Ghostly is a Status Effect. To become ghostly you need to cast Haunt which can be placed on, among others, all Astral cassettes.
Haunt gives you the Ghostly status effect for 3 rounds. The moment the counter reaches 0 your cassette will break.
You can get Haunt by either levelling up certain cassettes(Mascotorn gets it early at one star) or buying it from the Status move merchant in the main town(to the left of the cafe), these merchants restock randomly every day.
So, to get the achievement without any setup aside from the Haunt move you could just fight beasts in a low level area, like the beach to the right of the town. Cast Haunt, and just kill the beasts.

It may be worth adding that having the skill ‘dog years’ can be helpful as it can extend the ghostly buff, Barkley does start with this skill so doesn’t require any prep
