How to unlock the SURVIVOR achievement in Cars 2: The Video Game - Definitive Guide
If you're willing to wait, the last Survival mission (Home Security), which is in Clearance Level 5 is ridiculously easily to get Gold on. There aren't any batteries, but keeping your shield should be very easy since checkpoints are more frequent to make up for this.
Midway through the track, there is a giant banked turn with a drift strip. Instead of going on the bank, stay on the inside of the turn to save time.
To make this even easier, you can enter the Unlimited Turbo code and keep tapping X during the race to boost. The code is 721953. If you want a homing laser at the beginning of the race, you can enter 123456 as well.

Great tip on waiting for the last Survival mission. It was a LOT easier than the prior ones!

To get a Gold Trophy in a Survivor Mission you have to survive 3 Rounds on the map.
Time doesn't matter here, so take it a bit slower, try to collect all batteries and blast the only enemy to get extra Batteries.
When driving through a purple Barrier you will gain a bit energy and Batteries appear.
Hit every 8 and you will get a Bonus Batterie.
I did this on the first Survivor Mission during the Story.

To obtain Gold on a survivor mission, you need to complete three laps without having your shield depleted. You regain shield power by destroying the chase vehicle and picking up what it drops. You can also recover energy by driving through the purple barriers and collecting the batteries. The first survivor mission is the easiest to obtain gold on so if you don't get it on your first try, restart the mission until you do. You can also come back and try again later via level select.
