How to unlock the She'll Be Right Mate achievement in Call of Duty: Vanguard - Definitive Guide

At the end of the mission you will help Des pickup a machinegun and will place it on top of a small wall. In this area there will be a Warmachine, MG42-Extended Mags and a MP40 9mm 64 Round Drums. Use the Warmachine on the two vehicles that approach you. For the other enemies use the MG42 and MP40. Also I would recommend playing on Recruit difficulty for this, and staying near the crates on the right side. Don’t run too far down the road otherwise you’ll get a message telling you to return to the battlefield.

Found this really helpful, the war machine tip definitely made it easier.

TL;DR skip to the last paragraph...

Stage Select: El Alamein
Difficulty: Recruit

This is the last part of the level so get to the point where you get knocked back by an explosion and pulled back up on your feet by Des.
You will have nothing but a pistol so from this point, try to stock up on ammo with your gun of choice and explosives. It is up to you, but I used MG42 and MP40 since there is more ammo for those in the last section. Furthermore, when you get to the last area, there will be a MG42 with extended mags for you to swap to.

Once you enter the last area, kill the troops there first and then scavenge for your gear. There are some mines over on the left that you can set up prior to helping Des with the machine gun. I am not sure these helped much but I put them in places that the nazis would hide behind like the car on the right.

Then grab the Death Machine and help Des set up the MG. A couple half tracks will roll up and then you can just roast them with a couple DM shots each. Finish using that and swap the empty DM with the MP40 you dropped earlier.

So here is the key I believe...
Get in front of Des so he can't shoot anyone and maybe periodically melee or shoot him to make him stumble. You grab the kills and he gets pistol whipped.
Also try to use the ammo well since I felt like there is an ammo drought at the end there. Good luck!

Mission 8: The Battle of El Alamein

This trophy takes place at the very end of this mission. You'll have to help Des put up a machine gun but before that, search the area and take some big guns like MG guns and some grenades. You can also grab some S-mines and go place them on the area in front of you.

Once you help Des, a huge combat encounter will start and your goal will be to kill twice as many enemies as Des. Cool, however there is no counter and the two protagonists only mention that very briefly through dialogues. Your best best is to just kill as many soldiers as you can since the friendly AI is not very helpful in this game anyway so this should come naturally.

Mission 8: El Alamein

At the very end of this mission, after taking the hill with Des, Des will ask you to help him pick up an MG. This is the area this achievement takes place in. Scout out the area before you interact to help Des, and you'll see a Warmachine (grenade launcher, perfect for tanks), an MG42, and a MP40 with barrel mags. Take note of their locations in case you run out of ammo.

After interacting with Des to help with the MG, you'll start a firefight, and this is where you need to get twice as many kills as Des. While it's possible to do this on higher difficulties, you can run around and be a lot more reckless on Recruit, so I recommend doing it on that difficulty so you don't have to spend time behind cover refilling your health while Des is getting kills.

The first half of the fight, Des is on the MG so there isn't much you can do about him. Focus on the right side of the hill and kill as many enemies as possible. The MG42 is great for this since you can kill lots of enemies without stopping to reload. Around the halfway point, enemies will stop and Des's MG will break, so he'll be on foot like you. At this point, you can actually melee him to stun him and stop him from shooting enemies for a bit. What I would do is wait for enemies to spawn, let him run to their side and follow him, then melee him to stun him and quickly shoot as many enemies as you can. Melee him again if you want, and repeat so you steal as many kills as possible.

If you stay aggressive, this achievement shouldn't be an issue, so don't fret over continually hitting Des to stop him. Right after the last enemies are dead, this achievement will unlock if you killed twice as many as him. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to know how many you've each killed, and if the achievement doesn't unlock you'll need to play through the entire mission over again to try again.

There will be no counter that would show who killed how many - so you can only rely on the lines in the dialogues between the characters.
In good situations, Lucas will tell Des something like “I killed more than you, catch up.”

I advise you to take a machine gun and a rifle with a scope. With such an arsenal, earning an achievement will not be difficult.
