Mission: Countdown

At the beginning of the mission, you'll be dropped off via helicopter on a skyscraper. You will then grapple down the side of the building with Captain Price. You can actually grapple down in two fashions, right site up or upside down. I recommend staying upside down.

You'll be warned of hostages that need to be freed and this is where the achievement will begin. There are just 3 levels of hostages to clear out and you will complete them one by one.

First Level: 2 enemies
- Upon grappling down to the first level, you'll see the two enemies standing close to one another. I'd recommend getting into position where you can line them and take two quick shots.

Second Level: 4 enemies
- You'll have two enemies on the far left and two right in front of you. I recommend walking over to the two on the left and quickly taking them out. This should not alert the ones on the right. I would then shoot the one CLOSEST to you first, followed by the guy in the back.

Third Level: 5 enemies
- This one took me a couple times. You'll see 1 guy on the far left by himself, two on the far right that are standing, and two enemies that walk up the middle . I would recommend taking out the two guys on the far right, and then sweeping to the left with the middle and then far guy on the right. May have to alternate between the middle and the guy on the far left.

Should you have any issues, you can always revert to the previous checkpoint and try again.

Done at the start of Mission 16: Countdown, land in the helicopter and rappel down the side of the building. We'll need to clear three floors/windows before the hostiles get chance to fire a shot. I recommend reorientating yourself, so you are upright to make things easier.

Window 1: Approach from the far left and quickly kill the two hostiles with two accurate shots. Nothing fancy here.

Window 2: Again, approach from the far left but come into view very low (peeking). Kill the closest enemy to you first, then the one directly behind him and quickly the two to the right before they become alerted.

Windows 3: Same again, come in from the left and low. Line up the first two on the left and kill those with 1 penetration round. Then quickly swing to the three on the right - hopefully if angled correctly you can get another collateral and clean up the straggler.

It checkpoints after each window so if you get spotted just restart from the previous checkpoint and try again.

If the enemies start shooting, you can restart checkpoint. The checkpoints are quite generous when going for this as there's a new checkpoint after each floor. You can restart checkpoint as many times you need.

This achievement take's place at the start of the Countdown mission. After arriving at the scene via a helicopter you will start to repel down the building. On the first floor you encounter two enemies that will be in front of you. Take them out with the VEL 46 and make your way to the 2nd floor.

Once at the 2nd floor, takeout the two enemies on the left side of the room in quick succession. Next eliminate the enemy wearing the red jumper in the corridor. Lastly, takeout the enemy on the right side of the room.

Once at the 3rd floor, go to the right side and wait for two enemies to group up together and eliminate them. The last three enemies will be grouped next to each other on the left side of the room. From where you are takeout the last 3 enemies.

The COD MW2 mission 'Countdown' requires you to rescue 3 floors of hostages by eliminated the enemies.

I highly recommend staying in the upside-down positioning as you clear out all 3 floors.

First floor has two enemies. Both should line up perfectly on your right side. If you have to, fire two shots to free the hostages.

Second floor has 4 enemies. Make your way all the way to the left and take out the two enemies. They should line up nicely for a collatoral but feel free to fire a few rounds to ensure they are eliminated. Duck back down and swing to your right. Head peak just enough to see the enemy closest to you, take him out with a headshot. Once you take him out, take another step or two and take out the enemy in the hallway with a headshot.

Third floor has 5 enemies. Make your way to the right side, take out the two enemies by eliminating the farthest enemy first then the one closest to you. Swing to your left and you'll be able to see the last 3 enemies. Take out whichever one is standing by himself then quickly take out the last two.

After you clear the third floor, the achievement should pop!

At the start of the “Countdown” mission you’ll be in a helicopter and eventually you’ll drop off on a skyscraper. You’ll the rappel down it and be informed that there are hostages on the three floors below you.

Orientate yourself upside down so only your head and gun and peeking into the window.

On the first floor:

— 2 guys total
— Very straightforward, shoot both before they get to fire a bullet out of their gun.

On the second floor:

— 4 guys total
— 2 on the left (one walks towards the left-most enemy), take these two out first, but let them line up first for a fast double kill.
— There is one more on the right, and another in the doorway behind this first guy. Sometimes that guy in the doorway moves out of sight, try and time it so he’s still in view and take both out very quickly. Move yourself towards the right (but not all the way) and clip both, they won’t be lined up and you should always go for the closer one first as the reaction time of these guys is almost instant (guessing they react to the sound, not the kill).

On the third floor:

— 5 guys total
— This one was actually easy despite what others say on their guides.
— Go towards the right and wait a few seconds, Cpt. Price will be talking over the radio, shortly after he will say “five guys …”
— By that point, the two guys on the right will have lined up for a quick double kill. You can then look to the left and the other 3 guys will have lined up for you as well (diagonally), all from the same spot without your need to move. Just move yourself slightly to the right of those two guys on the right before engagement. It was a perfect shot from there.

That’s it.

Upon each floor wipe, there will be a checkpoint, so feel free to reload the checkpoint should anything go wrong and you’ll spawn before the next floor.
