The arenas are the battle mode levels that you can select from. There are a 25 arenas from the 9 Themes + 1 Final Boss Arena stage (total of 26). 10 of the Arenas are open from the start, 11 you unlock through story mode and the remaining 5 are bought in the store (you'll need 5,000 points to buy them all).
