How to unlock the Racer boy achievement in Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 - Definitive Guide

Ok, so I did the achievement in the 30th story customer's car but keep in mind that car is rear wheel drive and very loose on handling.

I ended up running a 1:40 with a 1999 Hinata Moon Mk1 Special Edition OTs I pulled out of a barn. This car comes in AWD with 363 HP as a I4 SOHC 4x4 with the option for I4 DOHC 4x4 that produces 279 HP so it ends up being quite stable. Anything that has AWD will be very stable so if you are having issues you can always add some performance parts to increase tuning. This car can be found at all 4 locations, so if you are just trying for the achievement and you have the cash you can pull it up in the Salon. If your model you find is a DOHC you can always swap the motor.

For the track, there are no racing lines, so pay attention to the side of the road for the numbers that tell you when to brake. There are a few banked corners and a few sharp corners so be aware of them. There is no penalty for running off the road either, so practice a few laps. This car was capable of running under the goal from a standing start, so even though there are cars with more HP out there this one is a good car to do this achievement. Just keep in mind that if you brake, the car will slide in a straight line, so let off the brakes when cornering. Brake straight line, corner without using the brakes. This car also has a tendency to understeer. You don't need a perfect performance.

Good luck!

Edit: I also decided to give a front wheel drive car a go and found the 1996 Katagiri Katsumoto Street Fighter version with 319 HP in an I4 DOHC BFM motor to run a 1:43 after a run up lap. I did make a mistake going into the first corner and went off on the left side starting the second lap. If you go with this car, it has a tendency to understeer, especially with heavy braking. Otherwise this car is also very stable and quick, but not as effective as the Hinata Moon Mk 1. I found this car in a barn as well, however I also told the game in the settings to put all cars everywhere, so if you aren't using that setting, it says you can find the car at the Junkyard or the Auction.

Edit 2: I have gotten a downvote for what I thought was a pretty solid solution. Short of me coming to your house and doing the achievement for you, could you please explain what I need to do to get this to an upvote, I'd appreciate it, thanks. Downvote has been reversed, thank you. Sorry if I came off as an ass.

Nice work on getting the achievement. I mean, I'd love to tell people that getting the achievement would be as easy as the negative timer glitch on the previous game, but that glitch isn't in this game. I did use the 30th customer's car, but it was so slippery.

All right, look, I get it, the controls and handling engine are not Forza quality, but the achievement is pretty doable without having to push the car to 1k hp. You just have to slow down for the corners and practice a little to get used to it. I didn't run the time on my very first attempt with the 30th client's car being 879 HP either, and that was down to it being RWD and the driving engine being pretty trash. That's why I suggested AWD and even tested a FWD car. Yes I do play a lot of Forza so it's easier for me to do, but I think this achievement is doable with these 2 cars. It just takes a bit of effort to learn how to drive in THIS game as compared to a real engineered and tested driving game.

To complete this achievement, you need to be able to access the "Race Track" on your list of destinations. I'm not sure what level this unlocks, but the game will tell you when you try to go if you're not high enough, similar to the Barn or Auction locations. Keep doing jobs until you get enough XP.

The race track itself is has a few curvy bits, but also long straightaways for you to make up time. The key to completing a lap under the 1 minute 50 second mark is finding a car that handles well and has decent speed. I tried about five different cars and found that the high-end sports cars handled so poorly that I could barely accelerate without fish-tailing. I literally could not get out of first gear without completely losing control.

I ended up using a DC Typhoon that I bought from auction, so keep an eye out for this. It's a vintage race car, so it has speed but it also handles very well. I took it apart and made sure everything was at 100% when I reassembled it. I didn't bother doing much tuning - I mostly used repaired standard parts with the tuned filters, pistons, and other non-repairable parts. Another online guide I found said that your tires make a difference in handling. I used the vintage race tires on all four slots, but you may want to do vintage racing on the front and slick on the back.

Once you have your car ready, travel to the race track. Do one or two laps to get familiar with the track. Make sure to slow down before curves so that you don't go off road or crash into the side of the track. The timer is pretty forgiving, so even if you make a few mistakes or need to slow down dramatically, you should still be able to make the time. I finished with a time of 1:45 or so, but additional tuning would grant faster speed if necessary. Good luck!

This achievement must be done on the Race Track destination which you can travel to using the map.

There are plenty of cars that have the engine power to finish this track in time, however the real challenge is handling your vehicle as you navigate the turns.

I strongly recommend using an Xbox or equivalent controller for this achievement if you are playing on PC. The reason for this is because keyboard driving uses the W & S keys for acceleration and braking, the L & R triggers of a controller on the other hand are obviously more suited for controlling a vehicle, not to mention the smoother turning of a thumbstick. Make sure you aren't putting the acceleration trigger all the way down, you should be easing the trigger halfway down until it's safe to go top speed.

I was able to unlock this achievement with a DC Typhoon with a V8 OHV Supercharged engine, I think I had 26% improved tuning through parts (which was overkill), but the real trick is to combine racing slicks with race tires so you can stay on the track easier during straights. I put 2 vintage race tires up front and 2 slicks on the rear.

At that point it's a matter of learning the track. Figure out the turns, the straights, when to slow down and when to floor it and you'll have your achievement in no time.

Lastly, in case you didn't discover it on your own you can change the camera to be from the driver seat or a 3rd person angle, depending on your preference.

1 min 45 secs from standing start with 2 crashes. Griffin Tyro

I tried a great many RWD cars and found them almost impossible to control no matter what tyres I used.

My solution below achieved a 1 min 45 seconds, from a standing start, and I crashed twice during that lap. So should be very easily achievable for you.

I purchased a FWD Griffin Tyro from the auction.

Replaced all four stock 205/40R/18 tyres with Slick Tire C of the same size.

Replaced the front exhaust, middle muffler, and rear muffler with upgraded replacements from the tuning shop.

Here's the important part : In Options > Settings >Game Settings I changed steering sensitivity to 60%. Any less than that and it won't go round the corners (10% was hilarious!), and any more than that the cars are too twitchy.

This is the first guide I posted here, I see a lot of people using souped up race style cars on this and getting times between 1:40 - 1:44. Well here is the easiest way..

I got 1:46 in a Salem Flamo with only 56.15%tuning. car will handle great with wide race tires, I only had to ease off accelerator in a couple of the turns.

Your welcome, of course if you just want a fast time build a different car but if just after the achievement, this is a cheap Junkyard alternative.

Two words that would have helped me a long time ago (if there is no DLC):
Four-wheel drive
Ps Engine tuning (if possible 3 stars) and from one place will be

To make the circle easier to pass, use a vehicle with all-wheel drive (4x4).
If you don't have the DLC, then a great choice would be the Hinata Moon MK 1 Special Edition OTs - you can find it at: auto dismantling, auction, barn, showroom.
Used the I4 DOHC 4x4 engine, after tuning to 3 stars it produced 1592 hp and 1944 NM, which was more than enough to complete a lap in 1.38, even managed to flip over and hit the wall/
