swap, aim, or fire my weapon. I don't throw anything and I don't use the knife ability to draw attention. I always clear every enemy on the previous floors.

Thank you for this solution. The last 3 soliders went completely ballistic and chased me around as a group, making it quite cumbersome to sneak and stab any of them. This worked fine and that probably saved me from starting all over again.

Mentioning additionally to the guides here:

You have to clear the ground floor (the one you emerge from the underground) before going up to the next level of the department store. I missed to take down all of them in my first two runs for this achievement n failed to get it.
I can confirm that you have to take out EVERYONE by takedown to get this pain in the xxx achievement.

This just popped for me on veteran so I'd like to dispell a few myths that are floating around in the guides/comments.

Things I did during the unlock:
- melee'd guards then came back and used takedowns
- threw smoke
- hit a guard in the face with a smoke grenade

Given the difficulty a lot of people are having it's quite possible this achievement is glitchy, so I want to reassure you if it's not unlocking, it's probably not something you're doing wrong. No need to make it harder on yourself by not meleeing or using smoke.

Definitely take out the people on the ground floor first before moving onwards. Once on the higher levels you will probably be spotted. There are numerous vents around the edges that are great to hide/heal in.

If you manage to pull off something tricky (like taking down the lmg guards for example) go for a run around the level (use the vents or change floors) to try and trigger a checkpoint and lock in your progress.

Definitely a frustrating achievement but totally doable. Don't overthink it, and if you're having trouble, come back later on recruit difficulty and try again.

I had problems with takedowns because it's rng between takedown and melee when enemies have found you. If you have takedown indicator on your screen it still might do normal melee. After few tries i found this video:

Running front of enemy and using cn_up on d-pad (whistle to get snipers attention) distracts enemy and gives you option to takedown. This doesn't work on Jägermörder or general with pistol, but i noticed that if you come out from crawling space or behind corner it gives you most of the time option to takedown so use that on them. Also enemy with shotgun is the sniper so don't try to take him down because you can't kill him. Just run away until he goes back to his sniping position.

First floor you don't have this cn_up ability. Left side enemies are easy to takedown, but to kill mid and rightside enemies you need to push them, because they don't come to left side. After they spot you, you can try to hide and get them back to seek mode. After you manage to do this enemies will come to left side.

If you can't get them to seek mode you can use this method which i mentioned earlier
If you come out from crawling space or behind corner it gives you most of the time option to takedown
Hope this helps and sorry for bad english.

Mission 6: Lady Nightingale

There's always an annoying and frustrating trophy on CoD games, well it is most definitely this one. It's not very difficult but it's really frustrating. Definitely attempt this on Recruit as it is impossible on Veteran.

So after the section where you carry Misha, you'll end up inside a building which is the department store. From now on, you need to kill every enemies with takedowns only. Press r3.png when prompted, to perform a takedown on an enemy. It's very important to wait for the prompt to appear, otherwise you'll just punch the enemy and it won't count.

In the first section, there are 6 enemies to kill before climbing up. They're pretty easy to get rid of, they won't see you unless you get really close to them so wait until they're alone and get rid of them one by one. If you get spotted it's easier to just reload the checkpoint and retry.

In the second section, there will be 4 enemies. One in front of you when you enter, one on the right, one on the left and the next one at the end of this section. Again, pretty easy.

You can miss these enemies so make sure you kill them all before moving on. After that you don't have to worry as it'll be mandatory to kill them all.

After that, you'll reach the top floor and you'll have to kill the sniper. You'll get spotted here but don't worry, just go on either side and sneak your way behind him to perform a takedown. As you need 2 takedowns to kill snipers, do the same when he moves on the other side of the area.

After killing the sniper, there will be a first group of 12 enemies but it's very difficult to explain a good strategy as they are random and will go wherever they want through the area. Just stay hidden and wait until you see one of them alone and kill them with takedowns, one by one. Just take your time and play it safe, if you get spotted reload checkpoint. After killing these enemies (or before, if they find out something looks wrong, it's a bit random here) more enemies will spawn. The same strategy here to take them one by one.

Now the fun begins. After killing a certain number of enemies, you will get spotted. No matter what you do, combat will be triggered and you can't do anything about it. A sniper will also spawn as well as an MG enemy.

