How to unlock the Slow But Deadly achievement in Call of Duty: Vanguard - Definitive Guide
This is my first time ever writing a guide to get an achievement so bear with me if I struggle a bit
The basic understanding you have to know about this achievement is two icons a blue icon = friendly plane while the skull icon = Enemy plane.
these two symbols will pop up when an ally is actively being chased by an enemy plane.
in the first dog fight in the clouds, you are forced to get 2 of the five but, the next 3 are missable.
The next step will take place after your first divebomb attempt you will have the opportunity to get your next three.
I recommend being on recruit difficulty and just flying slowly in a circle ignoring any combat and waiting for a Marker to pop up.
I noticed that you will see the blue friendly icon first then you will need to fly close to them to get the skull icon. You generally know that taking out the plane counted if over the radio your ally commends you for the help.
I hope this comes across well enough for y'all to understand! :)

This might be the worst achievement in Cod history. Can't think of a more broken mechanic than the flying in this game and especially regarding this achievement. Just an abysmal display of effort from this team, it's actually upsetting.

It's worth noting that you do not need to wait for the yellow skull icon to appear. In fact, I found that waiting had my odds at getting a kill lower since the enemy planes destroyed my allies quicker than I was able to take them out. Just focus on the "Blue Star" icon indicating an ally is in danger. There will always be a "Red" enemy plane on their tail. Take 5 of them out and the achievement is yours!
Mission 4: The Battle of Midway
You will control an airplane during this mission and soon after getting off the sky, your allies will be attackes by some other planes. Sometimes you'll see a blue icon, which is one of your ally, being chase by an enemy marked with a red icon a bit more visible than others. These are the guys you are looking for so whenever you see these icons go chase them and shoot at them. There are 2 that you can kill before the first Dive-bomb, then you can finish them off after the dive-bomb.

Mission 4: The Battle of Midway
During the various firefights in this mission, you'll notice an ally plane get marked with a blue icon. This means an enemy is chasing that ally. The enemy will get marked with a red circle. During one playthrough of this mission (i.e. this achievement is not cumulative and cannot be grinded via checkpoint reloading), you need to save five ally planes who are being shot at by enemies with a red circle symbol. This achievement can be quite a pain, because there's no definitive way to know if a kill you got counted.
It should go without saying, but this is obviously much easier if you play on Recruit difficulty. In the first section of the mission, enemies will attack, and there are four separate enemies to kill. For some reason, it seems that only two allies saved in this section count towards this achievement, even though it may seem like you saved four allies in this first section. Ensure that you save at least two allies during this section, otherwise you won't have a chance at this achievement in the remainder of the mission.
After that, you'll do the first dive bomb section. Between the first and second dive bomb is the only remaining opportunity to get the remaining (hopefully three) ally saves. They are much more difficult because it's pretty chaotic with everything going on, the enemies fly all over the place (making them harder to hit), and the battlefield is much bigger, so you will need to fly around to find blue symbol allies being chased. Use checkpoint reloading extremely liberally here: as soon as you see an ally show up marked with a blue symbol, fly over and attempt to shoot the enemy. If you can't take out the enemy with a single clip relatively quickly, reload the checkpoint. The ally and enemy will appear in the same place every time, so you can practice a bit to learn where the next will spawn each time. You'll have a solid four opportunities during this section to save an ally, so just capitalize on each one and reload if you fail.

It is necessary to destroy exactly those enemy aircraft that are marked with a yellow skull; ally aircraft that need help are marked with a blue asterisk. At the beginning of the mission, before the first dive, there will be 2 such planes, then 3 and more, one immediately after you drop the bomb and level the plane, the remaining 2 in the subsequent battle. BUT! Be careful, CHECKPOINTS WILL OCCUR FREQUENTLY AFTER THE FIRST DIVE! You may miss the moment, and then you will have to go through the mission again.

It is not necessary to shoot them down in one playthrough; the trophy is cumulative.
