The Little Cartographer.

This achievement gave me some trouble so I'm posting how I got it.

I went to the final Chalet in chapter select once I beat the game and read every bookcase only to be annoyed when it didn't unlock.

Turns out the Carto book that is found in each Chalet chapter can be read multiple times and they're required for the achievement. The one I missed was read PRIOR to solving the box sorting minigame. (You actually have to leave the mini game because the game autopaths you down the stairs to start it skipping the book).

If you think you're missing one of these, simply go to the Chalet chapters, read the book in the lobby, solve the Chalet puzzle for that chapter and then read it again before saving and quitting.

So I went back through Chapters 4, 6, 8, and 10 and read the Little Cartographer Book before and after the puzzle, and I went to Chapter 10 and read every book in each room but the achievement hasn't popped. Is there something I'm missing?

Try reading all the books that are shiny in each of those chapters again.

Have you interacted with the typewriter? And try reading the Carto book in the lobby between all phases of the box stacking puzzle.

Just went back and re-completed all Chalet chapters. Don't know what I was missing. Read every lit up book and the Carto book twice. Finally popped. Recommend due diligence and a couple attempts.

I'm having the same issues. I've spent hours replaying the chalet levels and still nothing. I have noticed that on level 4 and 6, two bookcases stay glimmering even after I've read them multiple times. Still happens after quitting and reloading the game. Not sure what to do at this point.

I've managed too! So actually, all cabin chapters have some stuff to do. So you *MUST* read the looby book upon chapter entry, do whatever you have to do on the chapter (chapter 4 you must find the boots, chapter 6 you must find the hidden volcano room, etc.) and then there will be a new looby entry avaiable that you must read before saving/exit to go to the other cabins chapter

Carto also reads an entry during the credits. I don't you if you can skip the credits, I didn't try, but if you can and do, then you may miss Carto reading the final entry.

Couple of quick notes, chapter select is not really full flexible chapter select, it just starts a new game from a specific point in the story. In order to jump to the next Chalet Chapter, after reading everything on a specific chapter, save & exit and then delete that save before starting a new game and going to a different Chalet Chapter.

As others noted, the easy missed book is the main story lobby book that changes before and after the puzzles. Mine popped after I read the lobby book in Chapter 4 post boots puzzle.

Anyone know if you can read the lobby book a second time in chapter 10 for another entry ? I checked it before I left for the tree but it was the same as when I entered the chalet. I checked all the book shelved in chapter 10 and each one had an entry and I re-read to be safe. No achievement so likely I messed up on a lobby book somewhere, I did get the one mentioned in chapter 8 and didn't skip the credits.

Quick note: If you're like me and wait a week after finishing the game, you may have your cross-save data deleted. I had to replay the ending in order to get chapter select back. This may also reset book progress too.

This is the only achievement in the game not working at all I’ve done all books including carto’s ones twice now and it just doesn’t work I’ve even replayed the ending has anyone found a decisive way to get this or do I just play from chapter 4 again ?

I swear I read every book including carto's and still it didn't pop. Kinda frustrating cuz I made damn sure to read all of them multiple times before moving on.

I unlocked it after reading the book that gave the map on how to build the Chalet to open a secret door. That exact book gave me it. I always made sure to check the main book at the entrance after everything. Sometimes it had a new story. And I made sure I visited every room each time I went to the Chalet.

I goofed up when I tried to restart the game. In doing so I lost the ability to chapter select so guess I have to play it all again

after trying many times I kept not getting this to pop in the end I went back and started from the first story Chalet and only read the Carto book and any required for that chapter I then just had to play through again from that point until the last visit to the chalet where I read everything and it popped just before I got in the elevator

In Chapter 6 you have to read Carto book again after you have talked with the blue hair girl. I forgot to talk with the girl so I didn't unlock the new page.

Thanks for this guide. I played through the entire game in one sitting and this achievement didn't unlock. I suspected it was Chapter 8 that I missed reading the Cartographer book before arranging the shelves. Once I completed the game and went back to the main menu I selected "Play" and "New Game" and when you do that it gives you the option to use chapter select. I just picked 8.1 and as soon as I read the book at the first chance I had the achievement and the 100% completion popped.

I had the same problem. Just unlocked when reading the lobby book in Chapter 10 prior to solving the elevator. Now this was on Chapter select after two playthroughs. I'm pretty sure I read it the first time and certain I did the second time through...

I was having the same problem and I found I was missing the second Carto book on Chapter 6 (after solving the puzzle).

I recommend doing what Coffee 45 wrote on the first post, going back to all the Chalet chapters and reading the Carto book as soon as you enter the Chalet and after solving the puzzle (before leaving the Chalet)

I knew it was necessary to read every book in the Swiss Chalet... but I didn't realize the book in the foyer kept changing! facepalm So in my playthrough I read all the other books (except the meta one in the foyer).

After beating the game I started a new one and chose the Chalet chapter 4, read the book, solved the puzzle, read the book again. I erased that game and went to chapter 6 and repeated the process, and chapter 8 and repeated the process.

It took about 18 minutes. I didn't replay any of the other levels.

Every time we are in the House of Stories we read all the illuminated books. Sometimes you need to read a book about us twice (immediately after entering the house and after completing the task). The trophy will drop in Chapter 10

If you missed it, after beating the game, go through the selection of chapters marked House East. gets there calmly. Just read everything again and as soon as you read what you missed, a trophy will appear.
