Ack Ack Achievement/Trophy Guide

During the second mission 'Operation Cobra' you will come to a point where you will man a AA Gun and will need to shoot down planes that are firing upon you. The objective here is to destroy all 20 Planes (and no, this isn't as bad as the Battlefield One achievement) and can be done by restarting checkpoints if needed, however if you miss one and there is a checkpoint you will need to restart the mission.

Thankfully, there is a pattern to the planes and it is as follows:
3 RIGHT - 3 MIDDLE - 2 LEFT - 2 LEFT - 3 MIDDLE - 2 RIGHT - 2 LEFT - 2 LEFT - 1 MIDDLE

Note: This achievement for Xbox didn't unlock for me until AFTER I completed the Mission so pay extra attention to if you actually saw them blow up or were just on flames and if you're not sure simply restart the checkpoint.

Pretty easy imo, if you miss a plane they often blow you up making some planes unmissable.

Either this is easy or glitched. I’m fairly certain I missed some of the planes (a squad mate even gave a remark ”Is that all you’ve got Daniels?” when a group of enemy planes passed us by unscathed) and still I got the achievement at the end of the mission.

I agree, I wasn't going for this achievement I was just trying to survive and I'm pretty sure I didn't hit them all. Still gave you an upvote though, just reporting my findings.

Yeah definitely got even though I missed a couple of planes.
I even got a checkpoint right when I missed a plane so I couldn't get that one and missed one or two more during the final wave.

i am 100% sure i missed some, i literally closed the game halfway through the mission and came back to finish it the next day, then this popped 😂 no idea why but i'm not complaining

This achievement is from the second mission of the campaign, Operation Cobra. Partway through the mission you will come to an AA (anti-aircraft) gun which you'll need to use to shoot down enemy planes. There are 20 planes in total and the achievement description states you must destroy all of them, but some players have reported unlocking this achievement even after missing several planes completely. Still, try to get them all just to be safe!

Here's the order they come in:
3 RIGHT
3 MIDDLE
2 LEFT (overhead/left)
2 LEFT
3 MIDDLE
2 RIGHT
2 LEFT
2 LEFT
1 MIDDLE (comes very fast!)

Remember to lead your targets and keep in mind that sometimes they'll crash by themselves after being shot a couple times. You can use checkpoints to try again if you know you missed some, otherwise you'll have to replay the entire mission. The achievement likely won't pop until you finish the mission (and you might need to even click on the third mission to trigger the unlock). Good luck!

This goal is pretty easy, and the pattern of the planes is always the same, so just make sure you're leading your shots and that the planes are getting destroyed.

If at any point you miss a plane, immediately pause the game and choose Last Checkpoint.

After getting on the AA Gun in Mission 2, you have to shoot down bombers trying to attack your allied tanks. There are 20 planes in total. They come in waves, in this order: 3 RIGHT - 3 MIDDLE - 2 LEFT - 2 LEFT - 3 MIDDLE - 2 RIGHT - 2 LEFT - 2 LEFT - 1 MIDDLE You are allowed to restart checkpoints if you miss a plane.

Midway through "Operation Cobra" you'll be in control of an AA gun which you'll be using to shoot down several waves of enemy planes. You will need to successfully shoot down all 20 planes that fly in from various directions for the trophy. The pattern in which the planes fly in is fixed, so if you need to restart it will always be the same and you'll be better prepared. The planes need to have exploded after being shot for them to register as being destroyed, if you hit a plane but it only has a smoke trail coming from the back of it then it won't count.

Bear in mind that the planes are a moving target of significant speed, therefore you'll need to aim your shots slightly ahead in the direction they are flying in order to successfully make contact with them. Also make sure to take momentary pauses whilst shooting and not just continuously fire, otherwise the AA gun will overheat and you'll be unable to fire again until it's cooled down. The bar that indicates this is at the bottom right of the screen. If a plane managed to get away, you can pause and restart from your last checkpoint.

There will be nine waves in total. Immediately after the fifth wave, autosave is triggered. If you missed before or during the fifth wave, restart, otherwise the mission will have to start from the very beginning.
