One way of getting a rare sticker is through the Vending Machine in the Town Hall. For 20 Metal, you'll be able to purchase one of several Sticker packs. There sticker packs can contain common, uncommon and rare stickers. The rate of Rare stickers seems pretty high, out of 3 bought packs so far, I got 2 rare stickers.
The best way to get the Metal currency is to battle other people. I get between 1-4 metal from each battle
Rare stickers can also be found within chests in the world. Keep on looting them and you'll get one pretty early on in the game

Echolocation now appears to be an uncommon sticker

Thanks for the update, I will remove it from the guide for now, and update it once I find the earliest chest containing a rare sticker!
