This shows you where Maria is located, you can either acquire the key in stage 3 and keep it till stage 4 or just use the password I've provided to start stage 4 with the key.

At the end of level 3, right before the boss, a key is hidden in the last candelabra.
In level 4, 2 locked doors.
The first door in the middle of level 4 is where the elevators are. Maria is locked here.
The second door is at the end of level 4. Hidden behind this door is an alternate level 5`. If you do not save Maria, the door at 5` will not open.
Level 5` in the middle of the level you need to drain the water and save Annette
