This is just a case of working towards it as and when the villagers will tolerate idle chit chat. When you press 
to interact with them, press 
to chit chat. If they shoo you away, it won’t count. But if they do talk, then it counts towards the total. This was one of the later achievements I unlocked. Just keep trying as you work through their quests as sometimes they won’t have much to say for quite some time.

Velvet
Anytime you talk to any of the villagers, it will count towards this. There is a chitchat option by hitting 
but simply talking to them will work just fine. You can monitor you progress with this trophy in the Trophy section of the start menu. The box for it will slowly fill up with color as you get closer to 50. After your 50th conversation, the trophy will unlock. Thank you to Riddler_Tam for this tip!