The thing here is to stay very close to enemies and wait until they run to take cover. You will have a few seconds to perform takedowns but make sure to not miss as sometimes it'll just punch them. If it happens, just reload checkpoint. Again, take them one by one, this is a bit of a mess as they will contantly shoot at you and you'll need to retreat and get back to crawlspaces etc. Keep doing that and eventually you'll get them all, then take care of the sniper and the trophy should pop.

Here is a video by PowerPyx, as I couldn't record a decent one when attempting the trophy and will never get back to trying it again:

Mission 6: Lady Nightingale

Forewarning: this achievement is an absolute nightmare, and will likely take you upwards of an hour or two depending on how (un)lucky you get.

The second half of this mission, after getting Misha to safety, has you crawling through debris and into the ground floor of a department store. From here until the objective to eliminate all of Steiner's troops is completed, you must kill every enemy with a takedown. This achievement seems to be either buggy or at least has some very strict criteria that are not explicit. Here is what I know from experience and research:

  • It is fine if you get detected. That does not void the achievement. If you can hide and eliminate the active fighting, you can resume takedowns and still get this achievement.
  • It seems that hurting an enemy by any means, even if you don't kill them, voids the achievement. For me, I accidentally meleed an enemy, and even though it didn't kill them and I still killed the enemy later with a takedown, it still voided the achievement.
  • It seems that enemies can inadvertantly shoot and kill other enemies while trying to kill you, if you're detected. As a result, ALWAYS reload if you are detected, just to be safe. There are a ton of enemies to kill, and it'll be disheartening to start from the previous checkpoint, but it's better than having to redo the entire mission.
  • It is NOT mandatory for the Jagermorders to detect you and get into a gunfight with you, despite popular belief. More on that below.
This department store part of the mission where the achievement takes place is actually broken up into three sections.

  1. The first section is on the ground floor. There are a total of 10 enemies you need to take out, and it's best to do it stealthily because it's a small area and therefore extremely unlikely you'll be able to retreat and hide. I specifically mention the number of enemies because in this section it's possible to climb up to the next floor without having killed every enemy, and that voids the achievement. Keep track and make sure you kill all 10 before climbing up to the next floor.
  2. On the next floor, you'll squeeze between an opening and into another room. This room has four enemies to kill. Again, make sure to kill all four and don't bypass any or you'll void the achievement. Reload if you get detected.
  3. After that, you'll walk around a ledge and get thrown down by a Jagermorder. This third section is very long and has easily 20-30 enemies to kill, and is the toughest part. Right off the bat, a sniper will be opposite you. Sprint to the right, crouch, and sneak behind the sniper. You'll see that you need to do two takedowns on the Jagermorder snipers to kill them. Thankfully, it doesn't matter if they shoot you with their sniper rifles. So after the first takedown and smoke grenade, simply stand towards the open middle of the area, and look for the muzzle flash and bullet that comes for you to see where the sniper is hiding next. Once again sneak around behind him and takedown kill him.
  4. After that, enemies will start spawning all over the place, in groups of four typically, but they don't wait for one group to be killed before the next spawns. On top of that, while they're spawning, another Jagermorder or two will spawn as well. You'll need to kill the Jagermorders/snipers and all enemies. Once the last is dead, the objective will complete, and if you used all takedowns you'll unlock this achievement.
A couple things to note here. The first, and most important, is that it's not mandatory for the Jagermorders at the end to automatically detect you and cause an open fight. If a smoke grenade explodes and you start getting shot, it means you got close to a Jagermorder and they detected you, or you're underneath one. Reload your checkpoint immediately. Now that you have an idea where they are, approach crouched on the top floor to where you got ambushed, and you'll be able to find the Jagermorder waiting. Use a takedown (you'll need two total), and then immediately hide after he throwns the smoke, because regular enemies will come to see what happened. Ideally, you should try to take down all regular enemies first and save the Jagermorder for last so you don't have to worry about his smoke causing enemies to come looking for you.

