How to unlock the Can't Buy Me Love achievement in Cassette Beasts - Definitive Guide

The Travelling Merchant is an NPC that will appear in random locations throughout the world of Cassette Beasts. As far as I am aware, he can be found at any time during the game, whether it be main-game, post-game, in the overworld or in caves. Despite his location being random, you can pick up a rumor in town regarding the merchant, which will show you where he is on the map! This is how I initially found him, although he was in a cave and not outside in the overworld, so keep that in mind.
If you don't have a rumor for him, resting will pass time and re-roll a set of new rumors in town. Simply rest, wait about 30-60 seconds for the overworld to re-populate the rumors, then talk to everyone in town with a "?" above their head and hope you get it!
You shouldn't need to buy anything, simply speaking and backing out should net you the achievement.

Out of curiosity, did you play on PC or console for this particular achievement, as I am deep into post game and would estimate I have been through over 100 rumours at least, but I have never have one about the merchant!
Just wandering if its something that currently only works on PC like the 5 heart achievements?
