How to unlock the One of the Lucky Few achievement in Call of Duty: WWII - Definitive Guide
- Reloading the checkpoint also resets the 2 minute timer
Mission 1 (D-DAY)
While you move towards the enemy in mission 1, your goal is to be quick and cross the beach in under 2 minutes and don't take any damage at all.
Unlike the time limit, this can be really tricky since you are surrounded by bullets and explosions. If you get hit, reload your last checkpoint and the time limit will reset, giving you infinite trials for your perfect run.
As far as I know, there is no 100% secure route, only the cover that is spread across the beach. Try to follow the NPC's and move fast from cover to cover. The achievement will unlock after you used the explosive at the seawall.
The achievement is either buggy or the timer isn't reset with checkpoint reloads.
It takes 40 seconds from original control of the protagonist to the checkpoint after picking up the bangalore, and it takes 25 seconds for the cutscene and bangalore deployment at the seawall. This means that, from the checkpoint after picking up the banger, you only have 55 seconds to get across the beach.
Apparently my run in the first video wasn't fast enough, so I shaved 25 seconds off my last route to get up the beach within the new time limit.
The key is waiting in each shown cover area about 3 seconds for the machine guns to "forget" you're there.
Skip to 2:24 for the beginning of the route.
Difficulty: Any
This comes down to mostly timing and follow a safe route. Personally, I found the best route to be up the middle, following Pierson at first, but then separating from him as he continues right. You want to be following the patterns of your squad and listening to callouts (and subtitles) about when it is safe to run. Whenever the enemy is firing their turret, you should be behind cover proning, getting ready to sprint when the fire stops.
If at any point you are hit and take damage to your health, immediately pause the game and choose Last Checkpoint.
- After the cutscene with Turner you have 2 mins to breach the seawall without taking any damage
- You can "Restart Checkpoint" as much as you need, it will reset your timer which gives you unlimited retries for this achievement
- My method involved zig-zagging my way down the beach by running and diving behind each cover until i reached the seawall
Just do this all the way up to the see wall. If you lose health and need to restart just reload last checkpoint. You can get lucky and get this first try or get unlucky and be there for 20 minutes.
Video guide:
This achievement/trophy can be earned at the start of the first mission 'D-Day' once you gain access to moving your character. You will need to make it to the end of the beach and complete the objective without losing any health which is represented as the Green Bar down in the bottom left.
The best way to do this is to stick close to Pierson the entire time and rush from cover to cover then go prone until either Pierson moves or the MG stops firing. Running and holding the prone button can be a life saver here but if you get hit you can simply restart checkpoint.
Here is a video guide of how it's done.
Personally I found it easier to go to the right where Zussman is. I found there was more cover that way. Also when your Captain says "Quick before they reload", most of the time they were still shooting so you'd end up getting hit. I decided not to listen to him and go another way.
The time limit is actually easy, it's the not getting shot that is the hard part. Listen for a break in fire and use all available cover to your advantage. Dive is your friend.
Managed to do it in like 1:20.

This Achievement/Trophy Begins at the very beginning of the mission D-Day. You wanna make sure you don't get shot even during the part after you jump out of the boat. After Turner finishes talking to you, go to your left to where Pierson is and follow him till the objective. When you're waiting for him to move to the next cover, prone behind cover to avoid getting shot. You'll know when you get shot if your screen gets red and health bar on the bottom left isn't full. Once you get to the objective and blow it up, the trophy/achievement will pop : }
Please follow my route and try to run and jump, and you will succeed
Note: the time to blast the target point is also included. Please blast as soon as possible and then enjoy the sound of the achievement
(I did this on veteran difficulty.)
Breaching the seawall is the first objective you'll be tasked with completing in the opening mission "D-Day". You will constantly be under fire from MG’s and mortar rounds on the beach; however, there are several positions where you can take cover when running to the seawall. Once you’ve picked up the “Banger” from the dead soldier, you’ll want to closely follow the same route Pierson takes as he’ll run to each cover point when the enemies are reloading their MG’s.
When you are taking cover behind the barricades, you’ll need to go prone by holding down as you’ll be hit if only crouching. When you reach the final barricade and go prone, wait for the MG bullets to stop ricocheting rapidly off the metal. When the fire stops after a brief moment make a dash for the seawall target. Once you’ve put together the “Banger”, you’ll need to move into the circle shown on the screen the press (default controls) to throw it up the seawall. The trophy will pop after the explosion. If at any point you were hit by any bullets, you can pause and restart from your last checkpoint.