The final and absolutely most frustrating thing about this achievement is that the game can/will decide to give you a checkpoint at literally the worst possible time. In my successful run, FOUR TIMES I was given a checkpoint immediately after being detected, forcing me to manage and improvise with this terrible checkpoint. Always keep smoke grenades on hand to deal with these inevitable situations where you get screwed by the horrible checkpoints. The smoke grenades will cause any enemy, if they run into the smoke and don't see you) to get stunned, allowing you to either escape, or to do a takedown on them. Be prepared to improve with smoke grenades and do takedowns in the smoke if you get terrible checkpoints as well. There is an unlimited supply of smoke grenades in a crate on the lower floor, in the back room right where you landed when you started this section. Try to stay full on smokes, just in case.

A very dreary trophy, considering that the game does not have any tools for stealth, it should be done naturally, on an easy difficulty level, preferably clearly on video. Watch out for saving on CT, if the Germans get alarmed and attack openly, the trophy may not be given when restarting from CT.

The trophy should only be knocked out with a quick attack (finishing blow) on
But don’t rush, every enemy can only be attacked with a quick attack, and Polina sometimes hits with her butt, be careful, if you hit at least once you won’t get this trophy
This happened 14 times and the trophy did not fall out.

Perhaps it has already been corrected. But now I calmly got it by reloading the CT when I accidentally hit him with the butt.

I didn’t use the video hint, it essentially takes up time, as soon as we get to the department store, we kill 3 opponents in the department store itself, then we clear the entire first floor opposite, including the courtyard, only then we go up to the top, I could be wrong, but if we immediately go up, the opponents below will disappear, how will it affect I didn't check the receipt of the trophy. Further, after the cut scene, where we are dropped several floors down, improvisation begins, going completely through stealth is unlikely to work, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO KILL ALL ENEMIES WITH A QUICK ATTACK through R3, and it doesn’t matter if they see you or not, use smoke, it’s long tedious but everything will work out when Polina says that there is only the Fritz left behind whom she followed (I don’t remember the name), the trophy will fall out, if you failed, for example, you killed a German, just reload the CT with the butt.

For me the hardest moment is at the very beginning. because at this stage Polina does not have smoke or the ability to whistle. And then he killed all the enemies through the ability that will become. True, the latest wave of Krauts does not react to it at all. Here, a box with endless smoke grenades, which lies next to the place where we fell into this location, will help. The only thing is that the sniper must be killed quietly from behind when he is left alone.

Tactics for those who choose the slow but sure path to achieve this trophy. Knocked it out on the third try. As has already been correctly said, it is impossible to completely pass through stealth. The first floor is either stealth or open, but, as already mentioned, it will not be possible to stand at the initial stage. When they cut off all the Krauts on the first floor and further until the cutscene, when Polina is thrown down by a stinking shotgun fascist, in order to escape from the sniper we use a distracting maneuver - a nightingale whistle (already available). Then we squat around the sniper along the left edge of the hotel through various manholes and tunnels, go behind the sniper’s back and cut him. On the second try he dies. After that there will be several waves of Krauts, 4 or 5. In the first 3 waves you can kill everyone by stealth, I was hiding in the left northern tunnel near the bar or some kind of counter on the very top floor. He calmly removed one Fritz at a time. If you raise the alarm or stealth is a burden, you can equip low-ranking fascists with a nightingale whistle, which, when activated, immediately gives you the opportunity to kill them - this cheat has not been fixed yet, so we are using the bug. After the 3rd wave, stealth does not work, the fascists are always running around cheating. But even here everything can really be done, we hide and take them out one by one between saves, on the last wave the whistle is already on the side, so we hide and maneuver from the back or when they are reloading, there you really need to seize the moment. IMPORTANT!!! Saves always happen when the sniper changes location, if you hear the hiss of a smoke grenade, it means there will be a save soon. There are two snipers, we kill the first at the very beginning, the second at the very end. There will also be 2 machine gunners on the 4th or 5th wave. If you hit us with a butt, we immediately reload because the trophy will not fall out. If you think you've cleared everything and only the last sniper remains, recheck the lower floors. In my second attempt, I missed the machine gunner on the penultimate floor; he was apparently chilling there.

Watch out for grenades, they explode on their own as well (on low difficulty).
Also, be careful where you throw the smoke ones, 2 Krauts were killed when they hit my leg with a ricochet. The slightest doubt - restart the CT scan.
