How to unlock the Phantom gold achievement in Castle of no Escape 2 - Definitive Guide

In the last update of the game, I tried the other solutions but they didn't work. This is the way it worked for me:

Have 10000 or more gold in your hand and let the phantom steal them altogether. Don't let the phantom steal any amount of gold before you gather 10k gold. So it's not an accumulative achievement anymore and you can not get it over the multiple games. You should attempt it in a single game once you have all 10000 gold.

To do this, I used this strategy from Fejer's guide:
First put this ritual code:
cn_upcn_downcn_backcn_backcn_backcn_backcn_leftcn_backcn_Acn_upcn_upcn_upcn_left
Then I looked for a room (I don't remember if it was on level 2 or 3) where there were 3 yellow centaurs (horse-men) and 2 harpies. I only killed the 3 centaurs which gave me around 70 gold coins and left the harpies alive. I repeated this process going in and out of the room to earn coins quickly. If you kill all enemies in a room they won't respawn the next time you enter it again.

This was my last achievement as I didn't figure out how it works properly.

Good luck!

There is another guide here that was claiming that you needed to have all 10K in hand in order for this achievement to pop. This is absolutely not true. I just got this achievement and I only had 2K stolen from a previous run and 9K stole from this run. So, to reiterate, this achievement is cumulative throughout all playthroughs.

Now, for the tips:

I input the ritual for the Champion:
Champion cn_upcn_downcn_backcn_backcn_backcn_backcn_downcn_backcn_Acn_upcn_Bcn_upcn_A

Then from the starting room, go cn_up (north) and then cn_right (east) -- this will take you into a room with a lot of enemies. As soon as you walk in, keep spamming the cn_A button until you get most of them killed, then exit cn_left (west). I always left the two in the back of the room alone when I exited the room. The reason why is that the enemies will always respawn in that room if there is at least one monster left alive.

Start performing your upgrades at the Anvil in the adjacent room as soon as you get enough of those shield emblem thingees by clicking cn_X on the anvil. While you are rinsing and repeating with the enemies in the next room, never allow your durability (blue shields) to deplete down to the red portion of your health status. You will want to maintain the durability every so often as the enemies are hitting you by maintaining your armor at the anvil.

Once you are satisfied with the amount of gold you have, you can go in between the starting room and the anvil room to check to see if the phantom will appear. It will always appear from the left side of the room, and it looks like a black blob. You will want to be careful and not exit the room too quickly, because if the phantom appears and you exit the room, it will not be there when you go back in.

Anyway, this is what worked for me and what seemed to be easiest and most functional. I would say it probably took me about 20-30 minutes to do this.

Safe travels!

I'd like to add a few details on how to "speed" this up:

I used the following ritual code provided by sCoRpTanK to start with an upgraded bandit but feel free to use whichever code you prefer:
cn_upcn_downcn_backcn_backcn_backcn_backcn_leftcn_backcn_Acn_upcn_upcn_upcn_left

I looked for a room (I don't remember if it was on level 2 or 3) where there were 3 yellow centaurs (horse-men) and 2 harpies. I only killed the 3 centaurs which gave me around 70 gold coins and left the harpies alive. I repeated this process going in and out of the room to earn coins quickly. If you kill all enemies in a room they won't respawn the next time you enter it again.

The black phantom (a black blob) might also appear at random when you get into one of the rooms - even ones which you already visited. The phantom usually starts at a room's entrance moves into the middle of the screen to take up your gold coins (it doesn't do damage) and then moves away. Going back and forth between the rooms helped in my case - it reduces the risk of getting killed. That was my biggest issue before sticking to this process: I had 3000-4000 gold coins but died before the black phantom appeared.

@GaMeRR vL: Unfortunately I don't have the game installed anymore. Even though the phantom is rare, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to tell what it looks like once you see it. It's a completely black blob, looks like a black circle with short tentacles, hovering from aside over the screen. It stops in the middle to steal your gold.

This achievement is cumulative across all runs of the game, but it is easily paired with Reincarnated millionaire (50G) which is NOT cumulative across all games. Reincarnated millionaire (50G) requires you to collect a cumulative total of 10,000 coins in a single playthrough. You don't have to have 10,000 coins on you all at once, but you must collect 10,000 total in a single playthrough. The strategy below will unlock both achievements in the same playthrough.

Start off by loading into a game using any of the Rituals for each character, provided in their achievement solutions at the end of the base game. My preference was the Bandit (in Bits and bites (50G)), but use whichever character you prefer. Use that Ritual to start up a game, and now you're going to need a bit of luck and searching to find the ideal room. You're looking for a room with the minotaur enemies, typically brown and red ones, but sometimes the brown and gold ones also work. When you enter that room and then leave back the way you came, the minotaur enemies should follow you back the way you came. You can kill them in the safe room, they drop a lot of coins, and then you can reenter and leave the same minotaur room to draw another pair towards you to again kill for coins. To speed this process up, you can actually enter and leave the minotaur room twice quickly, and this will cause four minotaurs to follow you instead of two, doubling the rate at which you amass coins.

This isn't a super fast method, but it is reliable (once you find a room) and pretty simple to grind out. It'll likely take upwards of half an hour to grind out 10,000 coins, but it's pretty mindless. Once you've collected 10,000 coins and unlocked Reincarnated millionaire (50G), it's time to get them stolen by the phantom.

The phantom appears completely randomly. It's essentially a black shadow that moves across the floor of the room you're in and takes all the money you have. It can spawn in any room. So once you have your 10,000 coins from above (keeping in mind this specific achievement for the phantom is cumulative and doesn't actually need you to have 10,000 coins stolen at once), you then just need to wait for the phantom to spawn. Since it can spawn in any room, the safest way to get it to spawn is to just move back and forth between two safe rooms; for example, two rooms where you've killed all enemies so none respawn, or a jackpot room and an enemy-less room. Just go back and forth, waiting a second in each room to see if the phantom spawns. It's completely random so it could happen quick or you could be going back and forth for 10 minutes. Once he finally spawns, he'll move to the center of the room and steal all your money. Once he's taken 10,000 total from you, this achievement will unlock.
