How to unlock the Kart Contact achievement in Cars 3: Driven to Win - Definitive Guide
As the karts are faster than you, you'll need to build up your turbo, the easiest way is or and can be combined to help you earn the Reverse Racer or 2-Wheel Champ Achievements.
Once you have at least TWO turbo's you can catch up to the karts and get some hits in. Simply rinse and repeat.
Put the game on EASY to make this Achievement / Trophy easier to get.
Takedown events require you to blow up enemy cars as you drive. Just keep loading up your turbo boosts to catch them, then dodge left or right to "bash" them. Easiest method is to get right in the middle of a group and then dodge to hit 2 or 3 of them quickly in a row, then do it again when they respawn.
Go to Cup Series -->Create a Series. Then create a custom Takedown Event on any track you like (Fireball Sprint is a good recommendation) and edit the settings to be "human only" and click on the "Takedown" line to change the time duration to 5:00 minutes. Save the cup and run it on EASY, this will now be a solo event with a lot of extra time to get the required 15 side bashes done.
The Crash Karts are naturally set to be much faster than you, but they do have some weaknesses, like always taking the turns in the middle or high side of the track. You can make up good distance by cutting to the inside of the corners and then using a Boost which should put you right in the middle of the pack and you can bash away. Remember that weapons are useless since you need 15 "bash" kills.
I was unable to complete 15 bash kills on ANY normal takedown event, but using this method I got the trophy on my first attempt.
To earn this trophy, you have to side bash 15 enemy karts in one Takedown event.
To side bash opponents, flick and while driving. The trophy can only be earned in Takedown events, where there are endless waves of karts and trucks you will have to destroy with weapons.
To make things easier, play on easy mode, as playing on higher difficulties makes it harder to keep up with the karts. The karts tend to outspeed you every time, even when you are using Turbo or 'Into the Zone'. Make sure to not fire your weapons as you want as many karts on the screen as possible. Always try to drive on 2 wheels, so your turbo charges faster. You are timed, so make sure to act quickly. Trying to side bash 15 Karts in 3 minutes is quite tricky and can be frustrating. This is definitely the hardest trophy in the game when compared to all the other easy and simple ones.
The big trucks carrying red barrels don’t count for this trophy, so feel free to shoot them if they are the only ones left on the screen. The only ones you want to focus on are the small karts. The rest is up to luck really as the karts have a tendency to also kill themselves. Karts can also sometimes gain weapons and attack you. They will be marked with a red arrow. Keep an eye out for them.
After bashing the 15th one, the trophy will unlock shortly.
Thanks to Graffin_G, there is an ultra fast and easy way to get this trophy done:
There's a bit of a cheaty way to get the Kart Contact trophy. Just set up a Custom Cup on the Fireball Beach Sprint level and you can give yourself 5 minutes to get it. It's the only way I could get it!
Rivals: Human only
Number of runs: 1
Mode: Race to the bottom
Route: Go Tokyo! or Radiator Springs Freeway or Aviarally
Duration 5:00
Weapon set: any
A trophy for good luck.
You should always accumulate turbo in different ways: driving backwards, drifting, riding on two wheels, aerial stunts. As a rule, to catch up with a group you need to use 2 turbos.
Small cars need to be rammed.
When there are few targets left on the road, 3-4. - It’s better to quickly shoot the remains so that new ones appear.
