How to unlock the The Full Moon of Demise achievement in Castlevania Advance Collection - Definitive Guide

Recommended level for the Dracula fight is 45-50, though depending how much you'd like to use the Rewind function, this is hardly necessary. If you don't want to use Rewind or prefer to use it sparingly, preparation in the spoilers.

PREPARATION
To raise your luck for drop rates, Luck Rings drop from Zombie Thieves going to Machine Tower in the top left, and Venus/Mandragora gives a 25% luck boost. See below for a map.

You'll want the appropriate armor in either the Magic Robe (250 DEF, 300 INT) or Mirror Armor (300 DEF). Both are found in the Observatory Tower; the Magic Robe drops from the Alraune found in a hallway two tiles down from the teleport room, and Mirror Armor drops from the Devil in the hallway under Hugh's boss room.

If you need healing items, there are three options. Fox Archers in the Machine Tower (top left) drop Potions (20 HP) and rarely Meat (50 HP). Legion, the floating tentacle faces in Observatory Tower, rarely drop Potion High (250 HP). Alraune, the plant lady in Observatory Tower, rarely drops Potion Ex (full heal).

The cross is the best subweapon for Dracula. If you don't have one, find the boss door on the map and follow it to the left edge. There is a cross in the L-shaped room, the castle entrance.

I recommend two DSS combos for the fight - Venus/Thunderbird (Damage boost based on map percentage) and Mars/Mandragora (Rose sword). If you don't have them, consult the following map to get squared away.

DRACULA PHASE ONE
Dracula teleports around the room and unleashes one of three attacks: A high and low bat, three bats fired simultaneously, or a large spread of bats. The first two are easily solved with a double jump, and the latter will likely hit you without Rewind.

Turn on Venus/Thunderbird. He won't deal too much damage in this phase, so the goal is to throw a cross from the right place to stick on him and deal as much damage while you avoid his attacks. After this phase, there will be a cutscene and you will have the option to leave and save.

DEMON DRACULA PHASE ONE
This is where each attack will do around 150 damage at minimum. As the last phase, he will slowly teleport and use one of three attacks.
- He fires a beam into the ground, which then explodes. Get on the platforms above or use Roc Wing repeatedly to avoid damage.
- The bottom mouths open and spew red poison globs. Crouch and hold attack to spin the whip, breaking them on contact.
- He summons meteors, which will likely need Rewind to be consistently dodged.

The name of the game is avoiding damage and getting hits in when possible, typically with the cross at the beginning of the attack and a quick whip at the end. Use Venus/Thunderbird to boost cross damage. When he begins to flash green, he is about to enter phase two.

DEMON DRACULA PHASE TWO
Switch DSS to Mars/Mandragora. Dracula now follows an easily dodged pattern, but mistakes are deadly. While in demon form, he is invulnerable and charges you. This charge deals 500+ damage. Wait for him to move back to begin the charge, then use Roc Wing to jump out of the way. When you land, if you see him again in demon form, be prepared to continue. This may take a few attempts to get the timing down. If he's not on screen, he's now in Bat form.

Dracula can only be damaged in Bat form. Several bats are flying around an eyeball, and will occasionally seek you out. Use the rose sword to get a good arcing blow to take out bats and deal damage to the eye. After enough time in this form, he will begin charging you in Demon form again. Rinse and repeat until complete.

Unlike other boss achievements, this does not pop immediately, but during the credits.

You need to kill 9 bosses. Dracula has two forms.
