How to unlock the What's that horn for? achievement in Castle of no Escape 2 - Definitive Guide
Enter the following Ritual from the main menu:
This will spawn you as the Guardian with everything you need to beat the game. Check a handful of the neighboring rooms from where you spawn to find a shimmering orange thing in the center of a random room. Walk into this to be teleported to the boss room. Press when standing on the symbol on the floor to initiate the boss fight. If you can't find the orange glimmer after five or six rooms, feel free to quit out () and restart a new run with the same ritual above, and you may have better luck with one spawning nearby.
The Guardian is one of the better characters in the game thanks to his attack that is strong and hits multiple times. Unfortunately, he's quite slow, but he has a lot of health and armor to make up for it. The other bad thing is that his attack doesn't really knock the boss back at all, so you'll want to only hit him a couple times before retreating to put some distance between you and him before he dashes. You should be able to finish his first and second phases off pretty quickly though, with a combination of your regular attack and stronger attack. The third phase is identical for all characters, meaning attack as much as possible and do your best to dodge the random fireballs. Since there's no dashing to avoid from the boss, just hammer him with attacks as much as possible to reduce the number of fireball phases you need to deal with.
One important thing I struggled with was, after the boss turns blue and spirals around the room and then blasts back into the center of the room, sometimes I would take damage when he reappeared in the center for no apparent reason. This seemed to happen whenever I was standing in the bottom half of the room. I switched to always waiting in the upper left corner for him to reappear and never ended up taking random damage in that corner.
