Earned by completing an early Main Quest called "Take Me On" where you go to the Ranger Outpost to meet Leader Ianthe. This quest will be selectable from your quest log early in the game and sends you north of Harbourtown to the Ranger Outpost.
There's at least one campfire to heal along the way, but note that the last push involves multiple "trainer battles" against other cassette users so bring healing items to be safe.
